The worst facility I have ever seen. Staff don’t help patients, make them wait or ignore them. Nurses practitioners have no experience, endanger patients and do not return calls. My mother went there with a clear mind to recover from a fall. the nurse practitioner Marva changed her medications so drastically that In a month my Mom was so sedated that she could not have a conversation or understand words. Her nurse practitioner would not answer my calls even after I called all managers multiple times. After two weeks she finally answered because her boss was in front of her and she admitted she saw no need to call me back. I discussed her medications and she had no idea my Mom did not have dementia and did not know her medication cocktail was destroying my Mom. She was not aware you cannot change multiple meds overnight.. Her meds were phased out and after a month and a half my Mom’s mind recovered . All the staff is part time and only some days there is a social worker. Please do not take your relatives unless you really hate them. They will get sick.

They are the worst nursing care I've seen yet. The residents are always urinated and smelly. They don't even bathe them for days you have to request for your relative to be bathed. I had a relative there and they have the rudest and most unprofessional nurses. They don't care about their patients at all. The even threaten my family members because they couldn't do their job right. Be careful when choosing them every time I've gone my relative has been sitting in his peed pants for hours with no one to change or get him clean. They have no respect for the elderly it's so sad and the stuff I've seen with all the other residents who don't have family to visit it's so unreal. BEWARE!

I went to Northwood, and I was not impressed. They were busy, and their staff turnover was a lot. I did not feel at home. However, It was clean, neat, and well put together.

I didn’t like Northwood for my father. I think it was deplorable. The nurses were not kind, but the aides were outstading. I’m a nurse myself and I found their work ethic and their attitudes horrible.

My experience with Northwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center was terrible. I was not happy with them at all. My husband went there, and they tend to just leave him in the bed. The food was not bad. His room was like a cheap motel room with two beds. I did not like the place. I was happy to get him out of there.

My father was recently an inpatient at this facility. I found the care to be exceptional. Not only for him but for all the residents. He was on the locked Alzheimer's unit. The nurses always had a smile and took the time to answer our questions with a caring attitude. The nurses aide that was in charge of his ADL was thorough and pleasant with his care. We had encounters with every department at this facility and all we're caring and took the time to help us. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for caring, skilled and attentive care for themselves or a family member.

My mother was treated at D'Youville Senior Care before she died. They were fantastic. It's a very, very good facility. The care and the cleanliness, the attention that the patients receive was excellent. All the workers are very caring and they try to attend to everyone's needs. Mom died from ovarian cancer, but they kept her very comfortable and peaceful so that she went peacefully.

I have lived in lowell all of my life , as a matter of fact my mom worked at this nh over 45 yrs. ago as a nurses aide ... I went there for a tour as I was contemplating putting mom into a home at the time . I loved the look of the place . very pretty. they have a locked down alz. unit . It was in my top 2 places out of the 6 facilities I looked at . I was also told it could be a yr. to 2 years on a waiting list !! What I know for a fact is you have to have money to get in sooner ! It is sad but true !! Private pay means beautiful private rooms , good insurance means pretty rooms, medicaid means a long waiting list !! I find this very disturbing , especially since this nh is and has been run by a Catholic charity since it opened many years ago .

I don't think we were impressed with D'Youville. I don't think they were treating dementia patients at the time we visited the facility. But it's very clean with matched windows, long corridors you can walk down, a swimming pool for ducklings that they can go and watch. It was light and airy, and they have lot of programs for people to do. But they don't have a home right now for my mother, and they said it may take a year.

It was a decent facility. Most of the workers were nice and took good care of my grandparents. Others were not as caring as there were several times where things were missing from my grandparents rooms.
