My mother spent the last 5 months of her life here in the memory unit. She was treated with compassion, dignity and love. The nurses would call with any changes in her condition and worked well with hospice. We truly felt that the director and staff were an extended part of our family and they made these months much more bearable. I highly recommend The Gables! The rooms are spacious and come with a TV and built-in bookshelves. There are daily activities and the food is wonderful.

I visited The Gables of Westerville. They were very helpful in the whole process. The facility itself is beautiful. It's clean and it is welcoming. The residents love it, both in memory care and in assisted living. Multiple residents came up to us and said that they loved living there. There's nothing that I didn't like about it. The rooms are well-maintained and Mom will have plenty of space. They're beautifully set up. They keep them active all day long. They have a variety of games and crafts. They have small group activities too.

The Gables of Westerville was very spread out. It was not all in one compact, multi-story building. In order to get to the activities, you have to go outside to get over to the main part, which I didn't like. The staff was great, helpful, told me a lot about everything that went on, and gave me a good overview of what it was like living there. The apartments were nice. There was no food included, so you had to buy a meal plan, which I didn't like. They would go on field trips, they had a library, an exercise room, nice meeting rooms, and rooms where people could just sit and socialize. It was only a year old, so everything was in very good shape.

Food is fine, and the activities are good. However, the staff leaves a bad taste in my mouth. They will smile to your face and on more than one occasion I have heard them insult residents and their families as soon as they walk away. I do know that happens a lot in every day life but they should be more respectful. And while I would expect that from some of the entry level positions, to hear it from higher ups is a little disheartening. Good looking building but so are all the other ones that are new.

I went to look at The Gables of Westerville. The tour was very good. It was extremely informative and covered a lot of your basic questions. The information that they send home with you also answers a lot of additional questions that maybe you didn't think to ask at the time. The facility was outstanding and very clean. Everybody was extremely friendly. The type of floor plans that they offer are all really great. They had great options to choose from. They had studios as well as one and two-bedroom apartments. The studios were a little bit smaller for two people. More than likely, a one-bedroom would be better. It has plenty of space and a good storage area. They were really, really nice. You are able to decorate them on how you please to make it your home. They have a little putting green and happy hour every day. They have special crafts that they plan each day, and that could be baking or creating something. They have a movie theater where you can watch movies. They have manicures.

The Gables of Westerville was a very, very nice place. I probably couldn't speak any higher of it. It is a beautiful facility, brand new, and very modern. I don't have any experience with the food there, but looking at the dining room and the facilities, I'd imagine it was very good. The staff, the facility, the rooms, and everything was very, very nice. It's priced very well too, and very competitive. They gave us a completely full activity sheet. So they at least publish that they do quite a bit. The staff was very nice and very professional.

The Gables of Westerville is new and it fits all our requirements. We met with the director, the salesperson, and the director of nursing, so it was very informative. It has all the latest things. They have a salon, a gym, a theater, a library, and arts and crafts. Being brand new, it's in good shape. The rooms were about 750 square feet, so they're good. It's a one-bedroom, full bath, and shower. They have 44 memory units. It's within a 3-mile radius of our home.
