The staff at Cottingham Retirement Community is excellent. They're very on the ball. My boyfriend's mother is always very clean. Her room is also cleaned. The food is excellent. The activities that they do there are fun. It keeps them busy and keeps her stimulated. It's very easy to get to. They are very friendly and very hands-on, too. A family member brings her dog over there to visit and there's always a dog around for somebody to pet. We've been over there for birthday parties. They have a room available for the seniors to have their families to bring in cake and have parties and stuff. It's just a very nice atmosphere. I haven't found anything that I don't like about it. It's always very clean. There's nothing on the floors. I have not eaten their food, but my boyfriend has. If his mother doesn't want the food, he tastes it and says it's excellent. It's a good place.

I went to Cottingham Retirement Community. It was close to my house and it was a little bit more expensive. It was clean. The rooms looked efficient, but I can't say much at all because when I was there to meet with the director of the tour they forgot about me, and I was there longer than I should have been, so that was a bad thing. The thing I would like to see is for them to give more attention to the people that need the care instead of trying to impress people with it being kind of like a hotel, or something that you're going to be staying in, like a hotel, because I don't think older people care about that. They just want somebody to be there when they need them.

I toured Cottingham Retirement Community. I liked their facility very well. When you walk into it, it was homey and friendly. You got a sense that the people there really cared about the residents. It was a very well-kept facility. I was impressed with the staff as well. They were very pleasant. I was very impressed with the facility and the staff. Mom had a friend that's there. It made me comfortable knowing that there was someone there that she knew and that's how I found out about the Cottingham. I have nothing negative to say about the facility or the staff.

My brother has moved into Cottingham Retirement Community a couple of weeks ago and we have just moved the rest of his furniture in today. So far, we're happy with it. It's just a beautiful facility. It's very comfortable, very safe, and clean. The service seems to be very, very good. They have all kinds of activities. They have housekeeping once a week that will come in and clean. It's all part of what you pay for your rent, so it's very inclusive. He's very happy, and we feel that he's in a safe place. The only thing I could say that's negative is that my brother is a vegetarian, and they don't have many vegetarian entrees, and so he is not very happy about that. Otherwise, everyone seems to like the food. He will eat the side dishes if something is just meat, so that's negative. They're very reasonably priced. They have arts and crafts, there's a club that goes out for lunch once a week, they have transportation to the doctor's appointments and shopping twice daily, they have a library, and they have a piano. There's something for everyone. They even have a DVD library. They could borrow movies for free. They have movie nights in the evenings. They have all kinds of activities.

We had issues with my mom getting basic needs such as toilet paper, fresh towels, and her paper on a regular basis. She was in memory care where she was dependent on the aids. We addressed these concerns many times with the administration and things never changed. We moved our mother. I would never recommend Elizabeth Court to anyone.

I put a downpayment at Cottingham Retirement Community. It is only about three miles away, and it is close to everything like stores, my bank, and the post office. I was able to go there to see and measure the room that I am going to be in. It is a studio apartment. It is a community of independent living, assisted living, and nursing home. There are a lot of people there. They have a lot of activities. They have bus rides to stores and various places around Cincinnati. It is a small community which is why I want to live there. The place is clean and maybe a little outdated. The buildings have probably been there for 20 to 45 years, but they seemed to be in good shape. There are elevators, which is one of the things important to me. It is a five story building and at my age, I don't want to be hauling groceries across the steps. There are three or four entrances and a main entrance. It is a little bit expensive. I am paying $1,600 for a studio, but almost everything is paid for. You have electricity, water, and storage. A woman comes in once a week to clean, and dinner is free every night. Telephone and cable TV are free. The staff who assisted me was very nice, very helpful, and very cooperative. She set aside time so I can come in and measure the room, so that I can make a drawing and I know where I would put my stuff and still have space. She is an extremely sweet lady: very informative, very cooperative, and very pleasant. I only saw a one bedroom and a studio; both looked fine. The one bedroom seemed kind of spacious and the studio was not quite as spacious, but there is enough space for everything I need. The staff gave me an eight inch pizza, but it was one of the best pizzas I ever had.

Room was okay bathroom was very small for using a wheelchair or walker. The memory care unit was cut off from rest of facility Were not included in facility activities. Two of care givers were very good but the other staff wereloud, crude and boarded on verbally abusive. My mother was traumatized from her stay there. We quickly moved her out. There was little supervision of unit. Many of staff were very lazy. No wireless available in memory unit. Was very disappointed with our experience and would never recommend for a loved one

We visited Cottingham Retirement. The location is fine, but it wasn't very homey. My mom likes homey stuff but this place wasn't very cozy. It was kind of sterile. They have assisted living as well as memory care. The rooms in the memory care section were more like something in a nursing home. I was unable to interact with their staff and I didn't see any food because we went there after breakfast. The place looked clean, but the memory care just looked hospital-like and I didn't want that for my mom.

Cottingham Retirement Community has a huge advantage to the rest of the facilities we visited. It's less than a mile from my house, it's very clean, and it's been newly updated decor-wise. If I had any complaints at all, it's that the apartments were a little bit small. The people were lovely, the activities were good, and the size of the building was excellent for my mother. Right now, that's our number one choice. Everybody lives pretty much together, and Mom would technically be assisted. Most of the people we met were wonderful. We met lots of staff that day, and they were all very kind and concerned. We met a lot of residents who all were very happy. I was quite impressed. It's a very homey place. They don't worry about being exquisite. They've got a homelike atmosphere. There were people gathered down in the main lobby just chatting. There was one small area they were still redoing that was kind of closed off, but otherwise the place was immaculate.

I didn't like Cottingham Retirement Community. It felt old and I didn't think it was very cheery. The rooms were dated, too.

We toured this facility, but did not see any caregivers during our time in the building and did not see any residents coming out for activities, socialization. This facility for where we toured seemed like it was more geared as senior apartments and not geared toward the assisted living side.

We like Cottingham very much. We just visited there a couple of times and we liked their apartment. They have a lot of activities for the residents. They were my second choice and I thought they would be a good facility also. The staff seemed very nice and they knew all the residents by their first name. They also seemed very attentive.

My parents stayed in Cottingham Retirement Community for almost 12 months. I would recommend this place for assisted living. It was clean. They also had a choice of meal 3 times a day. Their nursing care was pretty good and they were also friendly. They had outings, bingo and other card games and music programs. But the staff was not always careful about their privacy.

My grandfather has been at Cottingham Retirement Community for almost three years, and I would recommend this assisted living community for your relative or friend. The comfort Cottingham provides for the elderly must be pleasant, because my grandfather did not want to be moved out of his house, but immediately adjusted to life in his new home. We no longer had to worry about him injuring himself with no one to help him.Every time I visit Cottingham, the grounds and interior are clean, spacious, and bright. There are plenty of skylights, windows, and decorations like plants and antique furniture to make the residents feel at home. Activities are hosted regularly, such as Wii bowling, movie nights, and sports game viewing. Additionally, a church service is held every Saturday. The staff at Cottingham is friendly, attentive, and experienced. My grandfather has dementia, and most of the staff is very helpful, with the rare occasion of an impatient cafeteria worker or nurse. I have joined him during a Christmas lunch, and the food is very good. When an issue or question arises regarding my grandfather's health, the staff immediately attends to it in a helpful manner. Overall, I would say our family could not be happier with the care and comfort my grandfather has at Cottingham Retirement Community.
