The town of Santee, CA, is an eastern suburb of San Diego, with a population of 58,000 people, 13 percent of whom are seniors age 65 and over. Just under 3 percent of Santee's seniors have Alzheimer's disease, and many have found a safe, therapeutic home in one of the memory care facilities within the city's boundaries.
