Would like to take this opportunity to share my thoughts about the dominion facility. My mother has been there going on three years now and when she first moved there the former administration was not professional at all. Barley spoke to you when you walked in or even while you were there for some period of time. However my mother said she liked the place and the other residents seemed friendly so she would stay there awhile and see how it works out. As time went on she complained about different things such as the food preparation, nursing care especially through the night hours when she needed assistance with meds, dressing etc, . She at some point spoke of moving to another facility and then she heard that The new administrator of whom my family is familiar with was coming to work there so she decided to stay and see how that’s works out and I will tell you that she is very satisfied. The place has done a complete 360 since the new administration took over. The staff are very helpful, the food is much better and the staff is constantly working with the residents individually and collectively by way of games and exercise activities. My siblings and I are very pleased with the facility and if my mother had not made a move to a facility such as the dominion of Richmond when she did it is our opinion that she would not be alive today so we are very thankful for Mrs. Agee and her entire staff and can only hope that future families can trust in the dominion to care for their loved ones like they have for our mother. No facility is without improvement but in my opinion it’s as close to a five star as you will find. Thanks once again.

Dominion Senior Living of Richmond is very nice. It's very clean. They have a snack area just inside the entrance where the residents can get snacks and drinks anytime they want. It was very nice. I talked to the director, and she was super nice. I was very impressed. The apartment was a little small. But I'm not sure I like to live in such a small space. It was a studio. The place was excellent. It was a very nice place to live but it was also very expensive.

Mom’s room was nice, but we had to clean it each time we visited. On one occasion, staff had used a shower curtain as a sheet on her bed.

While the facility is breathtakingly beautiful, always decorated for the current season or holiday, you should not go by looks only. My mother spent the last six months of her life at Dominion, Richmond, and most of her days were filled with unhappiness and even unsafe living conditions. As most facilities are understaffed, I found there was very little continuity and consistency in the day to day routines. Communication was lacking between management and employees. Also it seemed that most of management was new to their position and were always in a meeting. Sometimes Mom was put to bed at 7:00 pm or earlier, and other nights it would be after 9:00. No consistency. Her call button was rarely answered. On one occasion it took over 2 hours for someone to respond. The excuse was that the responding phone was on “charge”. Some aides were really excellent, while others were just there for a paycheck. As for interactive programs for Memory Care patients, I honestly feel that they are painfully lacking in serving their needs. Most of their time is spent either wandering the halls. Or sitting alone, and many times I found my mom either lost or sitting and crying. I never dreamed that my mom would endure the unhappiness that she experienced. I cannot and will not recommend Dominion of Richmond to anyone.

Bottom Line: PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONE TO LIVE HERE!!! There were MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF NEGLIGENCE that our mother experienced in the 6 months she lived there before she died. I will list a few: Our mom, who was in memory care, was MISSING when we came to visit. There were no employees to be found. As we frantically searched for Mom, an employee came to help. We ultimately found her in another resident’s room, a man. She was entirely undressed and in distress. We were told the man was not able to get out of his wheelchair but we saw him walking around a couple of days later. We were promised multiple times that they would investigate this and show us the surveillance video but months later, we have NEVER been given any information. I believe they just stalled, hoping we would forget. We didn’t. We found out later that the video is only kept for 7 days. The administration promised they would review the video and share it with us--for weeks! On multiple occasions, while visiting our mom, we called for assistance from the nurse. After calling multiple times with no response, we finally had to go get someone to help. We were told that the phone tied to that system WAS NOT WORKING!!!! We were promised so many things that never happened. Upon visiting Dominion as an option for Mom, we were told there were special interactive events and stimulating activities for memory care residents. Other than a corporate game maybe once a week, that was it. Most times, we found our Mom crying when we came to visit saying she wanted to move. We tried so hard to get her relocated to a nursing facility but sadly, after experiencing a fall at Dominion, she passed away a week later. Unfortunately, we are not getting much assistance when it comes to reporting these instances (and so many more) of negligence and since our Mom is no longer there, they are not listening anymore. Our hope at this point is to try and prevent these things from happening to YOUR loved ones. We are so sad we couldn’t facilitate change for our dear mother but maybe we can prevent these things from happening to YOUR loved ones. PLEASE, I BEG YOU, DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONE TO LIVE HERE!!!!

We went to look at the Dominion of Richmond. The lady we spoke with was very helpful and resourceful. We were impressed with what we saw. They take very good care of the residents. I like the location because when I went there, it was the first time I ever experienced seeing a senior care facility that's centered in the middle of a subdivision community or a residential community. I like that fact because you're not looking at traffic or some landmarks. You're looking at individuals, like people walking their dogs or babies. It gives you more of a feeling of being part of the community. Another thing that I liked about this facility was that they allow you to have a roommate. You can go to your room if you want to be in your room, or you can come out into the living area and watch TV with the person who's in the room with you.

Dominion of Richmond-Richmond, KY was pretty institutionalized. It's a newer facility. It's modern, but my mom just wasn't happy with it when we saw it. The staff was fine. The layout seemed to be pretty nice. They had a craft room, a beautician, and Wii bowling.

I toured Dominion of Richmond. They have memory care and assisted living. There are two floors. You can actually look down and see people in the memory care. I was able to see both. It was gorgeous, and it was very cozy. It's kind of a newer facility, so of course, it's clean. They have opportunities for OT, PT, and speech if they needed it. They have nurses on staff, too. It was very well staffed for sure. They have quite a bit of activities. They were going to have a sing along that day, and they do bingo and movies, too. They had a wide variety.

My mother is currently staying in Dominion of Richmond. It's very nice and my mother loves it. The staff is very cordial, especially the help. The room itself is pretty good. It could be a little bigger, but my mom's doing fine. It has its own bath, a sink, and microwave as far as the kitchenette, but she didn't need that. She doesn't need to cook. The food is getting better. They just couldn't keep the help in there. They brought somebody in there from corporate, and he was a good chef, so the food's getting much better. The dining area is very nice. They have an activity director. They do have activities. I think they can do more. They have bingo, trivia, bible, some classes, and they do things for different holidays. They have a salon. It's kind of pricey, everything's going up and up, but it's OK. Hopefully it won't increase anymore.

We went to Dominion of Richmond. It was beautiful, that was our favorite place, but due to the location, it was too much for my mom to drive there. The facility, the staff, and everything was wonderful there, including the price. Amanda was wonderful. We just went into the dining area, which was very nice.

My father is in Dominion of Richmond. They're very helpful. He hasn't been there very long, but so far it's been a good transition. He moved in, in a short amount of time. They did a good job trying to help with that. The staff is very good. The facility is three years old, so overall everything is really nice. His apartment is nice. The main living space is three-stories high, so it's pretty cool. I had a couple of things to eat there, and it's good food. He's participated in several activities. This facility is just 60 residents. I've considered that a good thing because of COVID and just in general, so the resident isn't lost in the crowd.

My father has been a resident at Dominion of Richmond, KY for three months and he has adjusted well. In our visits there, we have observed the living quarters to be spacious, well kept and comfortable. We have observed the staff to be kind, caring and responsive to his needs and those of the family. My father enjoys exercise, music, religious services, interaction with staff, popcorn, and snow cream. He is complimentary of the food and it has nourished him well.

My father-in-law moved into Dominion of Richmond. The experience has been very good, the facility is clean, comfortable, and the staff is very helpful, competent, and caring. I think they have different types of apartments, 2 or 3 different types, and he has a 1-bedroom. They have buses, they have a salon, an exercise program, and multiple activities every day. Some are spiritual in nature, and some are games, so there are a lot of things for people to do. The meals are excellent. The facility is very impressive to look at, it seemed safe and strong, it has a mezzanine level, and it also has a learning unit. It's about in the middle of the price range.

I’ve lived at Dominion for several months now and it’s home to me. The aides are so good to me and some do more than I know they should for me. The managers are friendly and help all over the building. I really enjoy the activities we have. The food is usually pretty good. I visited a few places before deciding on Dominion and I don’t regret it at all. The friends I’ve made has helped me so much.

We went to visit Dominion of Richmond. We were there for almost two hours and we only saw one resident. There weren't any people anywhere. The place was very pretty. On the inside it's really lovely and has a big open area with a fireplace that goes all the way up to the ceiling. But the outside is not so much, maybe because it's new and there hasn't been time to grow trees and shrubs. They dont have covered parking and they don't have a desire to put one in. The price is outrageously expensive; it's going to be $4,000 a month and there will be an extra $1,500 a month for the second person's food, bills, dinner, and lunch. The place itself is spotless, light, cheery and airy; it really looked like a wonderful place.

We chose Dominion of Richmond because we liked it when we visited, and we felt that this is the best place for Mom among the others we saw. The staff is absolutely wonderful and amazing in making us feel comfortable, which made things bearable. The community looks very nice, and we don't have complaints for the most part. The activities are very appropriate and I've been very impressed with what I've seen. The price is not cheap by all means, but it's appropriate for what we're getting.
