I am/was a resident of this facility

General upkeep of property. In the last 6 months more and more tenants have been rented to that are not able to care for themselves. They have family members or care givers taking care of them. Not only do we have people roaming the halls at all hours, going in and out to smoke, but the odors from the diapers and soiled linens is really bad. there is no Bio Hazzard waste for the disposal of these items, and they are discarded in the trash room along with all the other trash. I have has many guest come over and comment on the smell, some have even said their parent lives in a nursing home that smells better. Management has been made aware , but do nothing but rent out apartments to more disabled tennants. This is not a Senior retirement place anymore, but a Nursing Home that is cheaper than any in the area. The pets that they are allowing no longer meet the origional pet policy. This month they rented to someone who has 2 dogs, a Rotwiller and a Bull Mastif, both living with a couple in a one bedroom apartment. Dog peed in elevator on the way down, and owner acted like it was nothing, did not even bother to clean it up. I do not feel safe getting into the elevator with them, as the owner has a hard time restraining them on the leash. Management stated they were not aware they had 2 dogs, well they broke the lease by not claiming the dogs, but management will not have them removed. Owners of the building cannot be contacted, as 1they are not listed anywhere that can be found. Everything has to go thru the site manager, who is usually not on site. Wonderful place when I moved in, very happy to live here, but can't wait for lease to be up so I can move.

I went to look at Homestead Village. It's a very nice and secure place. When I first walked up to the building, they had those pillars in front, and it was like walking to the White House. It was welcoming. The lady who showed me around was so sweet, kind, and helpful. I couldn't afford it. It is a place that does not go by your income, but they are reasonable if I could afford it. The residents there seemed very friendly. They have a hair salon, a library, and a coffee cafe.

The one place that I think would be best suited for my mother is Homestead Village. I chose them because of the staff, it was new, and it had some great amenities that would be good for my mom. The rooms were a little small. I wish there's a little bit more square footage or whatever, but the rooms were nice. We looked at a two-bedroom, so it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small living room, and a dining room kitchen combination. Aside from the size of the little apartments, there were nice and clean. They have a post office, a hair salon, a pet grooming facility, a fitness center, and a business office where the tenants have access to fax machines, computers, and stuff like that. Those are just some of the things that they have available to them right there on the property.

I chose to move to Homestead Village Active Living because they allow pets and they have a dog run. They have walk-in showers, which is very important for me. The staff members are very attentive and caring. I make my own food. They have some activities for everybody like bingo, bible studies, and crafts. The upkeep of the facility is great. They have a courtyard, a laundry room, a beauty salon, and a computer room.

Homestead is a senior community and they have really nice apartments. The problem was my mom felt like it was more like a hotel, because she would have no outside exit. It was very nice, but that's not someplace she wanted to go. I thought it was awesome, and that if I was 70 years old, I would like to live there. You would never have to leave home. You could have your groceries delivered. They got a salon and a doggy bath place too. They got a post office, a library, a cafeteria, a banquet hall, and a dog park. The place is laid out so nicely. The apartments are super nice and the bathrooms are huge. I loved it. They got all those storage places that I liked a lot. The lady who we toured with was awesome. I loved her, she was super nice. She said that she would try to negotiate things with ownership. She said the owners wanted to make everything very comfortable and good for their residents. They're dog friendly and they have activities too. I can't say enough good things about them.

We toured Homestead Village, and it looked great. We loved the community area. We chose it because of the amenities of the common area in regard to having a place to gather with other residents, especially in bad weather. They have a concierge, and they have a residence council. Not a lot of places have a resident's council. They were very accommodating, and they seem nice. They have office hours during the day. My mother-in-law hasn't moved in yet, but from what we've seen so far it looks nice. The facility itself is new; it opened in July of last year. They're doing stuff like bingo. They have a craft room. It's 24-hour accessible to residents. They do different things. They have a DIY dog washing station for residents who have dogs. They have a salon by appointment only, a wellness center by appointment only, a game room, and a library. There is a family room, too. The atrium is almost like a Parisian street with the carpet looking like cobblestones, and there's seating in the atrium and a fountain. My mother-in-law alluded like it was like being on a street in Paris. It's shiny and smells new.
