Mom is at Quail Summit. She is in the memory care and I've been very happy with the staff. The facility is very nice. Mom has a studio in the memory care unit with her own bathroom and then a fridge and a sink. They do dessert hour and they watch movies together. When it's warmer, they have a garden outside that they can participate in.

The only tour I remember being unhappy with was a place called Quail Summit. I didn't like it at all. I wouldn't consider living there for any reason. It's not a good place. It's architecturally poor. The thing that stands out is the design of the living quarters, of the two-bedroom facility, we visited. In my opinion, it was poorly designed because the living room had five doorways in it: a doorway to a bedroom, another bedroom, a bathroom, another bathroom, and an entrance way from the hallway. When you have a small room with five entrances, there wasno where to put furniture. It was physically impossible to put a three-seater couch. The most you can get in that room would be a loveseat. It's not a place I want to live. The staff member who accommodated me was a young lady. She was very pleasant and personable. She did a good job representing her employer. Nothing negative about the tour, that was fine. The facility itself is fine. It's just the architecture of the units. The facility was very nice. They had a dining room. They had what you would expect in a nice facility.

Quail Summit was a clean and modern facility. The staff member who gave me the tour was very helpful. The room's setup was small but acceptable. The new dining room was beautiful, though, and the common areas were well furnished. The menu looked like it had a lot of variety as well. There were residents gathering in the common area and playing cards when I was there.

I went into Quail Summit. It's hooked up with St. Anne's. It's good, I liked it and it's close by. If things work out with my wife, I can almost walk from Quail Summit to the other community where my wife is, if I have to, I could. I liked it but I can't do anything now, not yet, they understood that when I was there. I told them I couldn't do anything until I get settled up with Medicaid. They were very nice to me, real good, and I got along pretty well with them. I went into an apartment with 1-bedroom. I saw the dining room. I didn't eat anything but that was a nice dining room. I guess you gotta pay extra for your car, I liked that cause I still have a car. They're real nice, they took me and walk me around there. It's a nice place, it's good. They're real nice to me.

I do not like Quail Summit as much, but it is closer to the rest of the family where my mother-in-law would get more visitors by being there. All memory care units have a small kitchen area, which to me is ridiculous because all the meals are provided. It seems to be a waste of space. The rooms are quite small, and they don't have a closet. They are the only memory care place that is laid out like that, which I think is very poorly planned. They have quite a few activities, but they do not have the involvement of the people. They have an activities room that is not being used. In all the times we visited, we didn't see people in them.

The visit to Quail Summit was good. I loved the grounds, but the rooms were a little small. They had a bus that took them to different places, bingo, different crafts, visiting entertainment, and a car show.

I visited Quail Summit, it was nice, but it seemed more like a nursing home. What we didn't like was she would need to move out of the apartment and into another wing if she needed further assistance. The staff member was very pleasant, the dining room was very nice, and the library was very nice as well.

Quail Summit was a very nice place. If my father was in need of a place and he would actually consider this. The food was good and they did a lot of activities there.

Quail Summit is close to where my mother lives. She lives in like a miniature apartment. She's got a living room, a small kitchen area with microwave and small refrigerator. The staff is wonderful and they do everything for her. They do her laundry once a week, they clean once a week, she gets three meals a day, and they even have transportation to take her to doctors' appointments, shopping, and go to the banks. They also take care of her medicine. Anybody can answer questions when you call, and if they can't, they will find a person who can answer and call you back. They're great. There's not a thing I don't like about them. The food is very good, too. But it's expensive if somebody doesn't have long-term care insurance.
