I moved my father here about a month ago and I could not be happier. The staff is so welcoming. They have wonderful amenities and the food is also very good! The second you walk into parkway you can feel the family atmosphere. Would recommend this place over and over again!

My parents will be moving into Oakmont Parkway. One of the things they liked was the foyer when you first go in. My mother felt that it was a bit more elegant than some of the other places. She liked how they really prepare the rooms for the new tenant, and they repaint everything. They really do a good job cleaning it out and getting it ready for the new people moving in. It was very fresh and clean. I saw an exercise class, and we also had a meal there. We tried food at about five different places, and they had the best food. It was nutritious, had good portions, and just felt healthy. They liked the restaurant style dining, and it really resembled a restaurant setting. It was very elegant, very nice looking, and updated. It was not old and worn. They are going to have enhanced independent living. They have a third party that will come and help with things like showering, getting dressed, or medication.

Oakmont Parkway Senior Community is a beautiful facility. It's a three-story apartment building with very nice grounds. It's very large and it has a patio that wraps around the building. Some of the units also have balconies on them. The apartments were extremely spacious, and we probably liked the layout of those apartments the best. The staff was very warm and personable. They made you feel like you had been part of the family in the community for many years. We enjoyed our stay there and we met with some of the residents. We were able to tour the apartment of a resident so that we could see how everything was laid out, and the residents themselves were extremely friendly, too.

Beautiful, clean, caring, great activities, wonderful food and choices. My dad lived in another senior community and we did not have a good experience. Everything at Oakmont Parkway has been wonderful. I love that the director and assistant director have offices on the main lobby with their doors always open. Even during this COVID year they have demonstrated great care for the residents and compassion for their needs to see family and friends at the same time. I have found everything they promised to be absolutely borne out.

Oakmont Parkway was a very, very nice facility, and the staff was very friendly. They are family owned, so compared to a management company, I thought it's kind of nicer. Jennifer was the representative who showed us around. It's very clean, very personable and very updated. The residents were up and about and interacting with the staff. It doesn't matter where we were in the facility, be it the apartment or down below, every staff that encountered the residents knew who they were. They recognized them by names and had a brief conversation with them, which was good to see. It gave you that family feel. The rooms were very nice, but they didn't have a full kitchen like the other residences that I've visited. What they had was just refrigerator, sink and counter. There was no stove, no microwave, and I don't even think there was a dishwasher. The kitchen area was quite small and the cabinetry was small as well, but they allow the residents to bring in a microwave, a coffeemaker and a toaster oven, something that they could utilize on their own. If they went from independent to assisted living, they stay in the same apartment. They're not transferred to another wing or to a specialized assisted living. They stay in their own apartment and the care would come to them. They offer quite a bit of amenities. Given a non-Covid timeframe, they offer engaging activities for the seniors. They had planned trips, crafts, and entertainment. They're kind of keeping the residents on lockdown due to Covid. The food is being delivered to them, because in Michigan, we're on a temporary pause, so the dining areas are closed. During a non-Covid time, they would be able to engage with each other with activities.

My mother-in-law is in Oakmont Parkway. I can't say anything good. If you don't need any help and you can deal with the stuff that goes on there, that's great. If you need some kind of assistance, they're terrible. That's why I want her to get out of there, because they don't care about the people that live there. I've talked to several different people that have used Oakmont in different locations, and they feel the same way. Everything is ala carte, everything is, you got to pay for it, nothing is set in stone, or what the pricing is, they don't really care, it's corporate. They don't follow up on a lot of their staff, even though they have the facility, but they charge, if you have to come to the room, if you have to go to the bathroom, they charge you to take her to the bathroom, it's just not adequate enough. Everytime you're turning around, you're paying for something that's part of their care. When she first moved in, her health was okay. Now, since the covid thing, all the meals are brought to their room, they didn't go down the dining room, they charge you to bring your meal up to your room. They used to have bingo, they used to have entertainment, they used to come in there on the weekend, and stuff like that. The rooms are nice, the only problem is the heating and air conditioning system, it's really terrible. They can't regulate the temperature very well. The food was not bad, when we first went in there the portions were pretty big, now they're cutting back on a lot of their portions.

Oakmont Parkway in Clinton Twp is awesome. When you walk in it looks like a upscale hotel. Always clean. The staff are warm and caring. Cyndi executive director and shelia had a smile on there faces. They helped with all aspects of Moms stay there. Her room beautiful. The staff that cleaned it and delivered her food were also caring and friendly. Mom loved the food! If you are looking for a place for your loved ones or yourself this is the place to go!

Oakmont Parkway was a clean establishment. They have a very nice staff. The exercise room looked small. It's multi-level. They have very friendly administrators. The pricing was comparable with others. It's a newer building and it's well kept up.

Every person who's getting to the age where they're considering this should visit a place like Oakmont Parkway. It gives you options to consider for now and possibly for the long term. The staff was very cooperative, very friendly, and very informative, and marched me around the whole complex. I was impressed. It was price friendly. There's a dining room and both the 2- and 1-bedroom apartments were being updated. They have places where you could park that are covered. They also have social activities, everything from cards to luxurious entertainment. It was more of an independent living type of a situation than a care facility.

Oakmont Parkway is where my aunt was, but because her memory issues started to get worse, independent living was no longer a very good option for her. It was beautiful and well-appointed, the food was very good, there was a ton of activities, and the staff was very caring. Lisa -- the executive director -- was very helpful and provided some guidance for me on what to look for as I was trying to find another place for my aunt. They do field trips, they were constantly bringing in entertainment and music, and there was always something going on. It was a very lively place.

This is an outstanding facility staffed by caring, responsive personnel who are personally familiar with the needs of their residents and eager to assist them. The atmosphere is friendly, the amenities and activities so very pleasant, the meals well planned; in fact, there are no negative aspects to life at Oakmont. The directors and staff anticipate and address the concerns of their residents as well as their friends and relatives. They know everyone by name and extend themselves far beyond what one would expect. This is definitely a five-star experience in quality care!

My mother liked Oakmont Parkway a lot. The rooms were very nice -- more handicap accessible than a lot of the other places that we went to -- and it was not an overwhelming floor plan either. You are always close to an elevator or close to the dining room. The people were very friendly and very helpful. They had quite a few activities available like parties. The dining area was nice, clean, and elegant.

We will be moving to Oakmont Parkway. It is very nice. I have never seen one as nice as Oakmont. The rooms are excellent and we have the biggest one in the place. The staff is very nice and I am recommending them to others.

While the building was always clean and taken care of it was the employees that bothered me the most. I understand how hard it is to take care of the elderly, but it's part of your job to be friendly and sweet and put on a generally happy face for them. This was not something that was EVER done at this Senior home. It's very hard to walk in and see my grandmother so upset because one of the employees was harsh with her or said something rude. I have personally watched employees roll thier eyes during dinner when one of the residents asked for something that wasn't on the menu. I've also witnessed my grandmother get scolded for taking more the one peice if fruit at a time. That's overly excessive when we are paying $2000.00 a month just for a room and food my grandmother should be able to take as many pieces of fruit as she would like. One of my grandmothers biggest complaints was how cold the food always was. When she would ask if they would heat up her plate she was meet with hostility. This is not how any ederly care facility should be run hence the reason my grandmother is no longer there.
