My father is at Stonebridge at Montgomery. Right now, he is still in skilled nursing and we're moving him to assisted living. It's a very nice and warm place with a lot of amenities. The staff is very good. The nurses are great and even the aides are pretty good. Depends on which one, but still good. I haven't tasted the food, but my father loves it and he's a good judge. He likes it, and he said the food is very good. He's participated in many activities. But part of the problem is the COVID restriction. So, they don't have as many as they typically used to. But they have ice cream socials. They play and they have trivia games. He doesn't like cards, but they have all sorts of cards games and bingo. He went on a trip to Princeton on a bus, so they have bus trips. They also have volleyball with a silly balloon. They also say if he wanted to start a club or whatever, he'd be able to. But he's in skilled nursing and they've only started to bring him down. His mind is very sharp, so they've been bringing him down to assisted living to participate and now he's moving down to assisted living, so he'll be participating in more. They have an indoor pool, a library, and an art studio. They have beautiful grounds and walking paths. They're not open, but they have several dining options. They have a dining room that was run by a well-known chef from Princeton. They have a deli that you can go in and order on the place. I could go with him, and we could have lunch or dinner from the deli. And they also have regular food service. It's very good but It's still an institution. I can't imagine any institutions being much better. But there are drawbacks. They're doing a lot of work at the moment, taking advantage of COVID. So, I haven't seen some of the areas. It's very expensive but you're getting what you pay for. If you have a complaint, it's addressed immediately. They're very good at informing the family of issues. They're very good about that communication.

At Stonebridge at Montgomery, some or most of the rooms were private with a private bath, which is good. The food was OK. The residents probably need more snacks, but it was OK. Also, they’re understaffed, like slow-response-time understaffed. There were not much activities.

Stonebridge at Montgomery seemed like an adequate facility. The food looked well prepared, but I never ate anything. The rooms looked nice and clean. They were reasonably well appointed especially realizing it was going to be renovated. The staff who showed me around seemed like a decent enough fellow.

Stonebridge is lovely while you are well. Once your relative needs skilled nursing watch out. The care is inadequate; you will be encouraged to pay extra for personal care. And if you are like my mother, an original resident you will be kicked out when you become difficult. But actually they are kicking her out because she is locked into a lower monthly fee than the current rate for a room in the skilled nursing facility. So, I feel the half million dollars my father paid to ensure continuous quality care for he and my mother was not money well spent.
