Cambridge Hills Of Pittsboro was one of our choices, but it was a little pricey for us. It was a little bit higher level and the place was a little bit bigger, but it seemed like it was more professional. The staff was very friendly. I pretty much knew that place already because I used to do therapy dog visits there so I was very, very familiar with that location already. The apartments were nice. They were a little bit bigger. I've eaten at that facility before. They've had celebration meals and stuff for different occasions and because I was with the therapy group dogs, we'd sometimes have been there for some of those meals. They have a lot of activities. They have a big activity room and they always had puzzles and stuff out and you could tell that they had different types of activities that they'd worked on. They had a lot of activities there. There's always something going on with the activities and then they had a shuttle bus where they are taking people out on outings and excursions and stuff to go places. So, they were very active with the people. Sometimes I think that they would be a little bit short-staffed, but they were very knowledgeable and very friendly. I think that was their real personality, too. They weren't faking it because they were trying to get you in there.

My dad is very happy at Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro. The people are wonderful to him. They take him to his doctor's appointments. The only issue I have with them is their cable TV. The picture doesn't come in very well for everybody. Other than that, everything has been outstanding. They have physical therapy come in, and music and games for the residents. The food is very good, too.

My mother is in Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro. They've done a great job. Her health has improved significantly since she got there. They help with incontinence, meal preparation, and feeding. She's pretty much completely dependent right now. They're very caring, good people, and it's a very comfortable atmosphere for her.

Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro seemed to have really nice employees. It was just older, and there seemed to be a lot more people who were at a different level with their Alzheimer’s, so I wasn’t sure if this was going to be a good fit for my mom. But I would recommend it. The only negative about it was that the rooms looked a bit older, so they may need to do some little renovations. However, the warmth of the employees and the cooking and all of that was very good, so I do recommend it. They had a nice assisted living area and everything. I just didn’t want her to move into an older facility like that. They had some nice areas for activities, and they seemed to involve them in some good things. The food was very good, and the employees that I met seemed very nice as well as the residents. Probably the only thing that kept me from going there was that the hall did smell a little because they had more residents who were further along. So they probably had more accidents, and it was a little harder. It is in a nice location and had some nice areas where you could enjoy being outside.

My mom has been living at Cambridge Hills for almost three years. I spent a year visiting (and revisiting) more than 11 assisted living facilities in North Carolina before choosing Cambridge Hills. I have never regretted my decision. Cambridge Hill's administrative team has been solid and consistent. Questions get answered and concerns are addressed. The team is positive, responsive, and committed to the welfare of their residents. Of course the most important indication of the quality of care provided is seeing my mom's expression of contentment. I visit her often throughout each week and she's happy and well cared for. I'm very grateful to the dedicated caregivers and med techs who treat my mom and the other residents with kindness, patience, and love.

Our family became familiar with Cambridge Hills Assisted Living in Pittsboro (“the home”) when my 91 year old mother moved when my 93 year old father passed away after 70 years of marriage. This was an overwhelming change for my mother and we were anxious about how she would respond to the new place. After settling in, unfortunately she was diagnosed with cancer and passed away quickly. But this experience gave us an opportunity to see up close how Cambridge Hill responded across a span of resident situations. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Cambridge Hills. The home is a bright clean facility with professional and caring staff, located in a lovely private wooded setting close to downtown. It is privately owned and relatively small with large private and semi-private rooms for ~60 residents in the assisted living section and a separate section for 38 Alzheimer’s patients. The cost is very reasonable. When my mother arrived, the staff, nurses, and doctors went out of their way to make sure my mother was comfortable and safe. They worked with her to help her get stronger and have a good social experience. I recognize that this type of work is not easy and they do it with grace and friendship. I was very grateful for the way the staff communicated with me and proactively worked with me to identify ways to help her. It was a true pleasure to see how she was relaxing into the community and enjoying the staff, fellow residents and available activities. When she took a downturn, the nurses and doctors identified the puzzling changes, she was taken for a MRI, and cancer was diagnosed. They helped us bring in hospice which supplemented Cambridge Hills’ staff. Not all assisted living facilities allow the resident to stay in the home once they are under the care of hospice. It was immensely comforting to have my mother able to stay in her lovely room and be assisted by the staff she knew. Everyone at the home was so sensitive to the situation and provided the family with great compassion. We were truly blessed to have Cambridge Hills in my mother’s life and only wish she had had more time to enjoy it there.

We found a place for my husband’s mom at Cambridge Hills. It is nice; it has a country feel to it and she has really liked it. The room was big. We met a lot of the staff and they were all very friendly.

My mom has been at CHAL for 4 1/2 years. CHAL is privately owned and run by a local couple. Over the years, I have found them and the administrator to be open, honest and willing to assist with any issues that might come up. My mom has been in the secure memory care wing from the beginning due to her wandering tendencies. Over the years, I feel like she has been well taken care of. There have been issues with some of the staff from time to time, but those issues have been addressed by the administration. I have seen staff removed from the memory care wing, because they are not a good fit. The residents in that wing need a specialized, caring, well trained staff. CHAL tries to make certain the MC staff suits that criteria. Over the years, CHAL has made great strides in improving the overall condition of the facility. It was a very attractive, clean facility when I first visited in 2009. Today it is even more so. The owners and admin strive to make improvements in every area: cleanliness, activities, meals, gathering areas, staff training, care giving and other areas of residents' needs. From the moment you enter through the new air - lock sliding doors, I feel the comfort of a well run facility. Most importantly to a lot of folks, a home for the aged should smell nice. CHAL does. Of course, there will always be the occasional odor of a soiled resident. If that happens when I walk past, I don't hesitate to bring it to a staff member's attention. If it's in a group situation, I usually find that staff is already looking for the offending diaper. In the MC wing, there's a diverse population from residents who seem to be perfectly fine to those who need full time assistance. I admire and appreciate the staff who can care for these residents. It definitely takes a special type of person to do the job. I was my mom's caretaker for several years before it was necessary to find a place. I could write a lot more, but then you might get tired of reading. I give CHAL 4 stars, because no facility can be perfect. There's always room for improvement and luckily for the residents, CHAL recognizes that.

Cambridge Hill is closer to me. The room could have one or two people in it. My wife is in a shared room. I think the staff is doing a good job. There are two groups a week that come, and on Sundays the different churches come and bring several of their members, and they sing us songs and give a little sermon.

In November 2012 the hospital case manager told me that my aunt would need 24 hour care for the rest of her life. She was 100 years old and was living independently (with a good amount of assistance from me). I checked out assisted living facilities near to my home until I discovered Cambridge Hills. My aunt is now 103 -- the oldest resident. I am very pleased with her care and am so impressed by the kindness and understanding shown to her by staff. The staff is always willing to listen to my concerns and "fix" things if need be. I recommend Cambridge Hills as a caring, responsible, affordable facility. checking out assisted living facilities near my home until I found Cambridge Hills. My aunt is now at 103 the oldest resident and with the assistance of staff is still able to walk to the dining room, around the facility and outdoors (they often have to call her in when it starts to get dark.

Visited more that 5 facilities before deciding on placing my mother here, For the most part the facility is clean and the staff take care of the residents. The residents seem to like the food. There are several activities and or events daily. Several younger more physically active residents would benefit from getting more exercise and as with any facility it is important for family and friends to stay involved and visit frequently. The facility is open to suggestions for improvements and addresses any questions and or concerns promptly. If I had it to do over I would make the same choice to place my mom here. I still feel it is one of the better quality and more affordable facilities available in the area,

It was surprised that it was considered assisted living and it was more like a nursing home. I think the staff were great there but, there was one who was rude to us as vistors. The facilities was very organized but it appeared more to be a nursing home. I walked in to the friend room to find her almost falling out of the bed and asked the staff there to help get her back in the bed and I was told "She is not on my assignment I will the aide who has her". That was just rude and wrong in my opinion. I think they need to investigaate the staff more before they hire them.

The administrator showed me around the facility, explaining to me the daily routine of the residents (people who live there), what the staff does (CNA's verses Med Techs), and what is included in the pricing of the stay (three square meals and scheduled snacks, activities, large clean room, and individual bathroom and shower). I was treated with respect, and the staff appeared friendly. The environment held no undesirable smells, the current residents looked clean and well-kept, and the grounds were neat and well-manicured. I was also given the chance to talk with the nursing head about the medical routine of the residents, such as bath schedules, housekeeping of each individual resident's room, and medicine routines. I was very impressed at how efficient Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro appeared to be, in its care of the elderly clients, its staff, and its grounds. I will certainly consider Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro for the extended home of any elderly members of my family who are no longer able to care for themselves.

A nice privately owned and operated facility. My father was there for almost 3 years and never had anything negative to say about the care he received.
