My mother is a resident. The rooms are beautiful, including all common areas. The staff is all very nice. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Each apartment must be well sound-proofed as it is quiet walking down the halls. My mother enjoys Bingo and is looking forward to better weather so she can sit out in the courtyard or on the balcony. The laundry rooms are conveniently placed. My mother has loved all of the food. Her only complaint is that they provide too much food!

Northpoint Village just didn't fit our needs. I was looking for a two-bedroom with two baths, and I had special concerns about both bathrooms having a walk-in shower. A lot of these facilities, including this one, have these bathtubs that are not adequate for my mom, in my opinion. I would have been worried about her safety. The staff was very nice, though. They also had their dining facility, and they did activities.

We found Northpoint Village of Utica. We chose them because it was very clean and the apartments were large. It has a lot of amenities and the price point is good. They also offer additional services like caregiving services and medical or nurse services if needed. My parents will be moving in. We were able to view the facility. They were taking COVID precautions, which were very good as well. They also have a 24/7 concierge service.

My mother is a resident of Northpoint Village of Utica. My mom is currently in independent living, but she gets some assistance, like they come and give her medication and they bring her breakfast. My mom loves it there, but the problem is they don't have memory care. It's starting to become a problem, but she doesn't want to leave there because she has friends there. The staff is very nice. They know that she's always confused, they are always willing to help her, and they're very good to her. I really have no complaints about the staff. My only problem is she just needs more help than what they can give to her. Every time I need to get a hold of my mom, I would call them and tell them that my mom probably forgot to charge her phone because I couldn't reach her, and they would go up there and tell her. Anything I've ever called them for, they have always helped me. I wouldn't rate their food very high. I wish they would have better food. The activities are fine and my mom likes playing bingo every day.

This is a great small atomosphere for loved ones who are independent or in need of assistance. The rooms are varied and perfect in size. The staff is amazing! They are like family and cared for both my parents. My parents did not participate in much activities but the staff always encouraged them. Staff cared for my Dad until he passed and they took wonderful care of my mom until she needed more care and we moved her to a place with more assistance. I LOVE Northpointe and would not hesitate to place a loved one here!

I lived at Northpoint Village of Utica for two years. It was OK, but there was a great turnover in the staff. They had a nice library with three computers that you could use, a small gym area, a podiatrist who came in once a month, and a beauty shop with high prices. The food was average, and when they had their Friday get-together, there wasn't enough to feed everybody who came there for senior hour. There weren't very many activities at all. If you didn't get on the bus right away to go shopping, you won't get a second chance to get on the bus.

Northpoint Village of Utica had a breakfast and dinner. They do not offer lunch, but they have the free juice and coffee all day. They were pretty much run-of-the-mill. They were right in the middle of everything, so they have all of the same features that every place that we looked at has. There wasn’t anything that really made them stand out. They have 142 total residents which is right about in the middle of the places we looked at; some have less, some have a lot more. The staff seemed to be very in tune with the residents. So it was really a place where you could go and feel that, “I’m going to put my mom in this place, and they are going to take care of my mom. They are going to just watch her and everything she does, and they are going to make sure she gets from one place to the next without getting lost or turned around.” The apartments were very outdated, and it was just lackluster. The apartment was what turned us off the most on this one. The dining area was cafeteria style, and again it was lackluster. We didn’t get the feel that we were looking for. As far as the amenities, the shuttle service, and everything like that, it was the same as everyone else. Cost-wise, they were actually the lowest costing place. For independent care with the possibility to stay there until they cannot take care of you any longer, it was the lowest price for the same amenities you would get everywhere else. The woman who did the walk through -- Crystal -- was very polite and very kind, and she knew all the residents by name. She was very thorough and was very accommodating too because we had to move it a couple of times during the day because we didn’t realize it was going to be a long endeavor to go through each one of these. These appointments take about two hours per location. The staff seemed quite nice. We only met three staff members during the visit -- one person serving food, Crystal who was walking us through, and the woman at the front desk.

Northpoint Village of Utica was very nice. It’s privately owned by a family. The apartments were a little bit bigger. They don’t have as many activities for the people, but they do have some. But I really like this place. They did tell me that they would have assistance for my mother-in-law if I move her in there. It was like for two weeks to make sure that she knows exactly where everything is. The staff was very nice. It was a very hectic day because the doctor was in there that day, and a resident had gotten injured, so she was quite busy.

Northpoint Village of Utica was nice. The people were very friendly. They had a gym, a very nice library, a nice dining room, a chapel, and a store. The dining room was very nice and appeared to be very comfortable. They had a water walls, which was very soothing and nice. Crystal took me through the community and was knowledgeable and works there full-time. It was nice. Northpoint didn’t have LifeAlert, but they said you can bring your own.
