Since Dad has been a resident at Maumee Pointe, I have seen an increase in his happiness and moods. He speaks highly of all the staff and is truly enjoying himself - for the first time in many years. There are so many activities to choose from and each week, he seems to increase his choices. I am so glad that he is comfortable and enjoying himself. Moving Dad to Maumee Pointe has been the best decision for him and our family.

Maumee Pointe was nice. I think my parents decided on it. The best for us is the location, it's a clean establishment, and it's brand new. We saw the rooms. You enter and you have a kind of a living room and half dining room altogether there, but the other rooms were different. Some rooms lead out to the courtyard, which is pretty. Then some rooms just have one entranceway and a window. All of them had a window and the bathrooms were nice. The one that my mom and dad are going into is a Jack and Jill room. It means that you share the bathroom with a person adjacent to you. Everybody's nice. We saw the people dining, but we didn't participate. They had a brand new beautician spot where people can get their hair done, dried, and colored, which was nice. There are two different rec rooms, a big dining area, and a gigantic TV room, and in every corner of the building there's a small gathering with a couple of couches or loveseats to sit there, which is nice for the elderly because when they're walking and they want to sit down for a second because their legs hurt or where they just want to rest, it's always there for you.

Maumee Pointe was very nice. It was new so it was a lot nicer and a lot more modern than the other place I toured. The rooms were also more modern. The person who gave the tour was nice, I had no issues with her. We saw the dining area, but we did not taste any food or anything like that, it was pretty and it was an open dining area, it was nice. There were some people in the one area that we saw doing something, it seemed like they had lots of activities for people to do.

Maumee Pointe is brand-new. It's just opening, but so far, it looks like a good one. It's very beautiful and depending on the way the world is, I have trust in it. It's across the driveway of urgent care and a mile from a hospital. I think the layout is very good too. It's like sitting in a Florida condo. It's not overly big, and it's sunny and happy compared to so many of these depressing places. My father and his wife are living in an assisted living apartment there but the place also has memory care. They mostly have 1-bedrooms, a couple of 2-bedrooms, and some studios. They want to keep the residents engaged. They have a workout facility, raised bed gardens, a theater room, and a chapel. They've only been in there for 2 days now and the place is just opening. I think they only have 10 people there right now. I think it's worth a look for anybody. I had a little bit of their food the first day my parents were there and it seemed good. Because it's brand new, I think they will try to please. They're all expensive but it's probably the only one that I would trust to put my parents in, at this point. Times are really weird right now, so I don't feel comfortable with any of the other places.
