The Alzheimer's Association reports that 540,000 Florida seniors live with Alzheimer's disease, and that number will grow by one-third by 2025. In Volusia County, 24 percent of the county's 538.692 residents are seniors. The Florida Department of Elder Affairs defines memory care facilities as a type of assisted living facility.
