I feel like Waltonwood Carriage Park's staff is very good and doing a good job with my husband. The facility looks very attractive. It's decorated to look very home-like rather than a hospital. They provide very good meals, transportation to doctor appointments, and activities for residents to stay active.

My mom lives in Waltonwood Carriage Park, which is in Canton. She's been living there for 7 years now and she loves it because it's very cozy. What I like least about it though is that I don't think the administration is always very on the ball. She's in their independent living. We've had problems with the staff calling back when we've called them and the food is not very good, at all. They have activities but my mom does not participate in any of them. For amenities, they have a salon and that's it. She's paying about $3000 a month so I think, for that amount of money, she's getting a good value. When we placed her there, my sister's mother-in-law had been there, so we had my mom tour the place and she liked it because the decor was very cozy. The area also has plenty of restaurants and hospitals.

I toured Waltonwood Carriage Park. It was nice there, and was probably my favorite place around here. They have newly renovated, independent, and assisted living rooms, and the staff was extremely nice there. Everything looks nice there. We did not get a chance to try the food, but we did go at lunchtime. It smelled wonderful and they did give us homemade chocolate chip cookies from their bakery to take home. Their dining room was really elegant and some people were eating there. They're pretty limited in how many people can be in the dining rooms right now. There were guests there. They did have a group playing kickball in their wheelchairs in the assisted part, and they had their calendar of events they shared with us. They have a lot going on. And that particular night, they were going to take the residents out and look at Christmas lights, take a van and just drive around and look at Christmas lights. We like that they get people out and about.

My mom will be moving into Waltonwood Carriage Park. They have a third party who can do things she needs, like a couple of showers. One of the things that I like is its location, because it's very close to my brother and it's not very far from me, so it's much more convenient for us. It is also a good location in Canton, it's near a lot of things, including drug stores, some medical offices, and things like that within a block. The thing that I like most about the facility is everyone there has been really friendly. Anytime anybody comes in, the front desk is staffed 24/7, and they genuinely seem to talk to like everybody who kind of comes through. The apartments are really nice, they're updated. They recently remodeled them, so they're bright and clean, and they have granite countertops and stuff. It's really quite nice. Everything looked really well kept up. The dining area is centrally located, right in the front area. It's also really bright and cheerful, and they had flowers on the tables. The staff members seemed really nice, those working in there. I know they have different games and have exercise classes, including chair exercises for people who can't do heavy duty stuff. They have games, cards, arts and crafts. Something people should know, they provide breakfast and dinner, but lunch you're on your own.

Everyone at Waltonwood Carriage Park was very, very helpful, and very pleasant. I felt welcomed, and I liked the fact that independent living was a separate building from assisted living. They were also doing an activity while I was waiting, and they told me to join them; that was really nice. They just had everything you wanted. I was able to get more room since they really had a good discount going. I was able to get outside space too, which for me, will be an absolute necessity. Also, the rooms are bright, and everything is really up to date.

Waltonwood Carriage Park was very nice. They showed us around, and it's very good. They had 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments for independent living. For assisted living, they had studio apartments that had a small kitchen with a cooking stove and a microwave and a bathroom. They had pretty good rooms. I have no complaints about them. They said my husband is the only one who can stay in assisted care because I'm not qualified. The food was very good, and I know the chef there.

Although clean, my loved one has been stolen from twice and no longer feels safe there. Do not recommend at all!!

I will be moving into Waltonwood Carriage Park. I like the location. I like the way the building looked on the inside and the outside. The first person I talked to was really nice and explained everything. The place looked clean inside. They had breakfast, lunch and dinner, and every meal was delicious. They had new paint and new furniture. They exercise almost every day. I could put my bike, my golf clubs and bowling stuff down in the basement for $5 a month. They gave me a sheet of paper for a whole week of what dinner was going to be and things that were happening. Everything was nice. The floors were clean, and it had a nice atmosphere to it.

My aunt is in Waltonwood at Carriage Park. It’s a very nice community. Her room has a small kitchenette, a bathroom, and a big room. The staff has been good to her, so far. My aunt is a loner, so she doesn’t participate in activities, but they do have activities. I ate there, and the food was very good.

If your parent needs a high level of care, I cannot recommend Waltonwood of Carriage Park. A lot is communication issues regarding care plan. Some staff is great. There is also a tolerance of staff which is less than average in ability and attitude plus a CYA agenda.

I like the individual care that Waltonwood at Carriage Park gives to my mother-in-law. They spend a lot of time taking care of her. They help her put on her clothes, come get her for every meal, and try to make her socialize. I think her room is 300 square feet with a separate bathroom -- which is handicap accessible -- and it has a kitchenette with a refrigerator and sink. The dining room and the food are excellent. We ate there a couple of times, and my mother-in-law loves the food. My mother-in-law doesn't get too involved with the activities because she doesn't leave the facility, but I know they have a bus that goes out. They have Sunday church service in-house. They have different arts & crafts activities daily. A day before mother's day, they have a sing-a-long with dessert, and that is very nice. Then a week before Easter, they have an Easter dinner with all the families.

We saw Waltonwood at Carriage Park, and it is a nice one too. We were there for lunch at one time. We just visited the dining room there because there was like an open house like a Valentine's Party. The staff was nice, and that is all I can say. We just came to visit, so I don't know all the details about that one. They were a lot smaller. Their dining area room is very small. I would recommend this community to others.

Waltonwood at Carriage Park is close about 3 miles from our house. The staff is excellent and helpful. The rooms are excellent. It is very clean and very nice. As for activity, they got a little bit of everything. They take them on trips, bingo, and entertainment. They keep them very busy. The dining room is excellent. It has white table cloths. It is really nice.

Waltonwood at Carriage Park was very good all the way around, but it was just too big for my father. The rooms were nice. They were very small, but they were nicely partitioned. The dining area was very nice. I didn't taste the food, but it was laid-out nicely. Regarding the staff, the only interaction was with the person who gave us the tour. She was very nice and informative. She asked about us and our situation to see how she could accommodate us.

Waltonwood was very nice and very clean. The people there were as nice as they could be. They had barrier-free apartments that were nice.

My mom stayed at Waltonwood at Carriage Park for some time. They were caring and wonderful. They knew every minute where she was and they would interact with her. My mom felt she belonged there.

This is a fantastic place. I hadn't heard of it until a friend of mine mentioned that he had a relative here. I decided to attend the home with him and take a tour. My, my, what a place. This is more like a vacation home than anything else. I'm amazed at how many resources there are for the residents. This home really made me smile and I felt content knowing that there are places with this much quality and hospitality for seniors to live in. Most of the homes I have been in are very similar to a hospital. They have a horrible smell and a somber mood about them. Waltonwood has a library and a cafe and all sorts of other awesome hang outs. I felt like I was on a college campus. It feels like its own little society. It is also located in Canton, MI, which is a beautiful and safe city.

Waltonwood is a very nice building. It has a good security system, elevators, a putting green, a general store, a parlor with fireplace, a cafe, a computer work station, lounges, a restaurant style dining room, a private dining room, a barber and beauty salon, guest suites, a library, game and billiard room, hobby and craft room, fitness room with equipment specifically designed for seniors, laundry lounges on each floor, scenic courtyards, and a gazebo. I feel very comforted putting my parents in there! The only thing I don't like about it is the cost. It's really fancy though, so it makes up for it. It has shuttle service to many supermarkets and grocery stores in the area, and has a good location. I would hope that when I get older, my son and daughter put me in one! Of course, it has the basic senior care, and good employees. Overall, it's a great place!!
