My mom was at Brookdale Westlake Village. She had since passed away, but the time she was there, she was there for skilled nursing. I think it was pretty good. The staff members were very good. The facilities were very good, too. My mom had meals there, but I didn't eat any of the food. I wouldn't say it was great, but it was okay. They would occasionally give you a menu, but my mother was not able to write herself, so we would have to fill out menus but we didn't always see the menus, and so that was our only complaint. Otherwise, the people were nice, and the facility was clean and well-maintained, but I felt there was just a little bit of a lack of communication on the meals.

I toured Brookdale Westlake Village. I don't live very far from there, and I had no idea about the expansive services that they had. The overall impression of the entire continuum of care was very lively, and the residents were all very happy. The workers were all very kind. I toured the whole facility, and there were all kinds of activities going on. I think for me, the amount of staff that they had compared to other places that I have toured and seen was one of the things that stuck out with me. They had a ton of staff and they were all very happy and willing to say hello. Specifically with assisted living, I was very impressed by the fact that they pair residents together based on their level of where they are. And so they don't just automatically say today's bingo and all 20 people have to do bingo, and that's the only option. They have different options for different levels of each person. They had incorporated things into what the residents used to do. So they had like a little tool kit working station because one of the residents used to work as an engineer. They had a little putting green because one of the guys liked to golf. So it just was very specialized. You could tell that they were doing things for the patients and the families as opposed to just trying to make money.

Our family had a horrible experience with Brookdale at Westlake Village Assisted Living. Our father was a resident for approximately 7 months and there were constant care problems throughout the entire residency. The facility appears nice, but there is no follow through or reliable and consistent standard of care provided by management, nurses, care aides, and support staff. Ultimately, we had to hire around the clock private care aides until we relocated our father because the care and services provided were constantly unreliable and inadequate.

Our tour of Brookdale Westlake Village was excellent. The girl that showed us around was Shannon, and she was very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. The place looked clean and it felt comfortable. They had transportation services, laundry services, and weekly housekeeping. They had internet in the rooms, a beauty/barbershop, a library with computers and internet, and outdoor gardening areas. They had a choir performing while I was there. They had entertainment come in at least once a week. They also had exercises and fitness programs.

Brookdale Westlake Village was the first one we went to. I liked the location. It was a very nice facility. It's new and it's all state of the art, but the price tag came along with the bells and whistles. Everything was extra. Although it was really nice, it was still an institutional feeling. The staff member who gave the tour was Billy, and he was awesome. He was really good and very informative. They would allow my dad to have a cat, but it was like an extra $800 just to bring a cat in there. Also, there's a one-time community fee for anybody that goes in. They had a garden patio that was open in the summertime, and they had a beauty salon there too.

My sister and I were very impressed with Brookdale Westlake Village. Kim was the one who gave us the tour and she was nice. The staff that we met was excellent. The place was beautiful. It was very open. All the rooms had a lot of windows, so it was very bright and very homey. Most of their units had just a stovetop. But they had a room that had an oven that you can use to make cookies or pies. They had a lot of activities. Their menu looked very good. They had a nice-sized dining room. It's just really a very appealing assisted living facility. We spoke to a few of the residents who used to live in other places, but they settled on Brookdale Westlake Village.

I had a friend in rehab at Brookdale Westlake Village. She was there for several weeks. The experience was good. It's a nice facility. The building is light, airy, and newly remodeled. The staff are very competent. They also have good connections with outside medical care that comes in. The food is good. The building is clean, bright, and easily accessible. They have a nice ground with a pond and geese. They have activities. They have dining rooms. They have transportation. We didn't have any difficulties with the staff. They're a little on the higher side there, but they're reasonable.

We toured Brookdale Westlake Village. We met with the residents over lunch. We ate there and it was pretty good. The staff who toured us was very attentive and well-informed. We saw the calendar of events and there seemed to be different kinds of activities. They have a courtyard, a salon, and a movie theater, and they take people on trips. They also offer transportation to doctor visits or anywhere you want to sign up.

The Brookdale Westlake Village was nice, but when they took us through the memory care, it was just depressing. The rooms were okay, but there was nothing special. The grounds were nice but the place was older. The staff was also nice and things like that but when you compare apples to apples, it just wasn't anywhere near the place we chose for my mom. They showed me through everything in the facility.

Everyone in Brookdale Westlake Village is very nice, very friendly, very helpful, and social. My father's always very complimentary of them. The facilities are very clean. The food is good. There's very good security as far as locking all the doors when COVID started. You have to come in through the front, so they can control who's there and the contact they have with the residents. They have a fitness room, a beauty parlor, activities, a church ministry on Sundays, card playing in the lounge, and a van that takes them on outings. They also have a room where you can put all your things (like storage) that belongs to every unit. I thought that was really nice. The place is very clean, too.

My mom is doing very well at Brookdale Westlake Village. We liked the closeness of everybody that's in there. The staff pretty much knew everybody. When they were walking down the hall, they spoke to everybody by name. The facilities are very nice. It's easy to get around and the apartment that my mother got was almost identical to the one she was renting out in town. It was a little bit smaller, but the layout was exactly the same, so it wasn't a big change for her. They do quite a few activities, such as crafts and bus trips to go out and eat or go to Wal-Mart. They were very accommodating for everything that we needed. Their price beat everybody that I went to.

I had the worst time there. Horrible staff that liked to give attitude. Honestly think had two good nurses and one good aid. Physical therapist that lifted my shorts to see a scar on thigh after showed her once before that. Came to point when wanted out even if killed me. Think hurt feelings there cus didn't want to do assistide living there after horrible time in skilled nursing. There is much more could say but space is limited. Watch your relatives if there.

I toured Brookdale Westlake Village for my wife, and the staff was very helpful. The place was clean, neat, orderly, and well arranged. They seem to have all the staff to help. They have everything we would need, like a nurse on duty and so on. They had several garden areas, depending on which drive you went down there. There were several different drives. They were very neat and well kept; they were working on one of them when I was there. It was very well maintained.

We toured the Brookdale Westlake Village. From what I've seen, the staff seemed nice and we got along very good. It's nice and clean, and some people there were friendly. It felt like home. It was just a great environment.

Care is poor to non-existent. There is one aide in the entire building. Wait time for help often exceeds an hour. On weekends there is often no nurse on duty. No one answers the phone at the front desk or the front door. They do not clean the room, just run a sweeper. The aide is always different, never the same, and never friendly. The food is always cold and not very good. There were no trips and very few activities.

Brookdale Westlake Village is a level two facility. They are capable of managing an elderly person until the end of their life. It is divided into memory care, assisted living, independent living, and skilled nursing. However, it is dated and in an unacceptable condition of repair considering the cost of occupancy. They have old carpeting. It smelled old, looked old, and it had rotting exterior siding, but they are in the process of painting it.

My mom started her journey in the Independent Living section of Westlake Village and we loved our time there. My mom made so many friends here and each neighbor was better than the next. My mom was very nervous moving here because my dad has just passed away, but the staff there set my mom up with other residents to help mom mom get acclimated. Mom's needs increased and we were sad to leave her IL apartment and apprehensive to move to assisted living but what makes this move easier is that its on the same campus. My mom has the option to continue to see her IL friends and some have moved with her to this environment. The nurses and caregivers have all been great and really make each person feel special. You can really tell that the staff loves what they do, they are so happy. The management team is always present and willing to listen. The activities on campus are many, residents can go on bus trips, shopping and out to eat. My family loves Westlake Village and are so happy with our decision to move my mom here!

Extremely poor care: uses temporary agency staff that aren't familiar with your loved ones needs, untrained aides (not licensed stna's), don't regularly have nurses overnight, very poor response time to call buttons.... needed I say more? How about that they didn't provide my family member with ANY of the antibiotics they were discharged from the hospital with!?

When I went to Brookdale Westlake Village, I encountered them dealing with a resident who needed help and I was very impressed. However, the apartments were dreary. They had a really great exercise class and I liked the facility a lot. My biggest drawback was it was 15 minutes in good traffic, 20 minutes when not from my house. The staff was wonderful and followed up with me several times. The activities were great. I've seen their bus and their activity schedule was full.

My sister has moved into Brookdale Westlake Village. So far, it has been very positive. Her apartment has an entire different feel because it is on a corner with windows all around it. You go the kitchen and it opens up into the dining area and living room. The bedroom is off the living room sort of at an angle. It is a 2-bedroom but the other room is just for her art work. It is perfect for her. Brookdale Westlake Village take my sister's large dog, which is an 80-pound Golden Retriever who has therapy experience. We had three letters of recommendations from different doctors, and they took him. Everything is going well and all the people love him. There are also lots of activities that my sister is enjoying. She is doing some exercise class and Bible study. She seems to be doing well, and she is meeting a lot of people. It is a much more interactive environment than when she was at home by herself. She doesn't talk about her health anymore; she talks about what she is doing there. It is a very positive thing. They also have have physical therapy and a doctor that my sister can go to and she doesn't have to leave the place. They provide transportation to her doctor's appointment and dentist's appointment. They have buses that take the residents to lots of grocery stores in the area. They can provide at an extra charge in-home care like if you need someone to check if she took her medication. There is a whole spectrum from independent to assisted to memory care to rehab and skilled nursing, all in the same environment, which is very helpful.

The meal at Brookdale Westlake Village was surprisingly good. The place was even nicer. There were some parties when I was there, and they had some visitors playing music. It was terrific. The woman, Cara, was very nice and very professional.

We toured Brookdale Westlake Village. Everything was very nice. The bathrooms were very accommodating for the disabled. Everything was accommodating as far as I'm concerned. They did have two-bedroom and two-baths, and we want to get into that. The staff, who accommodated us, was very good. I enjoyed her very much. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. One of the things we like about the community is that they have Catholic Mass. They have a restaurant, which is is very elegant and very nice. I enjoyed the meal. You can order off a menu for your meals.

Brookdale Westlake Village is a very nice facility, but it's expensive. The staff is very nice and the rooms are very much like a regular apartment. They're not institutional-looking and are very nice. They have exercise and cards.

The nursing home of Brookdale Westlake Village was excellent. The staff was very good, and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. They had a lot of activities. I highly recommend them. The place was big, and the layout was in sections. It was continuing care, so they had three different buildings all connected together. The skilled nursing's dining room was pretty basic, the assisted living's dining room was bigger, and independent living's dining was even bigger. They had a church there, which my mom liked. It was a very good place.

Brookdale didn’t accept motorized wheelchairs in the dementia Alzheimer’s unit, and the only other option I had was assisted living with no memory care. I didn’t see a 1 bedroom at all; they had nothing available. I didn’t like what was available to me.

Brookdale Westlake Village is well cared for. They have a wonderful staff. They have all three levels of care there. They have therapy onsite. My parent is in personalized living, so that’s nice. They have nice activities. The staff is very friendly. They’re very good. They’re very attentive. The rooms are all updated and new. When there’s anything wrong, the repair people attend to it right away, so that’s good.

Brookdale Westlake Village (Formerly Westlake Village) was pleasant, comfortable, and cheerful and they had friendly staff. My parents will be moving in the spring. The rooms were very roomy, larger than other places we looked at. I would recommend them. There was a lecture going on in one of the rooms. There were a few people in the dining area having lunch, and they looked good. The gym was nice and larger than the other places, but no pool. It's also closer to family.

I just felt that the people at Brookdale Westlake Village were very nice, and the facility was very beautiful and brand new, so it was a nice experience. We didn't get into it a whole lot, but they have activities everyday going on where they involve the residents, so they have stuff going on everyday for them. It had a nice, open concept -- a nice big open area, nice comfy living room that was nice and big, and a nice big kitchen-dining area. It was just a very homey feel.

I went to visit Brookdale Westlake Village, and I like everything about the place except that it was too expensive for me. They do have many activities, but I don’t like their activities really. I am not interested in games; I don’t like cards. I also don’t like the view from the window; it just looks out into a parking lot. I like to have a look at a grass or a little river or something like that, but it's still a beautiful place inside.

Westlake Village is a very nice facility. Their staff is very friendly. They're more intelligent and educated than a lot of the people I deal with. I just really like their enthusiasm, and they’re caring towards the people that lived there. My mom's a retired school teacher, Porter library is a big deal in her life, and they have a bus that goes out weekly. The Porter Library also comes to the facility once a month with books, and my mom too enjoys that. They will drive my mom to go visit her sister that's in the dementia ward in another facility. They will take her anywhere she needs to go for shopping. They have art activities; they have an art room, and my mom is also an artist so she enjoys that. They have a book club, and there are other activities that go on that my mom does not partake.

I liked Westlake Village but it was a little more expensive. The facility looked like it was kept very well and it was very clean. What I liked the most was they had a patio for each apartment and that was nice. We checked out an apartment and it was very nice. They had nice menu posted and they had a lot of activities going on. The lady who took us on tour was very nice, very helpful, and friendly. I saw one of the exercise classes going on and they seem to be getting along fine and they were all talking and interacting -- I thought it was very good. It was an attractive, friendly, and homey place.

I only saw Westlake Village once, but it looked like a resort place and like you're going into a big hotel. It was definitely grand in respect to its presentation. It would entice a lot of people just walking in the door, and my wife and I both agreed that in respect to just that, we could have made the decision. That was the first place we checked out and we could have said yes, let's go here. The woman who showed us around there was extremely nice. The rooms were excellent. I would recommend that place.

I had a very good experience at Westlake Village. Both of the individuals that I talked to were able to answer my questions. They were wiling to sit down and go over the financial aspects with me and looked at the options and alternatives. I took my mom to visit it and she really liked it. Although, I thought it was a lot larger than what I wanted for my Mom because I thought she needed a smaller environment to get better, I felt comfortable with them. With my few visit there, I got the impression that everybody was happy and was receiving the level of care that they needed. I was hoping to get her in but did not got the chance to do so.

My grandmother was put into this facility after her hospitalization. The staff at Westlake Village were more than happy to help her out with everyday activites/chores. I was always greeted with a smile from these people, and they were always more than willing to make me and my grandmother comfortable there.

The women at the front desk are very nice and always greet you when you walk in. My grandma stays on the first floor. Her room is a little small but they are kept nice clean and offer room service. I went to dinner with my grandma at the dining hall. They have three different times that you can choose from to go to. The meal was decent, could of been a little warmer but overall it was pretty good. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. The waiters were all dressed up in white button ups and ties just like at a fancy restaurant. They also had a salad bar available for the residents. They hold concerts in the main room by the front doors. They also have a recreational room where they have bingo nights or any other type of event like that. Overall I think this is one of the better retirement homes that I have seen.

This is one of the nicest retirement communities I have been to. When my grandfather first moved in, I remember thinking how nice his new apartment was, and hoping that he would take advantage of all the social activities and trips that the staff at Westlake Village plan for the residents. It took him a little bit of time to adjust, but he ended up fitting in just fine there and make a lot of friends. He was very happy while he was living there. If you are considering Westlake Village for yourself or someone you love, I would recommend it. The only thing to keep in mind is that they do not provide assisted-living services. When my grandfather fell and broke his hip, he had to move to somewhere that provided help with daily activities such as bathing and using the restroom. Staff members do check on residents, though--that's how we were able to find out so quickly that he fell!

This is a beautiful facility both inside and outside. It provides a warm and exciting atmosphere for its residents. There are many opportunities for the residents to mingle, enjoy activities and take day trips. I was especially impressed with the variety of meals offered to the residents. The dinner menu included about six different entree options. The dinning room was bright and the staff seemed very friendly. The facility also offers cleaning services for the residents' rooms. There are opportunities for religious services at the facility. Additionally, the facility provides transportation to various churches in the area. The transportation schedule also includes regular trips to the local grocery stores and drug stores. The residents can opt to schedule transportation to necessary doctor or dentist appointments. I believe this is an excellent facility providing extensive services to their residents. I would be happy to have my family member living at Westlake Village.
