My dad is staying in Fairwinds - Rivers Edge. I like all the amenities they have. They have a pool. When we moved him over there, it was more of a retirement community with a nursing staff. I like the amenities, they have a restaurant that actually acts like and feels like a restaurant, you actually get seated and they take your order and, you know, he can order what he wants off of a menu, and that makes it not a cafeteria feeling. He's independent, but then, you know, we've got nurses that give him his meds every day, because he would never remember to take them, you know, and then, of course, they can do other things for him, but he doesn't really need it. You know, he needs reminders to take showers and things, but other than that, I do that for him. I think the only thing they definitely can improve on is the friendliness of their staff. I think that would be my only complaint. Sometimes, in the restaurant, the waitresses are just not real friendly. I think they could be a little more personable. I think they can find more personable people to work there. I don't find them very warm. The nurses are incredible, they're very compassionate, they get a five, but the staff is average. They have a lot of activities.

Fairwinds-River's Edge had very nice grounds. They looked clean and well-kept. The lady that gave the tour was very nice and knowledgeable. They got restaurant-style dining where you order off the menu. The dining area was very clean and had very good food. They also had a swimming pool, physical therapy, game rooms, a bar, and a movie theater.

This facility will deem anyone a candidate for independent care even if they need assistant living or a nursing home just to take your money, as much as possible and as fast as possible. There assessments are a joke. If you truly love your family member save your time and money and avoid this facility. The staff is terrible.

Fairwinds - River's Edge was very nice, but they don't have the skilled nursing. They have activities, workout rooms, pools, and saunas. They also have the patio homes and independent living.

We chose Fairwinds for my father, and the biggest reason was it doesn't matter what his level of care is -- he doesn't have to move rooms or buildings. The facility was gorgeous. Everything appeared very clean and smelled very good. Every staff member we met has been there for over ten years. They're very friendly, and all the residents seemed to interact with the staff in a positive way, which was a really good sign. There was a swimming pool, a hot tub, a pool table, a recreation room with a card table and shuffleboard, fountains, and ponds.

Fairwinds Rivers Edge, St. Charles MO was very nice and the people were absolutely wonderful. Everything that we looked at was top notch, and I was very impressed with it. They told me to come back and try the food, but I haven't been able to do that. I would give it the highest rating that I could because it was a very nice community, but it is very expensive. The staff was pleasant and helpful; it was just a very nice tour.

I like Fairwinds River's Edge. It was a really nice place, and the price reflected that. It was a little more expensive, and they did not provide meals. You got a monthly allowance that you would spend, which made me a little uncomfortable, and I was not sure how that would work. They had all kinds of amenities, different options for meals, different restaurants, swimming pool and whirlpool, billiards area, a library, computer center, movie theater, fishing pond, poker room, Bridge and game room, a salon, a gym, and a nice outside area. The staff was friendly, too.

I really enjoyed the visit at Fairwinds - River's Edge. The people are very warm and friendly. I enjoyed the facility, and it seems like they thought of everything. It's just way too expensive for me, and so much of it wasn't part of the package deal. It was a lot of separate, itemized things, and I could see the dollar signs adding up. The staff was excellent and I enjoyed my lunch there, which was good. I was impressed.

I liked Fairwinds a lot. I liked their meal plans and their activities. Some rooms have washer and dryers. They have happy hour when we walk in, and they play computer games. They have a swimming pool and activity rooms. The staff seemed very nice and answered all our questions.

Fairwinds was really attractive. I would consider it because they had a good meal plan and also had help if you needed it in your apartment. They had a pool and transportation to take you to your doctors' appointments. The property was very well kept up. They had a completely different food program with free breakfast. Then, you would be given $150 per person a month to spend in the dining room. Every menu showed a pricelist, and you order like in a restaurant and spend that $150 a month. If you exceed that, then you pay for the excess.

I'm moving to Fairwinds-River's Edge tomorrow. I chose them because of what they offered me. I thought I would be occupied well while I'm there. I had eaten two delicious meals there, and the people I met were very nice. They have a pool and exercise room. It's very nice. I chose a one-bedroom unit with a kitchen, a bedroom, a living room, and a bath.

Fairwinds is beautiful; it’s a cruise on the land, and I want to live there. It’s on the main floor, it had 9-ft ceilings, and it’s well-appointed. It had a wonderful dining room, and the food was awesome. It had a washer and dryer in every unit. They had beauty shops and an ice cream shop. They go on trips, and the people are very nice. It was only for independent living, but they had a wellness team if they got sick.

After researching many Independent Living (IL) communities, we have decided that this is to be our new home. We are currently on the waiting list and in the process of de-cluttering, downsizing and preparing to sell our home. We anticipate the move in the June time frame. Reasons for our choice: 1) We were made to feel right at home the moment we walked through the front door. Welcoming, cordial and hospitable. 2) We were encouraged to interrelate with residents from the very beginning. 3) The accommodations are very well maintained. 4) We were unsure at the beginning of our search whether we wanted a villa or 2 BR apartment. We have settled on a villa. An advantage at Fairwinds is they offer valet service if requested. 5) Dining options - For us, this is a very important. They have a full scale restaurant that provides full service breakfast (included in monthly), lunch and dinner at ANY time and at ANY table during the posted dining times. IE: Breakfast from 7:00 to 9:00. They also have "casual" dining in the bar area where they serve a reduced menu but at expanded hours. The foof was GREAT. 6) Because we are on the waiting list, we get a monthly activities calendar and an invitation to dinner for two one night a month. 7) They have also been VERY accommodating with our desire to bring our own Refrigerator and Range when we move in. 8) Last but certainly NOT LEAST, the staff in general has been wonderful to work with. More after we move in.

Fairwinds was friendly and clean. Everybody was nice. The apartment I saw was very nice and large enough for two people, actually. The staff was very nice, informative, and helped out a lot. They have people that can help with Medicaid and military benefits if my dad would need them. Their dining room was really nice. They have free breakfast every morning, and then offer plans for lunch and dinner that they can use. They can cook in their rooms if they want. They have a workout room and a swimming pool and have a lot of good things going on there.

They were very accommodating, very helpful, and offered for us to stay for dinner after our visit at Fairwinds River's Edge so that we could sample their restaurant, which was absolutely fabulous. We could tell that the residents there were very comfortable and very happy, and the apartments and amenities were just top-notch. The reason why we didn't go there, I think, was because a little bit bigger and a little more costly. The expense was a little higher, but the amenities -- like the pool area -- just looked like a resort. It was very nice, they definitely treat the residents very nicely, and they also offer transportation. They had different planned activities like they would have group activities where they would do painting, they have book clubs and downsized libraries, so again, anything and everything you could ever want. There was an onsite hair salon and even a massage therapist. All the amenities were over the top, and quite honestly, I don't think my mother would have used everything, so we probably would have been paying for things that she would never use. If I ever hit 75 and am looking for a place like this, I would definitely consider it myself.

My son finds Fairwinds for us. Some of his friends have their parents here and they are very pleased with it. The staff is excellent. All we have to do is call for everything we need like transportation or food and they provide it. We have a villa and it is just wonderful. As a matter of fact, it is fantastic. It is spacious and well maintained. We have maid's service every two weeks. If anything goes wrong, all we have to do is call and they come and fix it. The food is excellent. We can have it in the dining area or we can bring it to our villa. I will definitely recommend this facility to other people.
