My mom is in memory care I feel she’s not being well taken care of I picked her up she smells like urine and her room isn’t cleaned like it should’ve been I’ve seen caregivers sitting at a table with some kind of video playing and chatting all the elderly sits in front of tv. They should clean their rooms if they don’t have anything to do I hear from others how great Storypoint is I think it’s more of assisted living that’s so wonderful in memory care I’m not so sure.

My mom moved to StoryPoint Grove City. When I talked with these people, it sounded so nice and they would make sure she got out of her room and did activities and it just sounded wonderful. They have a bunch of activities to do, although I've never seen anybody do them. The place is gorgeous and I put my mom in memory care because she has early dementia therefore she would have more eyes on her and she's non-ambulatory. So, she is in total care. That's not a place for total care but the director of nursing came down to Chillicothe and talked with her, saw her, knew what she had, what kind of care she had to have, and said, it would be a great match. Well, they don't. I've asked my mother several times. Did you go to an activity? She has early dementia, so she still knows what's going on and she says, no. I come in and she's slumped over or she's almost naked laying in bed. The door is shut. The room is so hot. The window blinds are closed. They didn't give her CPAP for at least the first three days. I don't know if they do or not because they deem that the CPAP and the oxygen are the same thing and it is not. So, I lost it the first day because her room looked like a train had run through it. That was my reaction, and I have apologized although they've never forgiven me because they still treat me like I am the enemy. They have a salon. They have a spa.

I toured StoryPoint Grove City. The staff was very pleasant, very nice, and very helpful. I saw the interactions that the staff had with the residents there. They were very friendly. They knew the residents. They asked questions, which I thought was wonderful, that they take an interest in their residents and what's going on with them. The person who gave the tour was well-knowledged on the items there. The facility was beautiful. The rooms were well-appointed. They were large in capacity. I was surprised. I was thinking of it being more like a hospital size room, and it wasn't. It had enough room to have a sitting area and a bedroom, which is enough because of the amenities that they have outside that room. So, I was very impressed.

We really love everything about Story Point. The apartments are beautiful, the building is clean, and the staff go out of their way to be sure that dad is cared for in the assisted living area. His care team works collaboratively with us to be sure that all of his needs are met as he continues to live independently. We highly recommend!

How do you ease the transition of a an elderly couple married over 70 years to a new state and a new home? You bring them to Storypoint in Grove City. My parents moved from New York to Ohio to live in an apartment at Storypoints community. The facility is amazing. Their apartment is home to them and to their family who come visit regularly. Having dinner included each night has increased their socialization, and they enjoy hearing the life stories of their neighbors over a relaxing meal. The use of their pharmacy service has taken care of counting and allocating medication‘s as well as regular trips to pick up refills. Processes and facilities make a difference, but it’s the staff who creates a culture where my parents are seen and appreciated for what they bring to the community as well as knowing there’s always someone close by to assist. Peace of mind and a helping hand is needed at every stage of life but is especially important when you are in your 90s. Storypoint provides both to my parents which helps our entire family

The apartments are very spacious and well appointed. Lots of windows for natural light. Impressed that each apartment has a patio or balcony. There are many activities residents can get involved in, including card clubs, bible studies, coffee chats, yoga, and so much more. Live music can often be heard, as many musicians are scheduled to perform throughout the week. The food is very good and the culinary department offers a wide variety of cuisine. Residents can even get “to go” orders if they don’t feel like eating in the formal dining room or cafe. The staff is amazing, kind, helpful and empathetic. I highly recommend this community if you’re looking for independent, assisted or memory care living.

My mother is in StoryPoint Grove City. It's excellent. It's very clean and well taken care of. I have no problems. Caring staff, but high turnover. Well-prepared meals and large portions. They have activities in her unit, but there's not a lot of participation. They offer cooking, arts, and balloon tossing.

The staff at StoryPoint goes above and beyond to create a safe, active, loving, and positive environment. My grandma especially loved the activities. Every day she was kept busy with activities ranging from Bingo, to exercise, to cards, and a variety of crafts. She never became bored, because the staff always found ways to keep things new and fresh. As a result of the activities she was able to quickly create new friendships with residents and with staff. When my grandma needed extra care, the entire staff was incredibly helpful and communicative, making things easier for not just my grandma, but our entire family. The bond my grandma had with the team of people who make StoryPoint run was very special. She was loved by them and loved them in return. They became a second family to all of us, and we are forever grateful to them for my Grandma's time at StoryPoint so filled with love and fun.

My wife is in the Memory Care Unit and I finally feel that I have found the right place for her to call home. It is difficult enough being away from my wife of 47 years: my soulmate: my love. To be able to entrust her care is miraculous. I am there daily. The residents and caregivers are now our family. The food, the care, the staff: are wonderful! Thank you.

The rooms are well taken care of. The staff is friendly & helpful. Some maintenance issues have been ignored & not fixed. However- all in all the facility is a great choice for your elderly family, it could use some improvements, especially for the price paid.

This review will be open and honest to hopefully help others considering relocating a family member to StoryPoint. I looked at other facilities and the food selections were very limited although the price was a little less. If you look at the price of what you pay these days to eat at a fast food restaurant, the quality of food that is offered at StoryPoint vs the cost is very competitive and for the most part far superior to what is offered at other local assisted living facilities. This was very important to me because elderly individuals who are limited in their abilities to enjoy daily activities that most of us take for granted look forward to something exquisite like a wonderful meal to bring a little sunshine into their day. And yes no one at any facility including StoryPoint will be able to make every meal perfect exactly the way your loved one is used to eating at home every meal and there are so many people each with their unique likes and dislikes that vary to such a degree that it just isn't possible to satisfy everyones desires at every meal. But the kitchen staff and chefs at StoryPoint do attempt to provide a variety that most individuals will enjoy most of the time. And it is perfectly acceptable for friends and family members to supplement the meals at StoryPoint whenever they like with home cooked meals from home or from other restaurants that can be kept in the fridge or freezer in each unit and warmed up in the microwave if the resident desires an even more diverse selection of meals to satisfy their desires. My next concern was that I wanted my family member to be able to live his remaining days in an environment that was as close to living at home as possible. StoryPoint offers that opportunity with 24 hour access. The key point to remember is that this is an Assisted living facility not a nursing home. With that said the employees try very hard to assist everyone with their needs but there is not an employee for each resident at their beck and call. If you desire that for your loved one you won't find it anywhere in this area that I have seen except maybe at home. Even the nursing homes don't provide that type of service. Instead they make it extremely difficult to access your loved one and from what I witnessed the caregivers were cold and callused from families who dumped their loved ones on others at the nursing homes and showed no interest in helping to be sure the loved ones needs were met. As it turned out my family member requires a lot more assistance than what is contracted at StoryPoint. I arrived from out of town and was not prepared to provide the assistance at home that is needed. After determining what the staff at StoryPoint could realistically provide given the usual downfalls associated with this type of setting at any facility such as finding enough qualified motivated staff members to fullfill all of the necessary positions on a daily basis. Then watching them attempt to meet everyones needs going from room to room cleaning up accidents that require clothing changes, bedding changes, showers etcetera along with some family members and residents who are very demanding who expect that everything should be done immediately and nothing else could be more imortant and may need to wait while other issues some of which may be life threatening are addressed for other residents. I soon realized that my options were to either keep my family member at StoryPoint and pay for someone to assist the staff as needed to meet my family members unique needs and fullfill his daily wants such as non stop coffeee throughout the day or hire a private nurse to care for him at a private facility 24/7. I chose to keep my family member at StoryPoint with indivduals who have displayed years of experience working outside the box acheiving results to meet the needs of the elderly which can be very challenging at times while myself and other family members take an active approach and assist whenever possible during the daylight hours so my family member feels comfort during his final days of life here on earth. Basically what I'm trying to say is this facility has a lot more to offer than most in the area which is a good resource to draw upon to custom tailor a unique living environment for your loved one. And the management of each department here will stop at a moments notice and guide you through the abyss of the unknown world of assisted living for the elderly if you just take the time to ask. And what really put me at ease was everything that was put into the contracted agreement was honored exactly as agreed upon with no wishy washy excuses why the contract needed to be changed later. If you do find something you don't like about your experience here be proactive and think about what you can do or contribute to make the experience more rewarding and the staff will be more than happy to join together and assist you with making improvements whenever possible. I have no regrets about choosing StoryPoint and if you are realistic about what you expect from this facility I feel that you will find your family member's stay at StoryPoint to be very rewarding as well.

StoryPoint has been a true blessing to our family. The decision to sell/move my mother-in-law out of her home was difficult but was the best decision for her. She has truly thrived at StoryPoint where she is an active part of the community, including serving as an ambassador to new residents. The relationships she has forged with management, staff, outside caregivers, residents and even residents' families are priceless. I can say for certain that StoryPoint has extended her life and her quality of life. Dining with friends daily is one of the most important parts of her day. The myriad of activities throughout the day and some evenings keeps her busy and her mind sharp. Bingo is her favorite activity, but she also enjoys ceramics, concerts, game nights, choir, chair exercises, and book club (and yes, there are more!). The one-bedroom apartment is the perfect size for her and StoryPoint provides light housekeeping twice a month. The emergency call cords in the bathroom and the bedroom give us peace of mind that should she need help, it will arrive shortly. She absolutely loves the community and counts it as part of her family.

The level of care mess has gotten less since the first year our mother was in placed there. The room she is in look neglected on many different levels. Soiled clothes, dirty bathroom, falling down curtains (they still are). Soiled carpet and furniture from our mother having accidents. Finding prescription pills in the bed and on the floor. The interaction with the aids are ok. We don’t like the changes that were made with the aids who have built a relationship, bonded and trust with the patient who saw them everyday. I express and requested an aid to be brought back who had taken care of our mother for the last couple of years. We were Disappointed it never happened. Communications among the staff is not great. Especially when our mother had appointments outside of the community. Our mother wasn’t ready along with med list.

My mother moved to independent living at Story Point Grove city in June 2022 with her husband. She needed daily assistance with all tasks and we were happy to know Laurus home care was on site. She received multiple visits daily from the staff. This group of ladies, lead by Chereka and Shea, were nothing but the BEST. Mom loved eached of them and they did a great job. Mom's health declined quickly and she was moved to the assisted living side on March 14th 2023 (her 72nd birthday). When I signed the lease for this move, Tiffany, Executive Director, made mom's move in day special by decorating her room with happy birthday decor and balloons and banners both in the hall and the room. While in assisted living, the staff there went above and beyond. After only being there a few short weeks, mom could not swallow any longer and we knew the end was near. Hospice communicated with the AL team and the team did exactly as hospice required. My brother and I were staying round the clock so our mother did not pass alone. When the staff from the independent living side heard mom's days were short, after or before their shift, they visited, said kinds words for her, prayed with/for her, held her hand, brushed her hair..... all things they didn't have to do but they did because they cared for mom. We had a camera in mom's room and several days we could see Kylie (mom's favorite caregiver in AL) sitting with mom talking to her and cleaning her face and brushing her hair. Kylie was doing all of this BEFORE she even clocked in to work. She would come early just to make sure she got to spend time with our mom. This is what makes this a great place. Tiffany, Chereka, Shea, Kylie, Allison,Alisha, Brandi (AL and IL)Billie, Amber, Jamie, Vicky, Amie, and Mindy, our family thanks you all for your care, support, and going above your duty to care for our mother in her final days. I know there were some rough times, especially with her pillow,(LOL) but you all helped her endlessly. Even being short staffed (which EVERYWHERE is right now) you all rocked it! Thank you Storypoint for everything you have done. We appreciate it!!

The entire Memory Care staff is amazing . We had an urgent need for my mother in law who is a resident to see her son before he passed away . I called in the AM and by 1:00 she and I were in a transport bus on our way to visit him . A few days later when I told them we would be going to his service the staff had her hair fixed, dressed and ready with a great amount of empathy for our situation . I have numbers for all levels of service and everyone always responds quickly to our unique situation . I could not ask for a more caring, loving and responsible to their residents needs than Story Point had been over the last year to us.

Leadership is friendly, food is good, facility is very nice. Rooms are laid out nice. My mother has a two bed/two bath which allows for an overnight visitor if necessary. They often have people in that play music, have crafts that older folks can enjoy. The thing that’s really nice is there are Sunday church services nearly every week. Hiccups happen with the best facilities, the staff at Story Point are quick to react to all issues. Like most businesses after covid staffing can be tough but leadership continue to pursue good people to fill job openings.

My mom and dad currently live in Storypoint. I am able to visit frequently as I live nearby. I am always impressed with the cleanliness and pleasant decorations. I know that some staffing concerns have made the food service a challenge but it appears that they are working on addressing this dilemma. The activities are numerous, creative, and resident appropriate. I notice a marked difference in my parents since moving to StoryPoint. They are happier, more energetic and positive. These traits would also describe the staff that I have encountered.

Having a family member living at Story Point makes our family appreciate having this option in Grove City. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff knows the residents and their families by name and have a genuine concern for their well being. The management is always looking for ways to improve and sets a high standard for all staff. We would highly recommend Story Point to friends and family.

My parents have been in Independent Living here almost since StoryPoint Grove City opened. The facilities are top notch and everything is very clean. All the staff I’ve interacted with have been pleasant, enthusiastic, and professional. When my Dad’s dementia worsened it was simple to increase services as needed to allow him to remain in the apartment. When the time came, the caregivers arranged for hospice to take over his care. The transition was seamless and things went as well as one would hope during such a difficult time. Mom continues to live there because she feels comfortable, safe, and cared for.

We selected Storypoint for my mother based on the independent living conditions and a lot on the types of activities that they were offering for her on a daily basis. We especially like the layout of her apartment it was very conducive to her abilities and her lack of vision also made this an easy apartment to live in. The daily activities have been excellent for my mom she is constantly busy and enjoys being with others and playing the games, all the great arts and crafts Have kept her entertained daily. The staff has been extremely helpful to my mom very friendly always willing to go the extra mile. My mom feels safe there -we feel safe having her there and so far so good. I hope she’s able to enjoy this living for a few more years ahead.

My parents really liked the 2-bedroom Independent Living apartment. It’s big, light and airy. Employees are friendly and kind and do everything they can to keep residents happy and engaged. Almost all greet residents by name. When my dad passed away my mother felt safe and comfortable staying on alone. She enjoys exercise classes and music in the cafe or bistro, and has made good friends. It’s a good place to be!

Storypoint is a beautiful facility with friendly and caring staff members. My dad has a one bedroom apartment and it is just the right size for him to live independently. But he also can get help when needed from the staff. I know he is safe and getting the care he needs. He loves playing Bingo, listening to the different programs StoryPoint has and joining in the fun at happy hour.

My mother has been in Assisted Living at StoryPoint for almost a year now. Her apartment is spacious and with plenty of room. The staff changes trash everyday and thoroughly cleans every other week. Nurses and caregivers have been wonderful taking care of her. They have noticed different issues with her and have addressed them promptly. I am there several times a week and any questions I have are always answered. My mother has enjoyed Bingo and Brain Games activities along with all of the entertainment events. She is given a menu each week with multiple food options for each meal. We are very pleased with StoryPoint and glad this facility is in Grove City.

I toured StoryPoint Grove City, and I didn't like the way it was set up. The rooms were weird. They were just square, and so it kind of makes you feel like you're in a hospital. Everybody was pushy, too. They have a salon and crafts room, but it just didn't feel homey to me.

The people at StoryPoint Grove City looked like they're generally happy there. It's nice, and the director or person I spoke to made you feel really at home, which I liked. Maybe they could improve on the price. The staff all came up to me, they didn't even know who I was, they were all very friendly and asked how I'm doing or if I needed anything. I came back later with my sister and they were serving dinner. I got to see the menus, and I can't believe all the food they offer to these people. It is amazing. They were sitting down, eating dinner and they just looked very content. The atmosphere in the dining room was so nice for everyone. There's so much for them to do, they even had a movie theater. They have activities, they take them where they want to go, plus they offer the family to come in and you can eat with, you know, with them. And they also have this like when you walk in, there was some kind of dog cafe won't call it cafe bar. You know, with coffee and everything and a bistro, they have a grand piano that people come in and sing, and it just was amazing.

I just can’t say enough about the professionalism and services provided by StoryPoint. My parents are residents in the independent living facility and my Aunt resides in the memory care unit. The friendliness of the staff and residents reflects an atmosphere much like family. There are always special events and activities provided in which everyone can be involved. This program is like none other. It is remarkable!!! As an involved family member, StoryPoint and the healthcare team is very good about communicating any concerns, followup or a simple “how can we help you” which provides much comfort knowing your loved ones are well cared for. I highly recommend StoryPoint for anyone seeking a sense of family and community with an outstanding administrative and care team!

My father's one bedroom apartment is easily accessible for him and he especially enjoys the outdoor balcony for his plants. We feel good that there are emergency call buttons in all rooms. The staff is friendly, personable and helpful. The maintenance team is prompt and very helpful when needed. The facility is always extremely clean. There is a wide range of activities to participate in throughout the week. Amenities include laundry, meal options, cleaning service, library, media center, outdoor walking trail, raised garden beds. A 3-course dinner meal is provided every day in the dining room and my father chooses to prepare his other meals in his apartment. Transportation is available via an in-house shuttle service for grocery needs or medical appointments.

My mother is currently residing in the Memory Care Unit at StoryPoint Grove City. When we realized her safety at home was an issue we toured several facilities. We chose StoryPoint because of the location, cleanliness, food options, range of services they offer and the outstanding staff and administrators. Staff go out of their way to keep families informed about their loved one. This was especially important during Covid when visitations were limited and it was difficult to know how your loved one was coping with everything. Staff always treat the residents with kindness, respect and patience. StoryPoint offers rooms that are extremely clean, spacious and private. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy can be done onsite so that residents do not have to travel to receive these services. A multitude of activities (exercise, crafts, holiday celebrations and food preparation and tastings) are available several days a week. Staff actively encourage residents to be part of the daily activities to keep them moving and interacting with others.

All staff were caring and efficient. Call lights were answered promptly. Residents were issued wearable signaling devices so they were a always accessible.

I was apprehensive about coming to Storypoint and leaving my home. This is the best move I have made for my family and future. The people and staff are personable and efficient. I love the variety of activities and entertainment. Everything is wonderful here except we need some changes in our dietary program. Other than that, it is perfect. It would be a year in September since I have been here. It is good. Everything is wonderful, but the closet space and probably the food.

StoryPoint Grove City memory care is a great community. Everyone there has been very helpful, and my dad seems to like it there. They have different activities like arts and crafts. The rooms are nice and clean, spacious, and adequate for someone who has dementia. The staff is great. The food always looks and smells good.

StoryPoint is truly a beautiful place offering top-notch living quarters for seniors! The staff welcomes you the moment you walk into the lovely entryway. They are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and ready to assist you in any way they can. The rooms we toured were spacious and appointed beautifully. 1 or 2 bedrooms are available and many options to choose from to make your apartment your own. The dining at StoryPoint is wonderful!! We were served a meal prepared by Chef, himself and it was delicious. There are many dining options with countless choices of delectable items to choose from. And if that's not enough it's ordered and served restaurant style. Countless activities are offered for residents to enjoy as well. I would highly recommend StoryPoint to anyone looking for 5 star senior living.

I am a caregiver for one of the residents in this facility. I moved her from a place she had formerly lived in the Grove City area for 3 years. To say that StoryPoint has been a breath of fresh air would be a major understatement. She is so incredibly happy here and the joy is back in her life. This is due in no small part to the staff and the way they make everyone feel welcome and like they have a home. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and meticulous. From the moment you walk in the door you are made to feel welcomed and loved. The activities are abundant and relevant to the age and ability of the people who live here. They are well thought out and fantastic to behold. Jody S. is visible at all times and makes you so comfortable. Shawn and Lisa make the decision to move a family member in here so easy and the transition could not have been smoother. Within in the first week all three of these folks, visited with Maggie and went above and beyond in making her feel at ease. Unprepared for a small furniture assembly, Jody jumped right in and got the job done without being asked. Unfortunately, a family emergency came up within hours of the move. Sean and Lisa couldn't assure me fast enough that they would be with Maggie for as long as I needed. The kindness and genuine goodness of the employees here is like nothing I have ever experienced. I have lived in Grove City my entire life and am thrilled that we have a place like this for our older residents and their families.

I found StoryPoint Grove City, Ohio not only to be inviting community also one where you can feel the warmth of the staff. When we walked into the StoryPoint you immediately heard the soft sound of the piano which was located in between the dinning room and the Bistro. Shaun, gave my family a tour of not only the single bedroom units but I was totally surprised of the spacious size of the two bedroom units. It certainly gave you the immediate feel of home. Fireplace, full kitchen, walk in closet, flat screen TV, and large bedrooms. We then visited the library with computers, books, and games. The recreation room, formal dinning room were each table had white tablecloths were the servers were eager to serve. The Bistro was equally amazing. We did have the opportunity to taste the food and it was truly tasty. From the director and all the staff you were made to feel at home and glad you were there. I highly recommend StoryPoint Grove City, Ohio as the total package for Senior Living.
