My parents just got into Barrington of West Chester. They seem very nice. I really like the people there. The rooms are very nice. The staff has been very helpful. They've given us all the information we need, and they really did a great job. I was really impressed with how clean it was. They seem to take care of things. Over the weekend, they had all the stuff for the TV to be hooked up.

Barrington of West Chester was okay. The tour experience was positive. The staff members are great, particularly the president of the organization. The apartments were okay. We looked at one-bedrooms. They have several activities. They have a good restaurant and good activities. They have a number of trips and those sorts of things that are free to the residents. The people were pretty friendly. The game places and stuff like that were nice.

I toured Barrington of West Chester. It's well done, well prepared, has a lot of activities, is in good shape, and is friendly. The staff know the people there. They go above and beyond. The facility was clean and well laid out.

I toured Barrington of West Chester. The atmosphere seemed very nice and very pleasant, and everybody was polite. It just didn't have the comfortable feeling that I wanted. It was very impressive. The place was nice, and I didn't get into food or anything like that. We didn't talk about that because once I heard the price, it's a little bit out of our range, so I didn't really follow up with much there. The room was small, but it was like three rooms in one. You had a small kitchen area. You had the bath and the shower area, and you had a nice area for a bed and a chair. Nothing fancy, but it looked nice. When I was there, it was late afternoon, they were having a little happy hour with a couple of musicians playing in the lobby. They had a lot of people down listening and watching. I know there was a room where there were some activities, but they weren't going on at the time.

There are just so many areas where Barrington of West Chester is not great. My dad needs assistance and a lot of times the aides are either incompetent or rude to my parents or they don't want to do the thing that needs to be done. They have a little button and they take a long time to come and help when my mom needs help. If you need a lot of assistance as my dad does, it becomes very expensive and they don't even do the things that you need them to do. We can get skilled nursing care for him 24 hours a day for nearly the same price as what we're paying at the Barrington of West Chester. I have had a meal there before. At one time, they had a different chef and that chef was very good. I have not had a meal with the new chef, but I have observed my parents' meals many times. They are very small and there's not a lot of variety. They have a lot of entertainment, they go on trips, have exercise classes, crafts, games, movies, weekly music that comes in, happy hour, and all that stuff. So, they have a pretty nice array of amenities. My mom enjoys the entertainment and that is done pretty well there. I would rate the nursing staff a 4, the business staff a 1, and then the aides maybe a 2 or a 3.

We had a nice tour of Barrington of West Chester. We were able to see the apartment homes of residents who lived there. We may have seen one empty one as well to see the layout, but it is an apartment setting, and Mom does not want that where everyone comes in and out the main door. Everyone was very nice. It was a beautiful place. They had a happy hour. They told us we could join it, but we didn't want to. The facility was one building with several floors, like an apartment building but very beautifully decorated.

The tour at Barrington of West Chester went well. It's very nice and very clean. The apartments are very roomy. From what I could tell they take very good care of their residents, and what seems to me to be a very thorough process before someone comes in to reside in Barrington. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and seemed to be caring about the residents that are already there. The apartments have a full-functioning kitchen, which includes an oven and a stove, and if you feel like your loved one does not need the oven or the stove, they will not turn it on. They have a living room, which has enough room in it for one person. Each of their apartments has a balcony so they can go outside if they want to and enjoy some fresh air. The bedroom is a good size with a walk-in closet. They also have an alert system in the bedroom and the bathroom so that if one of their residents falls, they can pull that cord, and it alerts to the problem, and I would suppose that they would be there very quickly. The facility looked like it was very clean and very well kept. I didn't see any issues with any cracking walls or torn carpet or anything like that. They have a therapy room that has several machines like a treadmill and a stationary bicycle, those kinds of things. Each floor has an open area that has tables where they can play games. On one floor, there is a pool table, a large library, and a local library brings in books once a month. The residents can borrow books monthly, and when they're done, they put them in a bag and just set them outside their door and the library collects them. There's a lot of activities that are going on, and if a resident doesn't want to participate in a particular activity, there's always something else coming on. So, they do try to keep their residents active and participating in those kinds of activities.

I like the staff at Barrington of West Chester, the roominess, it was very clean and affordable. The staff that gave me the tour were very nice and helpful. They gave me scones which were excellent. They just have a lot to offer and the upkeep is good. It's located only 20 minutes from my house, and it's right next to everything.

I went to Barrington West Chester about a month ago. It looked fine. I liked it. They're very friendly and very helpful. The director was really wanting to help and very encouraging. The food is not outstanding, but it's OK. It was average.

Barrington of West Chester was beautiful and extremely lively, very welcoming, and well appointed. I liked everything about it. It does not offer memory care, and right now we're thinking we want to be someplace that has both. The staff was extremely friendly and very aware of the people who live there. It's a very fresh, clean, and well-organized facility.

My loved one will be moving into Barrington of West Chester in February. We saw the whole place and it was very nice. The rooms were large and well maintained. They had laundry and full kitchen. They redo them whenever they get a new tenant, so it's spotless. The staff was very professional, too. They're great.

I checked out Barrington of West Chester. It was beautiful, lovely, and the sales staff was very nice. However, they can't take care of my husband at his level, and they said he needed care beyond assisted living. Three of them went to our place to assess him. I saw an apartment, and they had nurses' station on each floor. It's a top-notch facility, it has all kinds of activities, and they go on trips and have transportation as well. They have a lot of community space, and larger rooms where you can meet other people. They encourage you to not be in your apartment all the time. They have a beautiful dining room, and the menu looked great.

My mother moved into Barrington of West Chester last February 7. I should have moved her there years ago; it was fabulous. It has so much going on, it's very social, everybody is out of their room, and everybody is smiling. Everybody is treated with respect. The meals, the food is fabulous, and they just do everything they can to help you. They have everything, there are people who lived independently and do not pay for extra services of assisted living, and you can choose the level of care. Their calendar is amazing, they have breakfast from 8am to 9am, at 9:30 they have coffee cake and coffee at the far lobby area, and everybody gathers around the TV and socialize. They have walking with Parkinson's, chair volleyball, Bridge club, Dominos, and a happy hour at 4 pm. It sounds expensive, but when you compare the square footage, amenities, and things, they're very comparable.

I toured Barrington of West Chester. It was good. I only dealt with one person, and she was nice. The dining area was nice. They did not have a variety of different types of dining. Other than that, everything was fine. They had activities like arts and crafts and games, plus a theater, a library, and a salon.

Visited the facility as an independent living choice for my mother. We were there on a Sunday. It was an impromptu visit. Staff was kind and toured us. The facility is beautiful and roomy. Very large so the resident needs to be able to walk long distances. The floor plans of the apartments were well thought out. Seems to have plenty of activities. It is located pretty far out for residents that still drive themselves to appointments. We loved it but it was out of our price range times two for independent living.

My top facility out of six that I visited for my friend was called The Barrington. This place was excellent. I would definitely go there if I needed to. I think it was the friendliest one I visited. The tour was great. The apartments were nice and big. It was just a very pleasant place to be in. They have lots of activities, bus trips, and games. In terms of living environment, I like the places they lived in. I love the dining room, which had waitress service there. They had a cocktail hour and a coffee morning. They had everything.

We visited Barrington and it was very nice. Everything looked clean and up-to-date like you would expect if you were renting an apartment. In fact, it is better than some apartment buildings. The lady that gave me a tour and who checked up on us and helped out as much as she could was excellent. She's very professional, warn and caring. They had a lot of amenities. They had coffee and pastries in the morning. They had a beautiful eating area that looked like a restaurant.

My mother-in-law lived in Barrington for three years. The physical building is beautiful. It's stunningly decorated and it is gorgeous. The people that live in the building are not friendly. The activities are – it’s next to nothing to do. My mother-in-law did not like it at all even though she picked it and it was beautiful. She wouldn’t go down for dinner because she does not like the food on a normal basis.

My mother moved into the independent living portion of Barrington two years ago. The facility is beautifully maintained and the staff are caring. This past February we had to step up her care to Assisted Living. At the onstart of this service there were several bumps (meds not given at the proper time, etc). Over the past 4 months, the Assisted Living help has improved; however, sometimes it feels as if there is no defiined administration of the staff or the methods to administer help. We have had one issue of an overpayment of rent and it was somewhat difficult to find out where the erroneously issued check had gone. But in the end it was all taken care of.....just took 6 phone calls. The chef at this facility is great; food very tasty and nutritious. Lots of activities for the residents. Overall a very nice facility.
