We're still in the beginning stages of having my father living at Morningside House of St. Charles. It's only been a month, but from my rating being on the higher side of the scale is based on the interaction from the very beginning of the person who was part of the marketing and sales, the one who came in and did the tour. I'm in a different state so things were done over email, texting, and phone calls. It was a smooth process. As soon as I decided to commit, the contracts were emailed, things were explained, and the process moved forward. The facility from what I have seen being in there and from what I'm getting feedback from my dad is that they have entertainment and at least three activities that go on daily. Their meals seem to be well balanced. The one thing that stood out there is everybody said hi to you. You had a welcoming sense of community. The decor also is very homey and very cozy. I had dinner there and they were very accommodating. I know normally they have to have a headcount of how many people are going to eat because they have so much there. It's not a cafeteria, it is a private facility, but we actually had four meals offered to us (because there was myself and three others that helped dad move in) and the food was good. Portions are a little small, but I think that's basically based on the eating habits of the seniors. I was very, very pleased with it. My dad was pleased with the texture and he felt he wanted more. So that means it tastes good. It was more balanced with meat and vegetables. They have three meals a day and they offer three snacks a day (they have a snack cart that goes around three times a day between meal times).

I toured the Morningside House of St. Charles and looked at their assisted living. The community was very nice and the residents seemed very happy. They were out and about, playing games, watching TV, and socializing. There were quite a few of them in the area where I was before I started my tour. The staff knew everyone by name and they seemed peaceful. I was only able to see 2 apartments and both of them are very clean. They had one model room apartment staged, and it was very nice. I could see my mom loving that area. Everything was very nice and pleasing to the eyes. The staff who toured me was very helpful and nice. She answered all my questions because I was on my very first tour, and I had lots of questions.

Morningside House of St. Charles was a beautiful facility. The staff were very professional and caring people. It was clean, and it smelled nice. It had quite a few amenities, like private dining room, a sun porch, a library, and an activities room. They were playing bingo when we were there. They had a hairdresser. They had all kinds of nice things there. The staff were very helpful and considerate of the residents.

Morningside House of St. Charles was a clean place. You would think that when you go to assisted living or one of those senior communities that would smell kind of bad, but the staff did a very good job of keeping that place clean. They were very hospitable. So far, we liked that place the best. They were putting a movie room in, they have a beauty salon, and some pretty decent stuff going on there. They have so many rooms per floor. It's like an apartment building with all the individual rooms. They weren't expecting us to come in, so they weren't ready to receive us once we showed up and they did what they had to do to accommodate us. They got a hold of someone who was there at the facility to have us and showed us around. She explained everything in detail and they did a pretty good job of showing us, touring us, and everything. So, we greatly appreciated that.

We went to Morningside House of St. Charles. The facility was very clean. The people seemed happy. It seemed like the staff was very caring as far as how they treated the residents. But the issue I had was that I was given one set of information and then when we got there for the tour, some things were different. My contact person was fairly new. I was fine with it until we started discussing the finances and things, and that's when I discovered that the information wasn't the same as what I had been told. The information I was given before the tour was not consistent with what I was told when I got into the facility to do the tour. The dining area was a nice set-up. I was happy with everything except for the financial side. I was informed of all the amenities. They have a beautician and a garden patio. They also have physical therapy and a separate dining room. Those were the main things.

I placed my mother in the Morningside House of St. Charles for a few weeks. I liked the friendliness of the staff, I liked the welcome she received. She was in a suite with two rooms and one bathroom, each room is separate with its own doors, but they share a bathroom. When I tried to have a cable TV and phone installed in my mother's room, it turned out there was only one line coming in for the whole suite. And the occupant in the other suite already had cable and telephone. The facility would not bring another line in, so my mother could have her own phone and cable service, they were unwilling to do that. So I spent a lot of time trying to get another cable and phone carrier to come in and bring their own line in, but the facility wouldn't accommodate that. I thought that wasn't good because that's something they advertise, and these days it's expected for residents to have cable service and a phone. Especially because we paid thousands of dollars a month. Overall, the building itself was good, there was nothing wrong with it. The food was pretty good but they tend to have a lot of sandwiches with white bread. So it didn't seem like the healthiest of options was coming through. They have activities going on, there wasn't a lot of variety, but there's something to do for people to do regularly. I think the value for the money was pretty good because other nursing and assisted living around were a whole lot more expensive. They were offering a much better price than their competitors in the area.

We went to Morningside House of St. Charles. I felt that it was very welcoming when you came inside, and the reception was nice. When we did our tour, we went to one of their model rooms. The rooms are very small, but they were nice enough. They would suit my father's needs. However, I think the room wasn't clean. It was kind of dirty and there were dead bugs in there. I thought they should have done a better job of cleaning the room before they showed it. If you're going to show a new client, or potential new client a place, you would at least clean the model room. That was a little off-putting. Other than that, it was just very welcoming, very nice. They said they had just gotten a chef. We met the chef, and she seemed nice, and they said the people there were much happier with her cooking than the previous chef. I liked the facility. I thought it was decorated nicely. It's got potential for the top of my list. They had a library, and one of the things that I thought was nice was they had a dining room, a special room, for occasions with the patient, like we want to have a birthday party or something. They had a room that you could reserve and use. It was just a small room, the size of a dining room. It's very nice. That was one of the things I liked the best. They had a nice outdoor area in the front row where other patients sat, and they looked happy and they got to see people coming and going and visiting. I saw a room where they did bingo, and they did art classes and stuff.

The assisted living of Morningside House of St. Charles was OK, not so great in the memory care. The rooms where the residents sleep looked nice and had a good amount of space, but they really didn't have a true memory care program for the residents. They have very small space for where they dine. There is a little tiny room where they bring them together for activities, but I did not see a cognitive engagement calendar for them (like social activities or cognitive development or strengthening activities). When I got there, some residents were tossing a ball around and there was some entertainment, and it was a clean place. To me, it just wasn't homey and bright. The lady was nice and she showed an area that they're doing renovations (it was off of the dining area). She also showed us all the areas and was very upfront in terms of what we can expect to see. I just didn't get a very genuine/personable vibe. She said the right words, but it was all business to me.

My tour at Morningside House of St. Charles was wonderful. Nicola, who is the director of sales and services, was excellent. The facility was clean, and it's in the process of being renovated and painted. I liked it very much. They had several options. Be it a single room, a companion room layout, different flooring versus carpet, just several options which makes it nice. It's got a very warm and hospitable environment. I also saw the menus.

If I have to put my husband into a memory care facility, I would choose the Morningside House of St. Charles. The lady that we spoke with just really seemed to know a lot about what was going on at their facility and the type of care that they would give to my husband. The rooms were nicely furnished and they had a private bathroom. So, we were very impressed with it. They had some things going on when we were there. They played bingo and did a couple of different things. They had a courtyard and an area where you could walk as well. A friend of mine lives there, and he goes out and walks just about every morning in an area, so they have outdoor spaces.

My mother who is 80 years old was recently admitted to Morningside. I must say that after less than a week, we see positive changes in her. She is not as lonely; she can have her privacy in her suite or join others in the common areas. She feels safe, protected and for the first time in a while, she appears happy. I am so glad that I picked up the phone and sought assistance when she experienced her last fall. I have visited at different times of the day and evening and the staff appear well trained and caring. This is the best thing that we could have done for my mother.

Morningside House of St. Charles was very nice, seemed clean, and the staff was friendly. The staff member who showed us around was excellent, very informative, and answered all of our questions. They have a library, on-site physical therapy, separate dining rooms, and a meeting room where they do activities. They also have a sun room at the front where they do activities like arts and crafts.

Morningside House was a very nice facility. The dining room was very nice, and everybody was friendly. The grounds and the facilities were very nice. There was a doctor, and it was in walking distance to many facilities. They had activities, too.

Morningside of St Charles Waldorf has been a godsend to our family. Once the home care didn't work out we were having a hard time trying to find a good fit for my husband and then we found Morningside. The folks there are so wonderful in taking care of my husband and everyone else there; they are very caring and attentive. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a homey environment for their loved one.

Morningside seems like just the right size - not too big or too small. The place is not overly decorated but feels like home. I never met a staff member who was not warm, pleasant, and compassionate. The residents are encouraged to interact socially, and there are beautiful gathering spots where a variety of activities are held daily.

Morningside House of St. Charles was very good overall with lots of amenities. The level of care and staff seemed to be top rate. I really liked this community. The amenities, the activities, things they offer, and the location were also good.

My dad move in to this facility just this April. They have a warm, home-like atmosphere, where you feel very comfortable. My dad is a complainer, but everything looks fine. He's very happy where he is and I believe everyone seems happy. The people were really nice. I can say, because I remember when we were touring the place, a younger woman, in her mid 40's still goes there to visit and volunteer. Her mom had lived there and died, but she still comes back. So It was really something. I can say that they really provide exceptional care to their residents

Large staff that is committed to giving compassionate care to their clients. Facility is extremely clean and does not have the typical odor of most assisted living I have visitied. Many daily activities for all mental and physical levels. Probably only complaint voiced by residents is the quality of the food. Meals are nutritional however, not prepared to suit their taste.
