The rooms are generous size and at the time of this writing my parent has a private room. No communication with this facility as you have to go through a series of phone options just to get to the house where they reside; no one ever answers and it is frustrating. The only communication is when the bill is due. The food value is determined by who is elected to make it that day and meal times are sporadic. My parent is always disheveled, not shaven, and all personal towels have been "misplaced." The lone washcloth in the room had stool on it and a another cloth that looked like a mechanic rag was filthy. I would have hoped they would let me know when soap, razor, toothpaste, and other supplies are needed, but as I mentioned NO COMMUNICATION. Although from what I observe, all the staff, of what few I actually saw, like to text. Communication is so bad that at times I am tempted to call the police to do a wellness check on my parent. My parent seems content, but I on the other hand think the meals, the care, the cleanliness, and communication need much improvement.

I transferred my father to a different facility as soon as I could. My father is doing much better at the new facility and I am much happier and less anxious. This facility did not live up to the promise of special attention and care that they advertise in any way. There were too many issues, including but not limited to: my father had numerous injuries; the staff were often rude; the food was mostly heated from frozen items; there was no cleaning crew; the staff were overworked; my family’s and father’s confidentiality were not honored; etc.

I think Parkcliffe Alzheimer's Community is the homiest, the most practical, and the most reasonable in price. Their rooms were a nice size. Nothing is new there, but the staff seemed to be very friendly and very caring. That's the one I picked for my mom. I looked at the menu. You didn't get a choice of food each evening. They had one meal. The residents helped prepare it, and it was more like home. Parkcliffe is a series of group homes. They are homes, so I think they're based on more of a family type atmosphere rather than institutional. I picked them because I liked the staff. The people were not in their rooms sleeping. They're allowed to sleep as long as they want to, which I liked. There were activities going on there. I saw people playing cards, watching TV, or just doing what a typical 90-some-year-old would do. The price was the most reasonable. They were just more home like. I liked the home setting. There's a series of seven houses, so it's more of a home setting. I liked it.

Some of the staff treat the residents as more of a bother of their day. They're more reactive than proactive. Any activity or trips are few and far between.

My mother was in Parkcliffe Community at Northwood before. First of all, if you have a parent that can think, you don't put them in there. Their assisted living building wasn't an assisted living building like they said it was. Everybody in there needs help with everything, and they're very understaffed. They just can't give the quality service that needs to be given. But it's a good place if you want to settle down somewhere. It's like a big house where everybody has their own studio rooms, and there are three to four living rooms in the entire place. They don't have the activities like they said they did. I had to go there every day to make sure my mother was taken care of.

We have moved my parents into Parkcliffe Alzheimer's. It is a nice and very clean place. Their strong point is their memory care. It fits the bill for both my parents. My parents are on the second floor where they have a big living area with their own private bathroom. Off of their bedroom/living area is a big living room. The living room is shared with three other people. Parkcliffe is a good place. The staff members are very caring, very nice, and friendly. The food is good too. They have bingo, cooking classes, and church. They have outings where they take them to the zoo, and they take them to see the Toledo Mud Hens.

I am a daughter of one of the residents here. They have only been there for five days at this time. Despite fears that they would become withdrawn or physically abusive - none of this has occurred - they are calm and can easily be redirected when their behavior becomes a bit agitated or they are exit seeking. The staff are wonderful with patient calm demeanors, and are very "tuned into their residents. The resident's rooms are very roomy, with good space for the bed and other personal furniture. I have provided care for dementia patients in the past and I am quite impressed and reassured by my experience with Parkcliffe.

My husband is in Parkcliffe and it is strictly for Alzheimer's people. I am pleased with everything especially with the degree of care given there. The staff members are very devoted and they take very, very good care of him. He is a gentleman and easy to care for, but they do really care for him a lot, so that is good.

We recently moved my mother-in-law to Parkcliffe, and we have been very impressed with everything about it. Her room (and the whole house) is kept clean, and the caregivers let us know if she needs anything. She is adjusting well to living there.

Not a very clean facility, and they actually use wheel chaired people to keep residents out of kitchen..however, as my husband said; "Can you image taking care of this many 3 and 4 year old..so this is probably why it is not so clean. Also, my Aunt seems to happy here and at least all of them act similar.

Having a loved one with Alzheimer's is very disheartening so find a place where they would be treated with care and dignity was very important. The staff at Parkcliffe is very friendly and treats residents as family members instead of clients. The medical staff answered questions and are available for any family members who have questions or concerns. Parkcliffe is in a residential area, so it looks more like a home instead of being a nursing facility. The neighborhood is quiet and clean and the neighbors watch out for the staff and residents. Residents are taken to the nearby park for picnics and recreation.
