My mother is currently at Caremore of Waterford. She was in the hospital for a while, so she just went in there about two weeks ago. I came down, while we're trying to find something financially that wouldn't have to drain her account to go through Medicaid. All Caremore Homes seem to do that. They seem to be able to give the care that we were looking for and at a price she could afford. When we went in there, we met with the owner and the staff. The staff has been exceptional with her. We haven't had any problems. They've been really wonderful, so that's a plus. The staff is really great. As of right now (like everywhere else), they're having staffing issues with people. The whole country is having that problem. They care for her wonderfully; but there's only usually one person on staff per shift, which is very difficult right now. We siblings come in there a lot to try to help take the burden off them and kind of look after my mom a little bit more. They are in the process of trying to hire people. They're wonderful because the staff really is there to help them. The food has been fine. There are no gourmet meals by no means. It's kind of more of a basic meal plan, which is understandable because of the amount that you're paying per month. The activities are average. The facility that she's in is an extremely older group of people who are kind of starting with dementia and things like that. It's more of a quiet, laidback assisted living place. There's not too much activity going on. It is an older home, so the layout is not exactly great to be moving around. It's kind of a smaller place. Because of the staffing, they're having a very hard time keeping up. They clean it, but not my standards for cleaning. You get what you pay for. It is on the cheaper end. It's not a horrible place. I would recommend this place to somebody. There's just a little bit of a staffing issue.
