Brookdale Forest Grove is a nice place. My sister is a smoker and we liked that they have a covered place, for people to smoke. They have lots of activities. They have a bus that can transport people in wheelchairs, they go to the casino twice a month, and they have art lessons, bingo, and all sorts of things. She also likes the food.

When we went to Brookdale Forest Grove, we both looked at each other and said, "Yes, this is the one." because there were people around. People were talking to each other. The other places we went to had no people. The staff was very good. They were very friendly and they weren't in a hurry. They were willing to talk to us. I've eaten there twice, and both times, I was very satisfied with the food. It was a very good meal. The place was very well-kept and clean. I didn't smell anything unusual. The room my husband is getting is a little large for him, but he's on a waitlist for a smaller room. The rooms are nice.

Brookdale Forest Grove seemed like a very nice place and an energetic atmosphere, but their rooms were small, and for the rooms that were covered by Medicaid, you're going to have to have a roommate. I only met the marketing person who gave me the tour, and I thought she was wonderful. She was very thorough, very upbeat, and very attentive with follow-ups and getting my questions answered. They were also very quick at making the assessment happen, which I appreciated. Their food was good. I just had one chicken meal. I expected to see a vegetable on the plate and did not, but it was good.

My brother will be moving into Brookdale Forest Grove. They were very kind and very helpful. This place was appropriate. I was just happy with the way they presented it to me and how helpful they were in helping me. They had activities, field trips, and things to help them socialize.

We liked the one-bedroom apartments at Brookdale Forest Grove very well. They had a real homey, comfy feeling. In fact, the whole building did. We got to see their food services and they have a chef. All in all, it was warm, family-oriented, and was within our driving distance to get there. We enjoyed it a lot. My son and my daughter came with me and they both said they liked it very much. The woman who did the tour was amazing. Sometimes when you're going to places like this, you don't even know what questions to ask, and she even had questions that we hadn't thought of yet, which was great. She answered both my son's questions, my daughter's questions, and of course mine. The facility was clean and bright. All the people who were taking care of the residents were very pleasant and very welcoming. They had an exercise area and I liked that because my husband has Parkinson's and exercise is very important for him. Also, they had a hairdresser. When it comes to dining, you can come downstairs to eat, but if you just wanted to have breakfast in your room, they would bring it up to your room to do that. Twice a week, they would do housekeeping in the apartment and you actually could have a pet/animal, too.

Residents are not getting their food in a timely manner and then it is cold. They can't seem to keep staff, especially kitchen and cleaners. We are paying to get help with dressing and it hardly ever happens. She will have to go in search for someone to help. As for laundry, 1/4 of what is sent out disappears even though clearly marked with room number. She also pays for help with showers twice a week and only gets 3/4 of them and just has to wait until next time she is scheduled. I will ask what is going on and staff never seems to know, only directs me to the director. Because of Covid there are very few activities but I don't blame them for that however the residents are very isolated and that is not healthy.

Mom was at Brookdale Forest Grove for 2 months. The location was nice because it was out in the country. The place was clean and quiet, but it was a little bit understaffed and some of the staff wasn't trained or experienced, which was a bit of a challenge. Some of them were phenomenal, but some were not so good. The head nurse was wonderful. Mom's room had a refrigerator and a stovetop. The food was bland but it was OK. They had activities going on every day like bingo and entertainment coming in.

There are just a few great CNA's. Poor management. High turnover. Father walked away from facility a few times catching random buses lost in Portland. Facility had NO clue he was even gone or missing for full days. Mediocre facility with inadequate management and staff to care for your loved one.

Brookdale Forest Grove had very nice rooms and lots of space. They seemed to have a very caring staff. It's a beautiful facility. Overall, the staff seemed great. There was just one incident when I walked out: one of their employees was smoking on the curb and spat right in front of me when I walked by, and that was a really bad first impression for that facility. Otherwise, it was great. It's very well maintained, and it had a beautiful layout.

My husband moved into Brookdale Forest Grove. It is close to where I live. So far, it's been OK. The nice thing about it is when I call, they answer the phone, and then I am forwarded to who I want to talk to. The bathroom is small, that's the one negative I could say about it, but the room is OK. I had to furnish it though. The dining area is close, but they're all fed in their room. Sometimes, he likes the food, and sometimes he doesn't. There are no activities, so they're in their rooms. If he were able to get up on his wheelchair, he can go up and down the hall. The place is OK. It is big and very, very clean. The staff that I have talked to was just fine. When everything is running, there is a lot going on. They have a large eating area and an activity area, and the place has three floors.

My mom went to Brookdale Forest Grove. I can't say anything good about them since they've really deteriorated over the years. They need to replace the carpet because it smells bad. They cannot keep staff, so they turnover a lot and it's been terrible. There was a whole period when no one would clean the apartments and they ended up hiring Merry Maids to clean. The food is terrible and sometimes they can't keep food together because they lose cooks so they'd order pizza. Their activities director is super nice and tries hard. The only thing they did well was they had activities that they engaged people in.

My parents just moved into Brookdale Forest Grove. Everybody has been wonderful, very welcoming, had a lot of information, and were very helpful in getting everything together. They had very nice grounds, which were very well-kept, and very quiet. They have PT, they have weekly trips out, and they were putting together different events for the entertainment. They liked the food.

My mom is in Brookdale Forest Grove. Their activities are kind of boring; they pretty much have the same thing all the time and nothing that my mom likes. I would say that they should improve on their activities. The place is generally pretty clean, and the staff is always really caring. She has a really cute apartment that's the perfect size for her. It's a one-bedroom with a living room, a small kitchen if she wanted to cook, and a bathroom. They have a lot of staff turnover though, so when there's someone new, you'd have to start all over again.

I moved here at Brookdale nine years ago. It was pretty good then, but it's gone down quite a bit. They don't have any exercise to speak of, no swimming pool, and the number of staff has been reduced. The rooms were fine, spacious, and had everything you need. They've got housekeeping people to keep it clean and laundry if you want it done.

I liked Brookdale Forest Grove because the rates were reasonable, and the rooms were nice; a lot larger than in the other place. The staff was friendly.

I visited Brookdale Forrest Grove, and I loved it. I loved the environment. The people were very kind. They were nice. It was very clean. The meals were fabulous -- the way they served it and the way you had a couple of choices of meals every day. You had multiple choices of food, and you do not have to eat the same thing every day.

We were able to visit Wynwood of Forest Grove. This place is clean, and it would be easy access for us to go see him. The atmosphere was friendly. It did offer professional services, but more impersonal. Their apartments were clean and very nice. It is also very spacious and everything a person would need. The residents all seemed to be happy and well adjusted.

We visited Wynwood but nobody was at the reception desk so we didn’t know where to go. They’ve got the fireplaces going and everything felt homey to me. We had lunch which was very good. They spoiled me really well and I got to meet everybody. The head guy was wonderful. It’s got everything I want and need. It’s even got a physical therapy room where I can go and do things. The apartment was the biggest I’ve seen in assisted living homes. It was really nice. Even the people that live there were coming up and talking to me and they just made me feel welcome and home. I already have friends there and I would have absolutely no problem moving in there. However, they have no slot for me and I wouldn’t be able to move until August or September.

We moved mom to Wynwood of Forest Grove last July. I was really pleased with the staff when we are moving her in as they were very helpful and all went well. She likes the facility and they keep the place very clean. She likes the people and she is comfortable there. She's in a one-bedroom apartment with a little kitchenette. She is having the food delivered to her room and she likes it. After a couple of weeks, my brother told me that they were sending her bills and statements for things that she had not received and under the description of the statement it didn't explained what she was being billed for. She has a neurological condition because she has degenerative brain disease and so she started just issuing automatic payments through her online banking to the facility. Within four weeks' time she had issued $12,000 and so I was not happy. I meet with them and they said that there had been a miscommunication and when we asked for a description of the services that she was being billed for. One of them was like chronic pain management and it said that part of that would be massage therapy and my mom said she wasn't receiving any massage therapy or any therapy. To make the long story short, they did end up removing all the charges that were on her account that shouldn't have been there and all the late fees. Hopefully from this point forward there accounting department will do a cleaner job at what they are doing.

I went to Wynwood of Forest Grove to visit a friend. It was a nice place, very casual and very friendly. They take care of the residents. They had a bus that took them shopping. They kept the residents occupied. They did well as far as the food.

I was very hesitant of a big company like this at first. To me it always felt like this was senior robbery. You look at how much people pay a month to live there and are left wondering why they didn't pay for there own caregiver at home. Then you see the light when at three in the morning grandma needs something and there are two sometimes three people coming in to check on her. We then got to go and see the dining room where they ate there meals. It was nice, almost nicer than the places I went out for dinner. The cooks were very friendly and knowledgable. The thing that impressed me was they knew what residents were on what kind of restrictive diets and accommodated all of them. Last but not least the housekeepers. If there ever is a group of people that deserves more money its them. They have to clean a lot of things and deal with things other people dont have to. I remember one time I spilled something in the room and was going to clean it up and they stopped me and cleaned it for me. All in all I believe we put my grandma in a good setting and she will be happy for years and years.

My mom used this facility before. But I would rate the center around in the middle. My mom is a very shy person and I don't feel that they'd made the effort to help her get to know other people and get used to the activities. I think they don't have enough time and staff to individualized that much. I remember she requested once to be transferred to a different table because the people she was with just kept on talking about their age and grievances and my mom doesn't like that. But the people there did not transfer her so she quit joining the group meal. They could have been nice. But overall, the facility and staff were fairly good.
