My mom was in Keystone Pointe for over 5 weeks for rehab. The facility itself is very nice and has no nursing home smell. Upon admission, the staff seemed friendly. It didn't take long, however, for our favorable first impressions to be changed, though. During Mom's stay the room was not kept clean. Mom often couldn't get the attention of a nurse or aide when she needed pain medication or other help, even by pressing her call button. If we, the family, had questions or concerns and called the facility, the call would go to voicemail, and then no one would call us back. My mom was discharged with extremely limited mobility, and we were not given sufficient instruction to care for her-- a violation of mandatory protocol. This was our experience: Nice facility, but inattentive staff, poor care, and abysmal communication. My family would not recommend Keystone Pointe if you are looking for quality care for your loved one.

Provided good care for my father. Dad lived at home until 3 months ago with a stroke. He came here after our doctor recommended them. Keystone did a very good job, helped him get better and got him back home.

Dad came here after a significant illness. He was at Keystone for about 2 months. The staff there were great. Nurses kept a good watch on him, therapy got him walking better than he has in about 18 months. He got to enjoy the staff and food was good. The nurses and doctor did a good job getting him better so he could return to his AL.

My mom was a resident at Keystone Pointe for 2 months this spring. Her doctor recommended Keystone after she had a stroke and was hospitalized at EMH. I cannot say enough good things about Keystone, staff are wonderful, nurses were attentive and therapy got her walking again.

My dad came here after being in IL and another snf. He did wonderful at Keystone. Moved out here to be closer to us. Keystones speech therapists got a lot of his stroke effects to be diminished, he can swallow well again and we understand him well. Nice people work there.

Yes, we did visit the facility, rooms are nice & spacious. Unfortunately, there are three administrator's there that need an attitude adjustment. We call to see how our family resident is doing since we live out of state. We were told by two different administrator's because we had questions & concerns that perhaps we should put family resident elsewhere! We get the feeling they do NOT really like us calling. We would say they are UNDER STAFFED. One nurse for 34 rooms & at the most two or three aids. A doctor comes in only once a month, one nurses aid that comes in three quick mornings a week. We ask that they please call & give input to no avail. So we call there & get hurry up answers from nurse or snide remarks from administrator's. Are they hiding something? Shop hard before you put a family member in a nursing home.

My mother was in a room for 5 months, not the first room, after that length of time was moved from there into another room saying the one they moved her from was short stay. She has dementia and is so confused again as where she is and what she's doing there. Talked to the lady in charge and she just got smart and told me they can move her as many times as they see fit. My mother needs to be in a room that the temp. Is always warm and to be where she knows her surroundings other then being moved when they feel like it

No stars, my mother-in-law in palliative care scenario at 96 years old , after settling in it was 3 hours before we saw site of a aid or nurse only after hunting them down... no one knew her circumstances... After 8 hours in we moved her out and in a hospice setting where there's more than one nurse per 100 patients.. Don't go there unless all you need is a bed..

I wish I could give this place zero stars. My grandfather was admitted here knowing that he was terminally ill with brain cancer. The staff was rude, and uncaring. In fact, someone outright yelled at my grandmother about what she "was and was not going to do". I was appalled. in addition, they were negligent in their care of my grandfather. If that were not enough, after my grandfather passed away, my grandmother stopped by the nursing home with some paperwork from her nursing home insurance. The administrator REFUSED to fill it out, and told my grandmother that she was not wasting time and money filling out the paperwork for her because neither she nor the nursing home would get any money from it. I'm pretty sure that it is against the law for her to be making judgment calls like that! My mom had to call and talk to the lady at the nursing home, threaten to call the state of Ohio before they would fill out the paperwork. This has put undo stress on my grandmother both while my grandfather was so ill, and after his passing. Please do not send your loved one here!!!!

I believe that care is an important part of assisted living facilities, but compassion is the most compelling attribute. This facility not only has compassionate staff, but also reach out to families who are in need of assisted living.

Our experience at Keystone Pointe leads me to warn any person considering this facility for cardiac rehabilitation to please reconsider. I cannot comment on the care of the nursing residents but there is a total lack of skill and competence in addressing the needs of a cardiac patient transitioning from the hospital to home. What was diagnosed as a"bug" by the nurse practitioner at Keystone Pointe was, in fact a pulmonary embolism, fluid overload and a bacterial infection. Had we not insisted on transporting to the ER, our family member would not have survived.

Overall this is a very good nursing home. The key is always ask questions and voice concerns to the top nurses or director of nursing, or administrator. Never a nurses aide as they might not get info back to the proper people. They always seem to be short handed. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions or concerns. They are your loved ones and ultimately you are paying for their care, through the depletion of their funds, or the state there after. This will end up with you feeling much better when you know they are listening.

My mother was at Keystone Pointe I was completely happy with the loving care and the intellect of the nurses. My mother was doing fine and one day a nurse noticed a subtle sign that something was not right. She responded quickly and effectively. My mother had a pulmonary embolism and if she had not noticed, it is likely that my mother would not have made it. Keystone Pointe has an incredible staff. I have seen alot of facilities that can't even be put any where near the same level as Keystone Pointe. I've heard alot of people complain when things aren't perfect well there are alot of dumps in lorain county and if you really want to complain go to one of those places. I would gladly refer any of my friends or family here. Before you bring a family member to any facility understand that they are not the only resident in the building. I have seen the employees bust their butts trying to provide care to every resident in a timely fashion and sometimes they aren't able to spring into the room seconds after the call light goes on. Be patient because when they get there they make you feel like you are special. THANK YOU KEYSTONE POINTE FOR ALL OF THE LOVING CARE AND EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!!!

I would just like to say that if you take a family member to this facility and have any problems or concerns you MUST talk only with the nurse in charge. If you only talk to the regular nurses or techs you will probably not get any answers or solutions. Unfortunately I found out this little piece of information out too late and my family member died. There were so many times that I had a concern and I was told "I will pass that information on" after finally tired of that phrase I went to the nurse in charge but it was too late.
