I've been here before as well as in 2 other nursing homes. My multiple stays in Rivergate total almost 2 years.Of the 3 facilities I've been in, this is the best one. In fact, the other 2 aren't in the same playing field as Rivergate. rivergate is well maintained and always clean. The food is good because the supervisors Jackie and Nate do a great job. The Dining room is set up like a restaurant so picky eaters can get a meal they'll eat and enjoy. Only problem in the Dining room is that a couple of dementia patients are not supervised so they roll around in their wheelchairs touching food on carts waiting to be served or even on plates of people eating. It's disgusting and no one wants to eat contaminated food. I can't believe these residents haven't been burned or hurt yet. Kitchen help is too busy cooking and serving food to take care of them too. Don,'t understand why they aren't being supervised. You can also eat in your room if you want, but it is usually cold when you get it. I think the room size is ok but there was only 2 beds to a room when I 've been there. There is NO way 3 beds could comfortably fit in any room there. The patients would have NO room to even walk around their beds. My care was okay. Not as good as when I'm home or in the hospital. As far as their employees are concerned they're just like any business out there: there is good ones and bad ones. MOST of the nurses are good, but there's some bad ones too. The problem here is The AIDES. Too many of the aides are mean, vindictive, or too busy on personal calls on their cell phones or just don't want to work. As a result , patients lie in urine or waste or stuck in bed for long periods of time. My longest lying in soiled bedding was was 5 1\2 hours. My call light was on the whole time. I had to call my family to get help. I've seen the AIDES hiding in patients bathrooms or in the patient lounges to talk on their phones. They disappear off the floor for an hour or longer and no one knows where they are. I have seen them hiding in the courtyard outside for an hour. So many of them need supervision. Then there's the exceptional ones like Stacey on days, and LeAnn and Christine on midnights. If your loved ones are in rooms in their hall (green court) you can be assured they are receiving good care. The rehab program here is exceptional. Physical therapy with Ebony is the best and she cares about your recovery and getting you home. The OT with Carly and some of the others is great too. They have a great activities unit so there is no reason not to enjoy your time during the day. There is bingo, arts and crafts and entertainment. The social worker is awfu. Well, sorry this review is so long. I'm trying to be honest and give you my thoughts. Guess you just have to remember this is a big business and that's exactly how it's being run. So if that's what you're looking for, you'll be happy. Thanks for reading this.

The food seems imho mostly not too good, somewhere lower than a school cafeteria; some seem barely edible such as "al dente" noodles that are far too hard for a fork, and some are just not appetizing, such as soggy zucchini. If you eat in your room you can't place an order, they just bring you something that seems to be unpredictable, though you can send it back; and they make careful notes in the computer of what you tell the dietician are your food allergies and preferences, notes which they sometimes follow and other times not -- for example the other day they brought some noodles Alfredo with shrimp in the sauce despite my plain indication (A) Allergies to shellfish and all seafood. As for the room: They do keep it clean, and you have control of setting the heat for the room, plus you have a window. The bed is nicely adjustable, but I find the bed to be uncomfortable because of the mattress. The chairs also seem uncomfortable, at least to me. But I do have a hip replacement, making my need for proper seating a strong requirement that someone without arthritis might not have. As far as the staff, some are very nice, others not, as one could expect with any group. However they seem to be hampered by the staffing levels, management, organization, and so on, with the result for example that if you require some medication you have to ask for the nurse (because only nurses can dispense medication) and you may need to wait literally hours for the medicine because there may be only one nurse assigned for 20 or 30 residents and there is a list of things that only nurses are allowed to do. Good luck during shift change or anything unusual requiring your assigned nurse's time. Similarly good luck to you if you need assistance to go to the toilet at a time when other people also need that, because only some few staff are authorized to help with it, so there can be an impossibly long wait. Need help with an ostomy bag? Again results are unpredictable. Beyond that sort of thing, it can also, for example, be difficult to get definitive information about the rules or requirements for something you're trying to plan, with different answers from different people and incomplete answers with parts missing that you don't realize. On balance the staff's performance could be greatly improved by improving their rules and in general the management of their time. Also their helpfulness could be enhanced by increasing their knowledge of, and communication skills for, whatever rules and schedules are being followed, including those outside the immediate duties of their own individual tasks. The staff themselves seem like most other groups of people, with some not being extremely personable, and with some others being as nice and as helpful as circumstances permit them to be. The best thing here, the only thing that seems IMHO to be really good in fact, is the physical therapy. The PT (and OT) people have been amazingly, phenomenally successful in helping me recover after the after-effects of a couple of bad falls. So it has been worth putting up with the various frustrations here as long as it has meant getting the amazing results of the Physical therapy. As long as you need PT, as long as they keep up their current PT abilities, this is on balance a good place. (If you don't need PT you might want to do further comparative research before deciding on a facility.) If you use the PT it would be hard to do better than here.

Rivergate Health Care Center is a clean place. I liked that the people are very nice and that the doors are locked. They got coffee for the residents, and they will be able to accommodate my husband's likes. I wish they would have more walking space for the residents. The yard wasn't that big.

We have a family member going through rehabilitation at Rivergate Terrace. The staff, especially Shelly have all been so patient, professional & compassionate. We highly recommend Rivergate Terrace.

No compassion for patients by the staff. Aides don’t like to work. Takes forever to get help when call light is pressed. Staff is very vindictive and play games with residents Very hard to get in contact with stuff, phones rings but no response. Have let phone ring for 15 minutes with no response

Zero communication from staff, haphazard at best covid protocols, finding someone who knows the current status of a patient is near impossible, no callbacks from requests for info. Decent parking lot though. I’d make this your last choice

My mother-in-law got into Rivergate Health Care Center right from the hospital. She's only been there about a week. Nobody wants their loved one to be in a nursing home, and we knew that it wasn't going to be pleasant, but we're finding that it's worse than we thought. My mother-in-law has dementia, and she's put in a room with two other women so she's in a room with three women, which I didn't even know they made nursing homes like that. She's in the middle bed, which we are not happy with. She can't ask for anything because she's got dementia and she's confused. Because of Covid restrictions, the visiting hours are only 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon so the family is not able to go there as often as we like. In the first few days, we figured out that they would put her tray on her table and no one would help her eat. We complained about it, and they said, "Oh okay, now you can come in and be there during meals." They're extending our visiting hours just so we can make sure that my mother-in-law will eat. As far as the care that goes on there, we're not happy. They told us when we checked her in that she could have whatever she wanted all day long like snacks and drinks. One day we asked if they could give her a cup of coffee and no one would get it for her. She was in the cafeteria and a cafeteria worker yelled out to the group of people that were sitting there that coffee won't be ready until dinnertime, which is so upsetting. We went to the nurse's desk and the nurse got her a cup of coffee so you just gotta ask. All in all, it's not a good experience so we don't know what we're going to do. We don't know how long we're going to keep her there. The doctors sent her there for rehab and I don't know how long that's going to last. She's 94, so we're thinking of calling hospice but that's only if doctors deemed it necessary. We don't know what to do but we're not happy. The first people that I met there were quite kind. My husband has been there more than me and he said there's a couple of wonderful nurses. Every time he's asked a nurse's aide a question though, she looks around like "I'll try to find somebody to do it for you" and then they never come back. We've had to ask several times for my mom to go to the bathroom. Some of the staff is great but some are just not passing the buck. I've never been there for the food. My husband says it doesn't look good so we're taking food in. When she gets it, it's cold so now she's not happy with it so we're taking her food in from the outside and making sure that she eats. Right now, we were told it's $8000 a month. Her Medicare is paying for that but she is new because she just got there. When her Medicare days run out and we have to start using her money, it's going to be ridiculous. $8000 a month for where she's at is horrible.

My husband was in Rivergate Terrace, and that's where he ended up staying until they took him into the hospital where he went right into the hospice. I didn't have any problems over there at all. They were very good to him. I had a couple of nurses that would come in that were always so upbeat and they always referred to him, 'Oh, here's my friend.' They were friendly to him. They put a little grin on his face, and even at the end when he wasn't sure what was going on anymore, they were just wonderful with him. He ate well while he was in there. They did have activities there, and he was invited, and I was invited to go with him. One day I walked through, they had a sing-along going, and they had bingo every day. There were activities all the time for them, but my husband wasn't up to going to any of them. They welcomed him with a gift basket. The day after he went in was his birthday and they all come with a balloon and a card signed by all of them and introduced themselves, so they bent over backward for him for his birthday. The nurses were excellent, but some of the aides weren't as sharp as they should have been.

It was really easy to schedule a tour in Rivergate Health Care Center. It went fine, and I ultimately chose them because I liked the facility and the staff seemed friendly. I liked that they were able to accommodate my grandmother's needs too. She will have a shared room once she moves in. They also have a recreation room, arts and crafts, an aviary with birds, and a garden where you're able to visit your loved ones. It's nice.

My mother-in-law was in Rivergate Terrace in Riverview. It's pretty bare-bones. It's a Medicaid kind of facility. At least the part she was in was the full-on nursing care one. It was adequate. Some staff were excellent, some I didn't think were super excellent, and some were OK. The food was adequate at best. They had theme nights and things like that. It's Medicaid, so they were all two-person rooms, and it's essentially a hospital environment, and uninspiring.

3 stars is average. They deserve less. Unprofessional service. Billing not properly explained so that you end up with thousands of dollars in debt. Stay away!!!!! Beware!!!!!

I'm in Rivergate Terrace for rehab. They have terrible time management. When you push the red button for assistance, you have to wait for forty-five minutes before they respond. They feed you, but I don't know why most of the time they have string beans like every day. Why would you cook string beans every day for like two weeks in a row? They have bingo, and they have pillows that you could make that they distribute to different people, and I found that very nice and very thoughtful. Some things are missing in my room, and I complained to the nurses' station. I came to find out it was the administration. They come into your room and rummage through your things. You complain about it, and they don't tell you they're the ones who took it, and then you're no better than a thief. I think the guys in physical therapy are a five. You have to hunt them down to do the jobs that the doctors want them to do, so I think it's a waste of money.

TERRIBLE Care of my Mother! I left the 1st nite & as I was walking out, I noticed no one was at the nurses station. I could hear laughing and carrying on down the hall, so I walked down there and saw the nurses playing cards in the patients TV room and no one was at the nurses station at all! By the next morning, none of the nurses had gave Mom her meds (which I had typed up for them and exactly when she usually takes them, like some with food etc.). My Mom began getting chest pains and pushing the button and calling for the nurse. FINALLY the nurse came by 2 hrs later and just ignored my Mom when she told her she had chest pains and needed her meds, the nurse just looked at Mom and walked away. Finally my Mom gave up pushing the button. That morning 5:30am a nurse calls, wakes me up and says "your Mom has chest pains, her blood pressure is 212 over 109, what do you want us to do?" I said "Call an ambulance!" Then I asked if my Mom got her medicine? and the nurse said, "what medicine?" Needless to say, no one gave her any meds and caused her to have a heart attack! I guess playing cards was more important. As soon as I got Mom situated at the hospital, I went and yanked my Moms belongings out of that place as fast as I could! That place is a nite mare! Those nurses ought to be fired! That place should be shut down! They almost killed my Mom! Shame on them!

My dad received excellent care from the station 3 nurses. Special thank you to Russell, Donte and Cindy for going above and beyond with his care. Truly wonderful caring people. Sadly he passed on July 31st, but I was confident in his care the entire time he was there. Thank you ever so much- The Marshall Family.

One star is too much for this place!!!! Patients are not placed by there needs, there placed by what room is available. Just took my father in law out of there . There for physical therapy but was placed with people that are not all there upstairs. Plus was sent home with a medicine he wasn't supposed to have. They also told us he has dementia which he does not. Should be shut down!!!!!!!

We visited my brother-in-law at Rivergate Terrace. It was a very well kept place, but the rooms could probably use more enlargement. The room was kind of small, and it’s got three beds in it. They’ve got a list of all the activities for the week that they try to get involved in, and they have some fieldtrips too. It was a modern, medium sized facility, and the staff was professional.

My mom and Dad were both in the care center until they passed. I could not have asked for better care for them. The love and caring they received was more than i could have asked for..I am very grateful for the care that was given to them both and the caring and support that was given to me.

My dad was in Rivergate Terrace for several weeks. We picked it out based on internet recommendations and 'sight unseen'. Initially the place is lovely - nice front desk and dining room. But once you move into the patient rooms it's horrible. There are two patients in a very small room with hardly any room to walk through the room. The bathroom is NEXT to one of the beds, so the second patient (farther away) cannot even get into the bathroom if the patient next to the bathroom door is sitting next to their bed. The only redeeming feature of the place was their PT and OT staff and the bird house. We found the nurses decided to stop giving breathing treatments completely once my dad had denied treatment twice. The family wasn't notified, they just stopped. My dad developed a bowl infection within a couple weeks of being in there, and also found out he had a UTI when he left. Our family wasn't impressed.

The people at Rivergate Terrace are phenomenal. My grandmother has Alzheimer's disease but is still relatively young to be in a hospital so she was very difficult to move into the facility. They helped make her transition so much easier. They are all extremely kind, but they're still all well equipped to deal with Alzheimer's patients. They make sure she has all 3 meals a day, and they even provide extra snacks in between if she wants them! The food looks amazing, I'm kind of jealous actually. They also keep her engaged with tons of activities. It's extremely clean and orderly, nothing to complain about in that department. Everyone was really helpful with billing, because my mom was clueless when it came to that. They helped straighten everything out and even assisted with getting my grandmother better benefits and insurance. I could not ask for better people to take care of my grandmother, and we're really happy with Rivergate Terrace!

Rivergate Terrace was clean and the decor was friendly. The nursing home was laid out in wards or sections. Most residents appeared to be happy and well-fed. The staff left a lot to be desired. Personally watched various aides and nurses ignore a woman who needed help to the restroom because she wasn't their patient. Staff seems disinterested and only there for a paycheck. Also noticed many nurses and aides with fake nails which is clearly a health violation. Also witnessed a resident who while being a complete care patient hadn't been given a bed bath in some time. I would recommend this home only if the resident was mainly self care.

I recently visited a family friend who was moved into a nursing home after suffering from a stroke. My friend was one of the most outgoing do-it-yourselfers that you would ever meet, so I was worried about how the adjustment to the nursing home would be for her. When I visited, my first impression of the facility was how nice and clean everything seemed to be. I aquired about my friends room number from a very pleasant office manager at the reception desk. As I walked to my friends room I passed a large banquet sized room where they were loudly calling of Bingo numbers,(one of my friends favorite games). I arived to my friends room to find her awake, fully dressed, and reading a book. Her bed was made, she had a glass of ice water and package of graham crackers on her bed side table, she happily greeted me, excited to have a visitor. As we talked she told me of how nice the staff treats her and the daily activities that the nursing home offers. She said although she would rather be at home, she was very grateful to have such a great place to recover because she would not have been able to get by on her own. I found the staff to be very polite and helpful. I had expected to see a hospital environment but found it to be very pleasant, clean and comfortable.
