I was shown a one-bedroom apartment at Shorehaven and I liked the living room and the little kitchen. It's pet-friendly. So, I get to take my kitty cat with me. The person who toured with me was very nice, polite, and showed me everything. He showed me the dining room, all the activities, and the beauty shop (I was excited about that). He showed me what special things they have. They also have a van that takes you to your appointments if you need to or when they go out to dinner or special concerts. I like it and I'm excited for April to come. The staff was great and the residents were perfect. I didn't try their food, but I talked to some food service people and they were pretty friendly. They showed me the front part of the menu. If you don't like what's there, you can pick on the second part in the menu. I liked it because I'm a diabetic, and in most of the places that I went to, you could only have one meal a day while in the other ones, you had to pay for. In Shorehaven, you can have three meals a day, which is something I wanted. The dining room and the elevators are accessible. I can walk around with my cane and it's really good. The rooms are beautiful. I love the little apartments. It's ideal for me. Shorehaven is close to everything. My sister is out there in McComb Township, so I'm closer to her, so my niece and I would rather be closer to them. Shoehaven was more in my price range. I'm a senior, retired and on a very fixed income and the people there who did the tour have really worked with me on my income.

The rooms are just the right size, and the housekeeping does a good weekly cleaning. The food is average, there is a good variety, Fortunately the dining room staff were willing to cut up my mothers food when her sight finally failed. My mother would tell me that the aids assigned to her were only nice when I was there. I had to preopen bottles of water and fill cups for her to keep several in the refrigerator because the aids would not do that for her when she had lost strength in her hands. I came to see her every other day, on a few occasions when I arrived about 11;00 a.m., she was still in bed. The aids had not come in to help her get dressed and use the bathroom. She told me not to say anything to anyone because if I did it would get worse.

We toured Shorehaven. I didn't have meals or anything there. It was another one we were considering. It was a little bit older. The common areas were new and nice. It was a place I would totally consider for the price. Everybody was great. The staff was great. They were knowledgeable and friendly, and they answered my questions. They offer activities, but there were none going on at that moment. It probably needed a little bit of updating, but nothing major. It's certainly livable. I would put my dad there.

Mom moved to Shore Haven recently. It was a big decision to move mom to a senior living community. The staff is wonderful and made the transition seamless. Every staff member has made mom feel welcome and part of the community. Mom was assigned an ambassador who helped mom join in the many activities offered. It is so nice to see mom chatting away at lunch with her peers and then spending her afternoons and evenings in activities she enjoys. The executive director Brian was instrumental in making our decision to have mom live at Shore Haven. He answered all of our questions and his helpfulness exceeded our expectations. Once mom moved in, he checked on her often and promptly completed any requests we had. I would highly recommend sending a loved one who needs companionship and TLC to this community.

My father has been doing good at Shorehaven. It's clean, and they keep him busy and he stays occupied. He loves the food. The staff is very, very friendly and helpful. It's very nice. They have the lake right behind, so there are several serenity areas for the people. They just had a barbecue. The grounds are very clean. My dad loves it there. The food was very good.

We went to Shorehaven. The layout of the rooms was pretty nice. The fact that they had balconies or patios for every unit was nice. The negative part was it didn't have a workout room and I'm not crazy about either of any of the facilities where all the food is included. One other thing that I saw was they had an outside patio where you could sit and eat, and then they also had somewhat of a lake or a pond where you can go out sit by the pond. The facility looked like it was in pretty good shape for the age of the building. The apartments were more than adequate.

I went to visit my brother in Shorehaven. It's great, if I could afford it, I would be there. It's very, very good, very clean, the staff is wonderful, he gets three meals a day. You couldn't ask for any better. The grounds are kept up real good. It's nice, very gorgeous, and the rooms are adequate in size for people. The food is excellent. They have a beauty shop, they have many amenities.

I did a tour with Shorehaven in Sterling Heights. Heather, the one who toured me, was very informative, and the tour and the facility were very nice. I didn't see any residents. With the virtual tours I had, I was able to see the entire facility, but with the in-person tour in Shorehaven we were only allowed to come in and view the apartment. We weren't allowed to physically walk the premises due to the COVID-19 restrictions that we have in place in Michigan and whatever guidelines the facility had to protect their residents from the virus, which I understand. They just gave us an overview of the apartment itself. It was OK, but I will say that I've seen nicer apartments, and not necessarily the layout. I will say maybe the condition of the apartment. I've seen a lot nicer apartments for the price that they're offering. That was probably the only concern that I had. It was a clean and empty apartment, but I think just given the age of the apartment that's what I mean by condition. So that was just a little bit of a concern for me with that facility. But other than that, what I saw when they walked me through it virtually, the facility itself appeared nice. A lot of times when you see things through a video it has a different perspective to it versus seeing it in person, like you can see the carpeting is outdated and things like that. So as far as with the virtual tour with the rest of the facility, it appeared to be OK, but when we get into the apartment in person it might have age a little bit more than what it looked like on the Facetime call that I had with them. The staff who conducted the tour, Heather, was very nice, very informative, and very personable. Just with her speaking with her colleagues that worked with her, it appeared that it is a good facility. I believe they are for longevity there with employees, so that's a good sign. That's something that I do look for when I do interview these facilities, the work longevity of the staff. If they've been there for a long time, it seems to have a benefit for me. The room that we looked in, it was off of the water, so that was nice. Parking seemed spacious, walkways clean, it had a patio, and you could sit out there, and each room had an outdoor patio, which if you are in the main floor, obviously you get that patio. They have three levels, so the other two have balconies. It was nice, you're able to sit since it has a small table and two chairs; sufficient enough for an individual who resides there. Just because of the age of the apartments and the cost, and I believe their increase is at least 5% a year, and when I looked through the packet, the beginning price is like $3,300 for a one-bedroom, that's what I remember off-hand. So with the 5% increase, given the age and condition of the apartment, if my mom is paying over $3,000 a month, I've seen much nicer apartments for that price range. Heather was fantastic, she was on time with the phone calls, on time for the meeting, and very personable. The rest of the facility I've seen only virtually, and what is seen virtually could be interpreted differently when you're there in person. You kind of don't get a feel for the actual environment, like the wear and tear of the carpet, or you couldn't taste the food or anything like that. They would not let us in to walk and view the entire facility. We actually had to park and walk outside the apartment to the main floor, and that was the only in-person accessibility that we had.

I really liked Shorehaven, but the room location wasn't exactly gonna work for my uncle. I have nothing bad to say about them. The staff was very nice. They all seemed to have a very good relationship with the people living there, and they were very attentive. I didn't see anything that I didn't feel was bad or anything. It just wasn't gonna be the place for my uncle. I didn't see much due to COVID, so we didn't go very far, but everything I saw there was very nice.

My sister moved into Shorehaven. It has larger rooms than other places. She has two bedrooms with a living area, and a kitchen area. It's near her granddaughter in Sterling Heights. The staff seems very cordial, and we're satisfied with them. She does bingo, she's trying to get into a crocheting class, they have quite a few things that they offer, and they go on trips. They play Wii, there are exercise classes, card games, and the food is excellent. We had Thanksgiving dinner there and we've eaten there two or three other times, and it's been just fine. They've been very helpful with us.

My mom moved into Shorehaven and we seem to like it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My mom's room is definitely adequate. There are some issues with the flooring, but they've corrected it, so they were very helpful in that aspect. Our concerns were addressed. The food we had was very good.

Shorehaven Senior Living was well kept up and well run. The staff was very good. I'd give them a four/five for cleanliness, newness, the cheeriness of the decor, and just the overall appearance. The one-bedroom apartment had a kitchenette. They have a library and an exercise room.

I was very impressed with Atria Shorehaven. The girl who showed me around was very good, very nice, very helpful, and very understanding. They're very good about everything. They're helpful, answered my questions, and called back. The rooms were very nice and clean, but they're pretty expensive. The residents were all nice. It's a good place to be. They talked about card games and group things, and if you do go there, they kind of buddy you up with somebody to help you get more comfortable. The facility is clean, well kept, and very nice. They have a library and transportation services as well.

This food is the worst I've ever tasted. My husband was in a nursing home and the food there was better. If you are looking for independent living this is not for you. The focus is on assisted living. Residents complain about food, staff and activities.

Atria Shorehaven wouldn't work for us because in order to use my aunt's long-term care insurance, she needs a licensed community where she is getting checked on more often than once every eight hours. The rooms were beautiful, though. It's a very nice setup. They also had great activities.

Atria Shorehaven was a very nice place. They have been in business for 27 years. They do continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so they have 3 different meal times. They have a little snack bar that was kind of like a coffee house right in front, which was nice and convenient. They had the lifeline bracelet and necklace, which was a nice safety feature, in addition to the courtesy check. Every place that we went to has a courtesy check, but this also had a lifeline, and you could choose between a necklace or bracelet for the residents to wear. They also could include a carport, so they have options for parking which includes covered parking. They have a town car which was almost like a personal limousine for the residents to use on appointments six days a week, and for big events, they had the shuttle. The staff was super sweet. It was the most professional place that we visited from an organizational standpoint. But at the same time, when you have that professionalism, you also have to pay for that. So they were the most expensive place we looked at, and we had to exclude them due to cost. They were convenient to a shopping mall; they were literally right across the street from the mall. There were a lot of conveniences, and they also pride themselves on being the most active community. They have more activities than you can fit on a calendar, but the cost was out of our price range.

Atria Shorehaven was nice and accommodating to me. The dining area was nice, bright, and accommodating. It would be a place you would want to go dine and socialize with friends. It was a very nice facility, and I was very impressed.

I’m living at Atria Shorehaven. They have very caring and kind personnel. It is hard to get used to when you lived in your own home, but they do a very good job with caring about you and making sure that you eat your meals. They have just been very kind to me. They have exercise classes and community outings. I haven’t gotten involved very much because my husband just passed away. It’s a very nice place, and that’s all I can say right now.

My mother is at Atria Shorehaven. I like the facility. The woman I talked to was very honest, so that's why we chose it. They have a library, workout room, movie room, and a beautiful dining room. It's very nice. They have menus, but if you don't want what they're serving, there are lots of different choices. They have activities every single day.

Atria Shorehaven is very nice. My father has been in an apartment that's a little over 600 square feet. It's very nice and very well maintained. They offer lunch and dinner, and the meals have been very good. He enjoys the food that they have. They have a lot of activities in the facility that he is enjoying as well. It's been a very nice experience thus far. He's been there since beginning of October. They have an activity room, exercise room, rehab, and a beauty salon. They offer a lot of excursions, and they take them to restaurants, shopping, and doctor's appointments. They offered a move-in special as well that no one else did. It was more down-to-earth. They weren't trying to put on a show.

I visited Atria Shorehaven and really liked the place. The rooms were large compared to some of the other facilities I saw and had storage space that others didn’t have. The dining room was very homey, and they have a chef.

Atria Shorehaven was good. It was a very big place, and there are a lot of residents. So if you are looking for a smaller place for your family member, it would be pretty overwhelming. The marketing representative was very nice. The apartments were beautiful, and it was a nice place, but I heard it is very expensive. If you have money, it is a good place to go. They had a lot of activities. Everything was very clean.

Atria Shorehaven is a lot older; the rooms are a little bit old, small and outdated. The outside of the building was OK. The staff was all nice, dressed nicely, talked nicely, and they were pleasant, nice, and good. The dining was very nice and clean with nice tables and nice linens. They have cards, bingo, horse racing, movie nights, and crafts. They need to update their rooms and hallways as it is kind of gloomy. Security was good because the doors are locked, and you have to buzz in.

Atria Shorehaven looked beautiful. I like the client-employee interaction, and it was very welcoming. It was clean, and there wasn't anything that I didn't like about it. Everybody was very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure that I saw the rooms that I wanted to see and got the views that I wanted to see, and I was very interested in making sure my parents got a sunny location because that is very important to them, that they be able to go out on to a balcony or go out somewhere and have sun.

Atria Shore Haven is an OK facility, but their rooms are small for the price that it has. We have been invited to different activities that they have, so they do have activities. I just think they need to lower the cost for the price for their rooms.

Atria Shorehaven saved my aunt's life when she had a stroke! An alert staff member caught it as it was happening and called 911. After two days in the hospital and a small amount of physical therapy, she is back in her apartment at the facility and we are very happy! Great staff that KNOWS each resident as an individual and watches out for them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Atria was in a nice location because it's just 3 miles from my husband's doctor and 2 miles from my doctor. It's very close to the hospital, too. It's located on a lake, which was very nice. Its apartments are very nice. The staff is very accommodating.

Atria is very nice, and they have a big pond and a walking track around it if you want to go. The lobby isn’t that big. The rooms were smaller with a living room, bathroom, and nice kitchen, but no washer and dryer. Some were furnished, and you could try it out for six months to see if you like it. The dining area is very nice. They give you a menu and you choose what you like. The staff seemed very nice. They have activities for the month; they have sing-alongs and exercises. From what I saw, I would stay there myself.

We moved my Mom in over a year ago and it has to be the best thing that's happened to her in years! After my Dad's passing, although pretty independent, she just sat in the house. We were so impressed with all the activity and it was the first place we stopped at that didn't feel like a ghost house inside. The residents and their families had stopped us all along our tour just raving about how happy they were. That spoke more than their sales person could have. Now that she's there, we have peace of mind because the staff is so loving with her and she is just thrilled with all the activities, outings and new friends. Beware though, she's gained 10 pounds this past year. Their from-scratch cooking is hard to pass up on and it's easy to eat a bit too much! Overall, we're very satisfied. They've become an extension of our own family.

I think that Atria Shore Haven is an excellent placement for some who is looking for placement for a friend or a love one. This facility is elegant inside and outside and it is near a beautiful Lake and the residents are also allowed to go out and walk along the lake shoreline. This is offered as one of the fundamental pleasures of life for choosing to live there for their residents. Their residents are offered free dining served in an elegantly rich looking dining room with crystal chandeliers and crystal dishes and fine silverware. While there, I noticed that their residents are living very free life styles. They provide for their residents with such a beautiful elegant and luxury, homey environment and atmosphere. Their residents receive the highest quality services and care from their very caring staff and management there and all are also like family towards one another. Their residents are also served very delicious delicatessen style menu with a varied menu to fit all of their residents' individual nutritional and dietary needs also on a varied restaurant style basis. There seniors love it there and their seniors love to socialize and interact with one another there. They also provide their seniors there with a vast majority of services, activities, entertainment, and recreational and off site activities as well. I would definitely recommend any and everyone 50 and over to this facility. I know that they would love it there and I know that their residents receive excellent care there. This facility is very elegant and luxury style and do not smell fresh country scent of greenery and flowers. I would have to rank Atria Shore Haven on a five plus stars rating for their excellence, elegance and for their expertise.

My mother and step-dad were residents at Atria Shorehaven. They had their own little cute apartment with assistance services to help them as needed. After he died we had to move her, as they are not equiped to handle moderate dementia. The facility is nicely maintained and run. The public living room has a welcoming fireplace. The dining room is nicely decorated, bright and cheery. Many activities took place there including music and dancing. The residence have choices of meals. As always, more fresh fruits and veggies would be nice, but understandably difficult. The caregivers and administration were caring, considerate and friendly. They know their residence on a first name basis and their health concerns. We did not want to move our mom, but dispite having her at their highest level of services (dressing etc.) they could not properly monitor her. Only after moving her to a private group home and now a larger Alzheimer facility can we appreciate how very nice Atria was/is.

My family and I were looking at places for our grandmother, we went and visited Atria Shorehaven and I was pretty impressed. It's a very beautiful facility and it's different from a lot of the others I've seen because it helps to make the people who live there feel more independent. Instead of feeling like a hospital environment it actually feels like an apartment building for seniors. They have a lot of social activities, and there is a lot of stores, restaurants, and businesses close by. There is also a lake close by so between the lake and the businesses there is a lot to see and do. Even though it encourages a more independent lifestyle they still have the advantages of a senior facility like an emergency button in each apartment, an on person emergency pendant for each person, 24 hour caregivers, and assistance with medications. The employees were very nice and helpful to us, and answered all of our questions.

I really loved Atria Shorehaven. The staff was always smiling at you and always ready to help you with whatever you need. The rooms are absolutly amazing. They are a little on the small side but without a doubt the nicest rooms I have seen in terms of quality. In my opinion, the best thing about Atria Shorehaven is that every apartment has emergency operation system. I always worry that something will happen to my family and now i know that if it were to happen they would have an easy way to connect with someone who can help.
