My father was recently at Sterling receiving Hospice care. I understand that it was only a short stay, but I could not have been more grateful for the kindness shown to us by every staff member. He was clean and cared for, and the staff constantly checked to make sure we didn't need anything.

This nursing home is unduly focused on the bottom line of profits at the cost of the health, comfort and happiness of the residents. While some of the staff appear to be caring individuals who want to help, others are not, and the better staff are badly lacking in resources and simply don't have the time to take adequate care of the sick patients. The call buttons are constantly beeping at top volume preventing the residents from getting rest or any sense of tranquility. This can't be pleasant for the staff either. And the home does not have a defense for the inadequate staffing. There is no other explanation I see but that they are trying to bring in exorbitant profits. They charge the families a sinfully high monthly amount. To add insult to injury, when my mother passed in March of this year, the home charged me within hours for the following month's care (about $13,000) - I had been paying through automatic charges to my bank account -and they have failed to refund this charge to me in the six months that have elapsed since her passing. They don't return phone calls and rarely return emails about this issue, and then cite their internal bureaucracy as an excuse. Next step for me is a report to the Attorney General's office. You can find a much better home for your family member at a comparable or perhaps lower price. I have seen several in the months after my mother passed.

My father passed away here. They did not care for him properly. He was not regularly bathed, nor was he regularly fed. He complained about how much pain he was in, and they ignored it! This place should be shut down!

Atrocious. Dismissive of every request my grandmother made, gave her way less physical therapy that her insurance and physician said she needed, horrilble food, among many other issues. After a few days/weeks she ended up in the hospital with a stomach bleed (she was there in the first place for hip surgery...how does that happen???) She filed a formal complaint with the state it was so bad.

My husband is at Sterling Care Rockville Nursing. It's a three-floor facility. The first floor has the dining area, the physical therapy, and the offices. They have a dining room, and when they have different activities, arts and crafts, singing, or movies for the residents, they have it in that same room, they just move the tables out of the way. The grounds are well-manicured and well-taken care of. They have different areas where you can go and sit. There are tables where we can play games and everything. Since so many people come to visit the residents, there's not a lot of parking right there. But they have made arrangements with a Christian church that you pass before you get to Sterling, and so you can park in their lot and then walk down, which isn't too far. The staff are always on target. Every time I call in the morning to check if my husband is washed and dressed, and in his chair, they always say that he is and that he's ready to go to physical therapy. One time my husband wasn't up, and they said that he just wasn't feeling well enough to get up then, but he was washed and dressed. The food appears to be good. He always cleans his plate, so I assume he enjoys it. For activities, they have movies and documentaries, and they have games for people to play. And then they have a lovely walking path if you want to go out and walk around in the sunlight. There's a tree-covered area, too.

Sterling Care in Rockville, MD needs to be shut down. The center admn., Aaron S. does not return calls and or emails and is only concerned about the residents Social Security benefits and all insurance companies payments. Residents lay in their feces and urine for hours due to the lack of nursing staff. The nursing staff and GNA's are often asleep in the lounge area. Medications are left out unattended. The list goes on. Avoid this center as it could cost your family member their organ and or their life!!

The care my mother received was awful. Initially, she lived at home and walked, showered, and dressed herself. She was discharged from there, unable to sit without support, get up, stand, walk, or dress herself and now, as a result, has to be admitted to a nursing home. They used all but ten days of her Medicare insurance days, so now no facility will accept her for rehabilitation. In addition to catching Covid in there with other patients, she had gotten a bedsore. The food was so bad she lost a lot of weight, and we had to take turns bringing her meals. None of her trays had fresh fruit, juice, vegetables, or milk. She only received tea with every meal, coffee in the mornings, and water. She was in her wheelchair when we picked her up and dehydrated. Furthermore, we were lied to regarding her progress in rehabilitation. We were informed she was walking up to 50 feet. Patients were ignored when they called for hours at a time (witnessed). Patients that were terminally ill were also treated in this manner. We witnessed a frail lady fall on our way out, and we had to yell and run to get assistance. The nurse I told took her time to check the patient and even stopped to look in the food cart before she checked the patient. It was horrible in every way. Do not ever send your loved ones there, the care my mother received was awful.

My mother was a resident and received poor treatment there. Often neglected, drugged unnecessarily and kept bound to bed or chair. Staff was duplicitous.

Rockville Nursing Home's caregivers and staff are treated well by the organization, so they have a lot of longevity with an average employment of 10 years, which is unusual for a nursing home. They're very cheerful, extremely accommodating, and personable. It's a delight. The rooms are adequate and comfortable but need to be upgraded with a coat of paint and some pictures. Everybody has TVs and some rooms have showers and baths; they try to accommodate the residents. People who are there for the long term get to decorate their room. It's an older facility but extremely well run and devoid of smells. The staff is exemplary. Management is hands-on, knows everybody, very attentive, very accommodating, and very encouraging.

I visited Rockville Nursing Home for my mom. The staff and the people seemed very engaged. They have a full array of activities that go on all day long as well as having occupational and physical therapy there onsite. However, they have smaller rooms.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Patients were left in the halls begging for attention. Neglected and sad. We were crying on the way out.

My visit with Rockville Nursing Home was nothing but satisfactory from start to finish. It was a very clean and welcoming place. They were very informative. I was pleased from the get-go. We had my mother-in-law there for 48 hours before she was placed into the hospital and subsequently died. So, I was able to see her room and her meals. Everything was quite satisfactory.

At Rockville Nursing Home, the staff was excellent. They were informative, and they understood what we needed. They were very good. The dining room was set up for a different function at that time, so we really didn't see it. The residents were very secure. At that time, most of them were watching a special show on television, and they were getting ready for some event.

Neglectful, wrong meds, treated my mom horribly, no follow up. Was there for rehab and that was the only thing that was good. Was out in 2 weeks by our choice . Don't put your loved one here!!

The nurses and staff were very friendly. They treated everyone as a person and not as a name on a clip board. The facilities were very clean and organized. There were activities all day for seniors to take part in. The nursing home was next to a park were senior could walk or sit on a bench. There was a community room for everyone to interact with one another. The food was good and served three meals a day. The rooms were large and everyone shared a room with one other person. They allowed seniors to hang photos on the wall. There were plenty of nurses available to help everyone. The senior home was affordable and easy to work with. On the holidays the senior home would decorate the hallways and the community room. They celebrated everyone's birthdays with cake and cards. It was a good place to put a loved one.
