My aunt moved into ActivCare at Bressi Ranch, and I liked best that they allowed my aunt her independence. She does have dementia, but she is a very, very social person, she loves to be active, and they provide that for her, which I think is great. They have an area in the back where she can go outdoors because she loves to be outside. One of the things that I appreciate about this particular facility is that she does not have access to the street to be able to walk out of the building. So, I like the security of this place and all the activities and the personal care that they supply. The bedroom is a single unit and it's clean, she has her own private, walk-in shower, and it's easy. And they do come to pick her up for all of the events and breakfast, for all the meals, so that she doesn't get confused or lost. The staff has been very friendly and they're very, very attentive to her. And they do keep me posted. I communicate with them weekly, a couple of times a week. And I pick her up generally every weekend, every Saturday or Sunday, and spend the day with her. I've only tasted a sample of the food. My aunt doesn't seem to be complaining about it, so if it was bad, I would hear about it. I think it's a little in the pricey range. But I also feel that it's the best place that I found that fits her requirements.

I've placed my wife at ActivCare at Bressi Ranch and we're very happy with it. She's made a rebound since she's been at this facility, which surprised all of us, and it's been a remarkable rebound. It just seemed like the best place for her. The facility is designed for taking care of dementia patients. Her room is wonderful. It's quite airy, large enough, with a lot of light. It's not a shared room. It's just a shared area with a shared bathroom. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. They're all if not specifically trained in memory care, so aware of what to look for in the behaviors of their residents. In my wife's area, they have TV going on, music, and sometimes news. There is movement and activity, so there is stimulation. Everybody seems very happy. I would recommend it to my friends if I had any friends with the same issues.

In the long, difficult and painful process of searching for memory care placement for my dear mother, ActivCare Bressi Ranch seemed at first to be just what we were looking for. I felt like I could breathe easier at the prospect of a program where she might be able to thrive as a high functioning resident. Everything was going smoothly and falling into place with the deposit, paperwork, and evaluation. However, the day after her positive evaluation, I received a call from the director that they decided not to accept my mother with no explanation. I rarely give negative reviews, but I wish ActivCare Bressi Ranch had the professionalism and compassion to provide me with clarification and guidance moving forward in seeking care for our mother during this vulnerable and challenging season of our lives.

I didn't use Activcare mostly because my mother needs would require she be placed closer to where I live in Orange County even though she has always lived in Oceanside . But I have to tell you they went above and beyond to accommodate getting my mother assessed and finding the right fit for her even if it wasn't Bressi Ranch . They did allow me inside briefly June 2020 , during the pandemic . The rooms were clean , good size and beautiful . It smelled very nice, was very clean and professional . Lin Au did the assessment on my mother and suggested she get into UCSD Beavorial Center for a psych evaluation and med management and facilitated that in record time coordinating with Angie Egger the social worker at UCSD and my mother's doctor . If it wasn't for Lin Au my mother wouldn't have got the care she really needed that UCSD provided . She was admitted for 14 days observation . Because of that we have a clear picture of what my mother's needs are . I ended up moving Mom closer to me in Orange County and all of it never would have happened without the help of Activcare staff . Please consider these folks as they really want the best for you and your LO .
