I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband moved into Regency Park Assisted Living from another facility. Compared to where he was, this is the ultimate. There is so much love and care, and the people are so well-trained. They know what to do for the residents in the memory care there. My husband is the seventh one in his family to have inherited that Alzheimer's gene and he's the last living one. So, six other members of his family have passed away already with it. But he's getting excellent care and he's living with it. And, he's always happy to see me when I come. The food is very good and it's prepared well, and very nutritious. It's a great place for memory care. They sing. They have stories that are read to them. They have a big TV, and they sing along to it. They encourage the people there to participate in activities. It's great. Anybody who needs to have their loved one in memory care, this place would be my choice. This is the best. It's a very caring environment. You can see that the people who work there love what they're doing, and you can see it just radiates in them. They love helping these people who are new in memory here.

My in-laws moved to Regency Park. We were able to visit my father-in-law and my mother-in-law in the same room. The food kitchen is where they try hard. There are a lot of group activities during the day. There are a lot of common areas and movie places to watch movies. It's an apartment with a living area, a dining area, a bathroom, and a sleeping area. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Regency Park Assisted Living was nice. The only thing was that the only way that they have larger rooms was that they put two studios together to make a larger area, so it didn't flow as well. It's something that was built to be like a two-bedroom. They had some activities, they had a gym, and they had a fairly nice outdoor area. One of the problems was that one room kind of looked out on the street and the other one kind of looked out on the parking lot. The food was excellent.

My mother moved to Regency Park. We chose it because the facility is a nice size; it's spacious without being too big. We saw a lot of activities every day, and there's a lot of effort the staff put in to keep people moving and motivated. We like that there's a pretty significant list of things to do every day and a person that takes care of that. We saw a lot of staff, and the staff seems to have a sense of pride in the facility and the way they run it. Everybody is very kind and also very, very proficient. The food was good, and everyone that we met was also very capable. You get the feeling that you were leaving your loved one in really good hands.

We liked Regency Park a lot. They're very warm, friendly, and diverse in meeting individual needs. They want to know what they want, what their passions are, and what they like to have and do. The rooms were pretty nice, but the storage was a little bit small. I'm looking for both of my parents to go in and one of my concerns is the closet space and storage space for their single units. The facility was wonderful and they had a lot going on. They had music and singing when we're there. It was my mom's favorite singer, so that worked out really well. They have activities in the memory unit as well.

I would not live anywhere else The move-in process went very smooth. Everyone has been very kind and thoughtful. Before I decided on Regency Park I visited 8 other communities, Regency Park was like a magnet to me it drew me in. I am glad it did as it has become home!

I like Regency Park, their attitude toward the people, and the way they transition from assisted living to memory care. I really love the facility for memory care because it was just as nice as the assisted living and it wasn't some dark place where they just stick memory care people. What I really liked is that the dining area for memory care is really very nice. The place has a lot of facilities to help elderly people keep fit and they're also building a fitness center. The people in Regency Park were sitting in little groups and there always seemed to be a staff member interacting with them. I liked that they had a dog roaming around and that people were petting it. They also have a friendly cat that lives there which people were petting too. The people looked happy.

Regency Park was the place I ultimately decided to send me and my wife because they will take both of us. We will be there in four weeks or so. It's a place that normally does not welcome patients that need intensive nursing care -- which my wife does -- but they did welcome couples so they could live together, and that part of it attracted me. I explained that my wife is an MS patient and that she cannot walk, that she uses a wheelchair, and they said they could think of an accommodation for that. As a result, I've opted to move there at least on an interim basis. I especially liked the idea that we could be together and we didn't have to be in separate facilities. The staff was very convincing. I was impressed by Tyler, who's the director of admissions. They showed us the room that we're going to have and it's under construction right now, but it will be ready by the end of the month. We're looking forward to living there. They have a very attractive facility, nice halls, and all the units have marble countertops. They also have a nice garden. I don't think any of the units have a particular view, but we looked outside the window and there are a bunch of trees, so I'm very happy with that. It's just that the available care is less than I can consider optimal for my wife. She needs more care than they are normally able to offer.

Regency Park's dining room was dark, and the food wasn’t very good. The apartments were just like all other retirement places -- small with not very much storage. I didn’t think they had too many activities. I had to cross out this place off of my list.

I visited Regency Park more than once to assess some of my clients. Always clean and welcoming as a facility, the Memory Care is well known among health care professionals to be able to handle appropriately challenging behaviors and provide care beautifully when others have failed. The care delivered by very competent and careing staff is custom tailored to residents needs and level of functioning : that's why Regency Park has 2 different levels of care in their Memory Care Unit. I recommend it highly, especially after the recent change in management : the administrator is a nurse, not only a business person, with many years of experience in the field of senior care.

Regency Park Assisted Living has an illuminations program, and it keeps Mom independent and yet, watched. I like her apartment, the staff, and the dining room. There are lots of activities like the bus brings them out to eat, exercise classes, concerts, and movie nights every 6 o'clock. They have special hour twice a week with wines. The food is OK with lots of choices. If they don't like the main entree, they can have sandwiches or something. They have a beauty parlor. Mom's room has a living room and a bedroom with a small kitchen. They allowed Mom to take her cat, and that was rare. They always have apples, bananas, water, coffee, and yogurt for the residents if they want snacks.

Regency Park was suggested to us for a respite stay by the SNF "The Pearl" in Lake Oswego, so as to continue care for our mother who had broken her ankle. We looked at several assisted living facilities and decided that Regency Park seemed like the best choice. We were very happy, the staff couldn't have been nicer or more attentive to our mom and her needs.

Regency Park was very nice. The staff was wonderful. I think they have a gym, bingo, a theater, and a church. We like the activities that they had for my mom. They had studios and one-bedroom apartments. The dining area looked very nice and set up like a restaurant, so it was very lovely.

My grandfather is Regency Park, a clean community with good service. The dining room is nice and seems cozy. He has a shared bedroom and a bathroom. They have activities like sing alongs and day trips by bus. The caretakers take very good care of the residents.

I was very pleased with Regency Assisted Living. The hallways were nice and wide. The staff was extremely friendly. The people that lived there were extremely happy. I felt like people got more personal because they weren't quite as large. The kitchen and dining area was clean. The rooms were very clean as well.

People should get what they pay for; in this case, I don't think it matters. It's horrible. and I wouldn't place my dog here. The clients to worker ratio is too high and there's not enough time to give the patients what they deserve (cleanliness and simple hygiene). On a personal level the "Staff" is rude and unhelpful. They "just want a paycheck". Just let me say RUN, as fast as you can in the Opposite direction and go someplace else. Frankly, any place is better than here... trust me.

saddened after admitting a relative to the memory unit. post stroke she couldn't walk. she would ring her bell..when no one answered, she tried to stand up to go to the bathroom. to prevent further falls, they wheelchair het to her three meals, then lay her on the couches in the common area. the couches were short so she couldn't move without help. In five days while visiting our relative was not bathed once, and she wore the same socks for 4 days. Ambulatory patients would walk up and take her belongings, she would scream "help", because she couldn't get up, and it frightened her. So they put her on a "behavior program" to justify charging more money. ALSO, there were NO activities other than one night they turned on the TV moved the wheelchairs to the front of the TV, so those laying on couches could not see the TV. She had a TV in her own room, but couldn't be in her own bed due to lack of staff to monitor her bathroom needs. They provide "CUSTODIAL CARE" which to me is admitting these patients are being warehoused, as staff takes a 4 hour inservice within 30 days of hire. No one has to be Medically trained.(NO Physical Therapy, NO Occupational Therapy, Even the people passing med.s are not nurses, and hold no licence or knowledge of most med.s including and side effects, or EPS. no exercise class to save those limbs that atrophy without use.

Regency Park had a very large buy-in expense, and that was one of the main reasons we were kind of turned off by it. The place was very nice and newly renovated; I would have liked it. It was very close to me, it’s a lot closer than where she ended up but she really likes where she is, and she felt like Regency Park had no view at all. The staff was fine, the food was good, and the dining room was beautiful.

The only one we looked at was Regency Park, and we settled on it the same day. It’s close to the hospital. The staff is good. I like that they hold monthly meetings with various staff. There are very little activities in the memory care. The room is outstanding. It’s pretty small, but there are 2 people like a 2-bedroom. It works out well. They had mechanical food when my parents first got there, and that was terrible. They switched them to finger foods, and it was good.

Regency Park didn't have everything that the other facility had but that was our second choice for my father. They did have an extensive memory care, so we considered that one as well. I like best its uplifting atmosphere. They did have a lot of different things going on in the building as well as activities that really reach out to a lot of different people. They have outside grounds that were pretty and nicely kept. It also seemed that they have a lot of field trips for their residents. I was really happy with it. They just didn't have maybe as extensive as indoor activities or gathering areas for different things compared to the other facility.

My father did many overnights in Regency Park while we're on vacation. My intention was to move him there, but I changed my mind. They had lost so much staff and have high turnover. I wonder if they're not a good company to work for because of this. They were so disorganized. The place though was beautiful and nice. The rooms and foods were also nice. They just need to resolve their staff issues.

I was impressed by the modern feel of the facility. It seemed clean and professional. The level of care was adjusted based on the level of independence exhibited by the patient. In my grandfathers case, he was glad to have some level of independence, despite the fact that he still needed occasional care. The facility is also located in a nice area of Portland, with easy access to the freeway. We were able to take my grandfather for day trips in Portland without too much hassle. My one complaint would be that once it was established that he could care for himself, he was mostly left alone during the day to fend for himself. There was a strong level of community interaction between the residents, and I was glad he could interact with his peers. I'm sorry that he has since passed, but I would definitely use this facility again if I found myself in a similar situation.

This facility, which offers both assisted living and memory care, is located near St. Vincent Medical Center, which has a good reputation for care. The campus is in the northwest hills of Portland in a residential neighborhood, and has a restful feeling. It is newly remodeled"”and they did a good job, updating the furniture and giving the place a more spacious and airy look. They also made an effort with coffee bistro areas, with have nice seating. The place as a whole is not overly fancy, but feels comfortable and pleasant. There are 104 assisted living units, and memory care with 40 beds on the ground floor"”two sections depending on level of function. The sections are joined by an activities room, but each side has its own dining room. I had a client who had difficult behavioral problems"”and the administrator and the other staff were all very knowledgeable about potential needs and care, conducting a very thorough assessment and trying to make accommodations; very professional. In other interactions, too, the administrator has been very thoughtful, and the care in the facility is good. The nursing staff has been there a long time"”and is knowledgeable and caring. The food is good, varied with different options offered"”and the staff is also knowledgeable about snacks and nutrition. The price is in the medium range--$4,500 monthly for memory care, with an entry fee of one month's rent.

Friend or relative of resident

The Regency park assisted living facility for seniors, is a recommendable facility. I was on a short visit to drop on a friend of my grandma, who was recovering from an illness. The reception was good and the staff were prompt. The residents were happy and looked contended. There were staff members ready to assist anyone in need. My grandma's friend had a specialized staff allotted to her to help in her speedy recovery. It was a place where people where given their independence. There was a separate unit dedicated for the care of people with dementia. People who needed constant medical attention were also helped at this facility. Overall I found the place to be supportive and catered to the specific needs of each individual resident.
