My brother moved in at Avamere at Hillsboro. The staff is helpful and very friendly. I've eaten there many times and the food is terrific. We got him a smaller room, but it's clean, with a nice big shower and outdoor access. They have music entertainment, games, and gardening.

Avamere at Hillsboro was very lovely and quiet, but it was just too far away. It was a very nice place. I only met one person there. There were no other staff members that I can recall that I met. It seemed very empty. The only person I met walked me around and she told me about the place, and we walked outside to the garden and patio. She was a very lovely lady and she was helpful. The building was modern and clean. The landscaping, the yard, and everything was nice. They had a library and a salon. The library was good. They had a TV room and they were all clean and well-furnished.

My son and daughter went with me to tour Avamere at Hillsboro. It was a lovely, lovely person who met us, showed us through everything, followed up with us, and answered questions. That was a year or so ago. It's very close to our home and we liked it very, very much. The facility was beautiful and well taken care of. The residents were well taken care of, too. They had a hair salon and an excellent exercise program. The outside of the building had an area where you could walk out through French doors and sit on a big patio and there was a lawn and trees covering it and stuff, but it was gated around. So, it wasn't like they could go anywhere. We were very impressed with the facility. It's relatively new. I don't mean brand spanking new, but it's very modern and they showed us studio apartments and then ones that had one bedroom and ones that had two bedrooms.

Avamere at Hillsboro was a disaster. The facility itself was very nice, but it was filthy. They just leave the residents and let them be. They had no activities. The med techs were running the show. I got a call from the hospital because my aunt was sent to the hospital and the medtech convinced them that she had a brain tumor versus Alzheimer's. And so, we had to go through brain scans. It was just nuts, the things that went on. It was horrible.

My mom is living in Avamere at Hillsboro, and it's been great. The staff is very helpful, very friendly, very mindful of the COVID requirements, and accommodating. That has worked out well for us. The facility is nice and well-kept too. The food and the services are great. They have a good variety and the residents have options if they're not particularly liking the menu items. She's sharing a room with another resident, and this setup is only specific to memory care. There's outdoor space, a full calendar of activities that begin in the morning along with some exercise, then they have games, happy hours, ice cream socials, outings on the weekends where you go out and tour, and things like that on Sundays, but right now, they're somehow limited. They're not visiting places and can't bring in outside entertainment and things like that.

My grandfather has lived here for a little while now and has receive the worst care I have ever seen in a assisted living center that cost quite a bit 4 nothing they have forgotten to do his laundry they have forgotten to care for his hygiene needs they don't do any housekeeping whatsoever and the staff always seems very uptight snotty or lazy very seldom do I walk in there and see anybody smile they let the disabled and elderly fend for them self I have even see somebody fall out of his wheelchair and two staff members just walked by him without helping him I was sick to my stomach to think my grandfather is probably so unhappy I will be moving him very soon to a loving care facility where the workers aren't robbing him just for him to recieve abuse by no care:/ I would never suggest putting a loved family member in this facility

We have had a wonderful experience here at Avamere at Hillsboro. We're in a cottage with 2 bedrooms, and our rent is currently $3800 a month. All utilities are paid, we get housekeeping every other week, and the maintenance is wonderful and very nice. They have entertainment, social hours, card games, Wii bowling, chapel, and art classes. We also have field trips, and it's interesting that they have those for the memory care folks, which is wonderful. It's certainly competitive in the industry. They have one drawback which is living on the second or third floor because they have only one elevator.

I had visited Avamere (Avamere at Hillsboro) -- not most recently -- but like when I was first moving Mom up here. I like that place also. The one thing I didn’t like was that they charge a flat rate for meals whether you went or not, but that was not the assisted living. I was looking at the independent living there.

I was very happy with Avamere. It has everything I think we wanted, although it would have been more expensive because my husband has behavioral problems. It was close to us. They have several different type of rooms, each with a bathroom and a shower. They had activities, and some kind of exercise programs there. The staff was very good, and I was very pleased.

I thought Avamere at Hillsboro was a pretty good place. It was nice, clean and the staff was very friendly. Their staff was very good even when my parents were there. They showed me a studio that was very nice. It was bright and spacious, so for a studio it was pretty good. They have more of a classic type dining room which is very open, and the food I've tasted was good. They have a salon, a transportation and activities. It was a nice place to visit. I was treated well. I felt the whole place was homey and a good fit for me.

The Avamere at Hillsboro facility is very clean and dedicated to the patients. They always provide assistance to patients who need it, including feeding those who cannot feed themselves. They bring in volunteers to do activities with the patients such as gardening and crafts. However, there are a few issues with the facility. Many different patients live here with various disabilities. Some are physical disabilities and some are mental. This does cause some problems with the interaction of the patients. I witnessed two elderly women who had physical ailments taunting a patient with a mental disability who was not capable of doing everyday tasks such as feeding himself. Perhaps this is not the fault of the facility, but it seemed certain patients should be watched more closely while interacting. Avamere contains several forms of entertainment for the guests, including an outdoor patio with plants, a piano, and a popcorn machine. Overall, the facility is very nice.

The facility itself was well kept and the building was modern. I had no difficulties parking on the street and later discovered that I could have parked in the lot also. The location is convenient to Tuality Community Hospital along with numerous physician's offices and lab facilities. My first impression inside the building however was a little problematic. I had called ahead to set up an appointment and find out who the appropriate person was for my situation. When I arrived at the scheduled time, the receptionist had trouble locating the person that I needed to talk to. As I would later learn, the person I had arranged to meet with was the Activity Director who is often in different parts of the building. It would have been helpful if the receptionist had explained this to me when I first arrived.I was impressed with the direct care staff that I spoke with during my visit. It was clear that people cared about the residents and worked hard to help each individual succeed to the best of their abilities. Residents were also encouraged to express themselves and were treated in a respectful manner. If you are looking for a care facility in Hillsboro, I would recommend considering Avamere as a possibility.

A few years ago, I visited Avamere in Hillsboro with a barbershop quartet and sang for the elderly there. From what I experienced, they seemed fairly happy (though in hindsight that may just have been the singing). The food that was provided was of decent quality and the atmosphere was pleasant enough. I can say that it definitely is not a place that I would mind staying.

I volunteered at Avamere regularly for a summer, spending well in excess of 100 hours there. It was an absolutely lovely facility, with spectacular interior decorating and a wonderful homey feel. The residents seemed quite contented, if bored at times. I helped with activities and entertaining the residents, but often no one would show up for an activity. I think they often did not know about them. The atmosphere was low-key, as it is with all assisted living centers, but upscale. It was generally pleasant, but I can't speak to if it is worth the value as I have never dealt with the financial aspect of it. It certainly is ritzy, but I don't know what they charge for that.
