My mom is a resident of West Chester Assisted Living and Memory Care. The appearance and the layout are awesome. It is a new facility. The staff seems friendly enough. I've not had a lot of opportunity to interact with them. Because of COVID restrictions, visitation is minimal, so I have not literally stepped in there to see my mom's room since the day we moved her in. They do stretching, get-to-know-you activities, brief type of food celebration, or decorating a cookie; pretty simplistic activities. The get-to-know-you activities are perhaps not well facilitated, and some people are more vocal than others, so not all people can actively participate from what I understand. The dining hall looks pristine and the food, from what I've seen, looks excellent, but I have very limited comment after that first experience.

My mom has been in the memory care section of West Chester Assisted Living & Memory Care since the end of March. It seems to be OK. As you go into the main entrance, the memory care part is off to the right with locked doors, while the assisted living is off to the left. Sometimes they don't call me back for several days, but it's never been anything urgent that I've called about. It is close enough to me, so I could just drive over when there was something urgent; that's one of the advantages of that place. The staff seemed fine. My mom complains about some of them though. She complains about the food that she doesn't like it, but I take everything she says with a grain of salt because of her dementia. Her bedroom has a couple of closets, and there's a private bathroom. It's not super spacious, but she has a single bed, a nightstand, a dresser, and a small recliner. They also have a beauty salon, an outdoor place where she can go out and sit when it's night, and a small area for physical therapy. They do activities, but my mom chooses not to do them. Because of COVID, they're not doing their little bus trips and such. I wish they could improve the food and communicate better with the resident's family, but that's only from my experience. I can't speak for all the other people there.
