Mom moved to Manor at Perrysburg. The feel and everything has been fine. My mom's adjusting to living in a smaller place, but the place appears nice. The people are good and kind in trying to help her with the adjustment. They have entertainment and different things to do with holidays, and then they have people come in and they have some singing, which she enjoyed. They also have bingo, games, and things that they play with the residents. They have TVs in the individual bedrooms, and then they also have a larger room with those in it. They have a place where they have ice cream and different treats and desserts for the people there. The memory care staff has been very pleasant and accommodating.

Manor at Perrysburg has a lovely therapy department. It was an older facility, but it was a nice facility. Most of the rooms were 2-beds, semi private, and they were still the old style that was separated by a curtain. It was one of the few I visited that had the old style with the curtains that looked very nice. The staff, overall, we met was wonderful. They knew the patients and patients knew people by name. I was stopped by an elderly gentleman who was sitting with obviously his wife who was an Alzheimer’s memory person and he said, “Are you looking for a loved one?" I said I might be, and he said, “Well, I shouldn’t say this, but this is the best. We have been in 9 of them and this is wonderful and it is because of the people here. They are wonderful, and they treat you like loved ones. This is the best and don’t be taken in by how new a facility is or everything they tell you that they offer. It really depends on the care, and you get good care here”. He was an older gentleman, but very nicely dressed and well-groomed. We had the impression that he had been around and was probably giving his impression from the heart that they were very happy there. If you are looking for a facility for a loved one, and you wanted a very warm setting with a warm staff, I think you should at least give this place a tour. For an older facility, it is the only one I would have considered like. I am not looking for this kind of a facility, and yet I would have considered placing a loved one there. They also offered where you put your loved one there for a couple of days to try it out and if that didn’t work, it was OK.
