My mother is still at Richmond Place. It is very pretty, clean, and very nice. The staff is great, very helpful, and very nice. The people that clean are very nice. The repair people are nice, very friendly, and very helpful. They have stuff every day. You can get into card games. They have parties. They had a Mother's Day tea. They did something special for Father's Day. Some people play games in their rooms. They have chair yoga. You get a sheet of paper daily of what is available to do. The food is good. She has a few things that she does not like. They also have a cafe that's open Wednesday through Sunday, and they have a menu there. It's made fresh. Sometimes it takes them a little bit if they're busy. I had eaten in the cafe. The other day I went to mom's and she was down eating lunch and had a taco salad. It was wonderful. They offer two separate meals, but if you don't like that, there's a list of things that you can get besides that every day, like grilled chicken sandwich, hamburger, turkey burger, and grilled cheese. My mom is enjoying it there. We were just looking for something a little cheaper. They raise the rent every year, and her rent went up over $300 for a year. I think that's a lot. If you're staying, it keeps going up, but it is a great place. Her apartment is very nice.

Richmond Place only had two units for us to look at, and they had not been turned over. In other words, they hadn't been cleaned or painted or anything. The staff was very nice. Everything was very nice and clean. We have been invited out for dinner, so we intend to follow up with that.

I toured Richmond Place. Awesome, it's just very expensive, but it's very nice. They have a good staff, and it's very well kept up. The rooms are huge. I was very impressed with the rooms. I had toured a room that will be shared. It was a very nice room, very nice size, very clean. I saw the dining area, and the dining area was very, very nice. They have an outdoor area where they can, like, go outside. They got little games and stuff set up outside. They can plant flowers. They also do crafts and things like that. They have someone that comes in that actually does all the activities with them, and they have activities every day. Just the way the whole community is set up, it's very nice, the TV area where they watch TV, the dining area, their rooms, and the outdoor area, were very, very pretty.

Richmond Place Independent Living is an aesthetically beautiful place with really nice apartments. The pool and grounds are lovely and inviting. There is a lot to do on site and transportation available for community outings. The staff is friendly, responsive and dedicated in all areas. The Ambassador Services are second to none when a little extra assistance is preferred/needed. My mother has been very happy here since 2015. Richmond place has been a true blessing to our family.

My mom has moved into Richmond Place. My overall experience is very good. All the rooms and the common areas were updated. They have somebody at the front desk full-time, 24/7, so I like that front door access. Where she came from, that was not the case. I love the courtyard. It is a nice place for her to walk her dog in a safe environment. I love that they have a full kitchen with a full refrigerator, an oven, and a dishwasher, which is nice because she came from a kitchenette. I love that she has flexibility as to what time she'll take her meals, so it's not just one set time. I love that she has a washer-dryer hookup. The staff seems very nice and helpful. We've been in there since December 15th, but the office people were very nice in helping us complete the contract, getting us in, and making sure everything was right. They followed up to make sure everything was as we wanted it. They've been really good. Mom likes the maître d' guy in the dining room. He's very helpful like feeding her and getting her to meet other people. We saw a menu. We didn't ask to try the food but my mom loves the food. She had one bad meal, but for the most part, it's like an upscale restaurant. They have a lot of activities. We saw several groups in action. I can't remember what they were doing, but there are several activities for her to choose from. She's getting most of her money out there.

Our daughter did extensive research and went so far as to do a comparative spreadsheet of the Top 5 Senior Living Facilities she toured in the area. Richmond Place came up head and shoulders above all in every category, from overall cleanliness, attractiveness, grounds, staff attitudes and attentiveness, amenities, emphasis on socialization, and cost. And I can honestly say, I have never felt so carefree, made so many friends, and participated in activities we never would have prior to moving here. If I had to choose just one thing that makes living at Richmond Place the best possible choice, it would be the staff, from the top of the organization chart to the food and beverage division, housekeeping and maintenance and their responsiveness to all our needs, large and small. To have PT and OT on site is a huge plus. The attention given to socialization by the staff is beyond compare. There is something for everyone, and I would not hesitate to recommend Richmond Place to anyone.

I have been living in Richmond Place for 6 years having moved here because of my husband’s declining health due to dementia moving on toward Alzheimer’s. When he moved into the Memory Care Unit, I called it his “Happy Place” and it truly was. After he passed away I continued to live in Independent Living even though I still owned my house. I chose to stay because it is a beautiful setting with the courtyard, swimming pool, nearby shopping. I have to do very little grocery shopping, no cooking, no cleaning, no maintenance, many activities and exercise classes provided—what’s not to love?? And the staff very often goes above and beyond to take care of us such as during Covid pandemic and several times staying overnight when there is an ice storm or threatening weather. Another important factor for me is to have the availability of being with people if I so choose. I have made many new friends. This feels like “home” to me.

I have moved into Richmond Place. The great thing is that you get value for your money. They offer a nice assortment of things for you to use here, and it's very reasonable and very nice. Also, the staff is very kind. They provide the appliances except for a washer and dryer. It's a lovely place to live. They have a courtyard, trees, flowers, and gardening areas, but when you're going into these places, you're not going to find everything that you like. It's a compromise. Communication could be better. They prepare a lot of meals three times a day and that is not an easy thing and the food is not bad. It's not gourmet and some days are better than others, but that's the way it is at home. You have the option of two meals a day. You can choose the meals you care for. It's not your typical healthcare facility. There are a lot of activities here and a lot of opportunities for people in the facility.

Huntington Richmond was a brand new building. The place was very nice. They had activities for seniors. It was a place only for senior citizens. The staff was kind and courteous. They didn't provide any meals. These were apartments. They were all totally independent. Everybody was on their own with their meals. They had a hair salon, a game room, and a dining room. It was nice. It was very clean.

It will take a while for me to get used to living here at Richmond Place, but everything is fine. It's a nice place, they cook your meals for you, and you have a maid. There are six acres of walking trails and they have a swimming pool. It's a very nice place. The food's really good and you get a choice of several items. The staff is very nice. I have a little trouble getting a lot of things fixed, but they say that they're really backlogged because a lot of things go wrong, like dishwashers and refrigerators, so it takes them a while to get around to everybody. They're still in the process of remodeling a lot of things. They were going to replace all of the carpeting, and they've only done that on the first floor so far. They have a beauty salon, a library, they play bingo, do exercises, and people come in to teach balance. They had an open house and they had a really nice party, and we'll have another party when we get to the end of the summer. It's a very nice place. Sometimes it's hard to get everything taken care of as you wanted. They did a lot of upkeeping on some things. I like the courtyard and there's a place where you can have your own garden.

My father has had a rapid decline over the last several months. We started at Independent Living, moved to Personal Care and on to Memory Care within the span of only 7 months. RP staff have been absolutely wonderful and dad has been happy with the facilities of all three housing units at RP. They have answered all of my questions and come above and beyond in the care of my father. Thank you all for the great support I have received in caring for my father! Definitely recommend Richmond Place!

Lovely and we’ll kept comm areas. Rooms, clean and spacious. Very pleasant and friendly interactions with staff. Staff member and aide Sonya is an exceptional example of someone you would want taking care of your loved ones. So kind, caring, giving and respectful of the residents wishes, but most importantly their dignity! A truly wonderful blessing to those around her!

I went to look at Richmond Place. It had everything the other place had to offer, it just wasn't in our budget. They showed me a piece of paper with the different activities. The apartment was clean and spacious. I spoke with the person in charge, and when she told me the price, I decided that we didn't have to go any further because it was not within our budget. The building was beautiful. The residents were all happy and walking around. There was lots of movement within the building. Residents seemed to be well cared for. They were all happy and felt very at ease. They showed me where the smoking area was. It was a nice area and shady. There were some residents playing bingo. They were getting ready to go to, I think, getting class. There were various activities throughout the building, so that was nice.

I toured Richmond Place and it was nice. I had been to another one, so when I went to this one, when I walked in, I was impressed. I am going back and take my daughters to see it. The staff was very sweet and very helpful. She kept asking if there were any more questions. And I think she went over everything pretty thoroughly. I was pretty impressed with her. The room that I looked at overlooked the garden and the swimming pool, which I thought was a good view. They have a nice workout center. I go to pulmonary rehab now three times a week and they had all of the same equipment, with a respiratory therapist there. The dining room was very pretty and had tablecloths on it. We're going to eat there Friday with my girls and I would go and see how the food is. They have a big patio out back with a table and chairs, with umbrellas. Out in the hallways, there's a room with fireplaces and lots of nice comfortable chairs for people just going to get together. They have painting classes, bingo, and they have a van where they take people out to different places for lunch. They said they are getting ready to renovate it, and I said it didn't look like it needed to be. But she said they were ready to do a lot of upgrades on the inside of it. And I thought it looked pretty good as it was.

We visited Richmond Place. It's OK, but it's an older place. It's been remodeled. It was built in 1980 originally, so it's 40 years old. The design and layout aren't nearly as good as the more recently built places. The assisted living part of the facility was in a separate building, which is kind of down a hill about 50 yards away. If you want to go to the main building for the gym or anything like that, you'd have to walk up the hill; that didn't strike me as being very, very efficient. They have 4 acres in the middle that have very well-manicured lawns, flowers, walking trails and trees, and things like that, so that was nice. None of the other places had big open green spaces like that. The food was worse than average. The food was very bad. The layout of the apartments wasn't as good as the new ones we looked at. That's one we've marked off our list for my sister-in-law. We looked at both independent and assisted living. The fellow who gave us the tour was nice and very knowledgeable. He was from their central office. We had scheduled the tour with one person and that person wasn't there. They said we would see another person and that person called in sick, and he was the third person. He was kind of thrown in there to show us around. He did a good job, but it seemed kind of slipshod the way they did that. It was very clean and well kept up, but it was an old facility. They can improve on the food.

I was a resident at Richmond Place. I would give them the lowest I could get and that's about one too high. The shower was lukewarm when I moved in, and I had to go through all types of hassle, and they came down and they got the water so hot you could hardly stand there, and you couldn't get no cold water. I finally got somebody over to fix, and if you turned the hot water on, you got cold water. If you turned the cold water on, you got hot water. You could not get anything fixed. They only served two meals a day: a breakfast and a choice of lunch or dinner. On Saturdays and Sundays, you got no breakfast. On holidays, you got one meal a day. We stayed over during the pandemic, and we went for three weeks without getting any warm meal. We had a washer-dryer, a regular refrigerator, a range, and a dishwasher. I went out and bought a microwave. Then they said that they fixed the microwaves, and they'll bring me one down. Why did they wait until after I complained to decide to bring me a microwave? When I moved in there, the refrigerator and the freezer stayed frozen over. The maintenance man would come up and tell you something that would never get done. When I moved in there, like all these hotels, you got one certain plug in, and you turn on a light switch. Nobody told us anything about the operation and what it was, and only one of them worked. It was out in the den or the second room. In the master bedroom, you could turn on the switch and turn on the lamp in the specific plug in, and it would not do anything. It was the same way in the living room. I knew that they had a salon, but that's all.

We toured Richmond Place. I am actually taking my mother and father on the twenty-second to look at a living situation there. It is a combination of the physical plant and services. The physical plant is just excellent, with outside walking trails and large condominium-like apartments. The facility itself is excellent. The other thing that is very great about Richmond Place is the continuity of care. So, they have independent, assisted, and memory care all on the same campus. We were given takeout lunches, and it was delicious. The layout of the apartments and the outdoor spaces -- the swimming pool, the putting green, walking trails, and outside gardening opportunities -- and the proximity to medical care is just fantastic.

My mom is a resident of Richmond Place, and I would say her experience has been very positive. One thing I like about it is that it is very home-like. If you'd have asked me a month ago, I would have told you that their activities people are fantastic. They were constantly doing really wonderful things with them keeping them very active and doing interesting stuff. Unfortunately, both of those people left to go to a new facility so they're in transition right now. So a month ago, I would have said that gosh their activities are fantastic. The aids are very kind. There are three people that she is very attached to and they treat her really well, they know her needs. It's not a large group, there are 16-18 people. They know them all individually, and they're very attentive. They have an in-house doctor who is very good, very responsive, and listens to the families. I just don't have any complaints about them. She is very content there. During the Coronavirus, I was one of those people who visited every day, and when they shut down I was very worried. But the staff has been so good to her. She has not had any trouble with me not coming around. They allowed me to Facetime her. So no complaints, I never had a problem. The food is sometimes good and sometimes ugh. Her room is fine, it's big and she has a very nice bathroom. She has a room for a double bed, two chairs, a big tv, and a dresser. The cleanliness is good too, and there was never any urine smell or anything like that. Their maintenance is responsive. The layout is also really good. They have a central, very large living room, and her room is right off the living room. So, it is not like a hospital setting but is more like a home setting. I cannot think of anything that is lacking.

My mom has been in Richmond Place. I'm her power of attorney. They have changed ownership twice since she has been there. They have pretty much basically what most of the independent living services have. She has a one-bedroom. It's actually a bedroom and a den, which may be considered as a two-bedroom apartment. They have a very nice dining area, they have a lot of activities, and they have transportation if they need that. They have services to do personal care services, like people will go grocery shopping for them, they will do deep cleaning, and they will do laundry. They have some physical therapy and occupational therapy in-house there. It's pretty well staffed. They have a beauty shop, too. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. It would probably be a different story if my mom gave the rating because she gets upset with people very easily. However, from my perspective, they have been very accommodating and helpful. The thing that bothers my mom the most is the food and the food choices. They had a chef when she first moved there, and it was very good. Then, with the changes, that has changed. My mom is very disappointed with the food choices most of the time. There are fewer choices and she complains about it most days. The staff has gone over and above. They have done a lot of renovations lately, and it's been there for awhile. With COVID they don't have any activities, but they haven't had any cases of COVID in the facility. My mom got a pretty decent deal when we moved in there. She signed in her lease at the end of the year and she has no rent increases. She is getting a pretty good value for what she is getting.

Richmond Place was spacious and the staff was very friendly. I like it because their cooking area is the same as where their dining room is with an open kitchen. The dining room is also very pleasant. Given the situation right now the activities are very limited. I read over their calendar of activities available for the residents there prior to the coronavirus, they have a nice selection of activities.

I am quite happy with Richmond Place. They have very nice-sized apartments. I am in the independent living section, and they also have an assisted living section and a nursing home section. I've got a very nice apartment that is larger than the house I had, and the people here are very nice. They have a very large grounds. The food is quite good; in fact, I have gained some pounds in the last couple of weeks.

I visited Richmond Place. The area that I was interested in was sort of offset, secluded, and had limited access, which I liked. The caregivers were very kind and caring. I thought it was very nice. They had field trips, and people were working on art projects while I visited. They had a closed-circuit TV to show things that were meaningful to people, so they could sit and watch family memories, special music, and things like that. They had a piano that is played sometimes, and people sing. It was a very nice place. I did not ask any questions, but the staff gave me a brochure. It did have a place where my husband could be in one section, and I could have an apartment close by. I could be with him as much as I wanted. They had place where they had the food already prepared, and I could just go eat in the dining room or eat with him. The people seemed to be happy, well nourished, and had good rapport with the caregivers. The place was very clean. I had a nice visit. There were places to park. They had a nice reception area where I waited for the person that gave me the tour. It was a very secure facility, something I appreciate to stop people from going out and wandering away.

At Richmond Place, the food is excellent. We are served three meals a day. The cooking is very good. I do get a very good, balanced diet here. There are physical and occupational therapists available too. There is housekeeping one day a week, and there is transportation available, if you apply in time. All in all, I find it a very comfortable place to live. My room is a studio, which means essentially one large room. I have a sleeping area, a sitting and watching-television area, a dining area, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The facility has a gymnasium, a library, and a dayroom for different organized activities, e.g., exercises, bridge, and poker. There is also a beauty parlor for the women. Outside, there is a pool, a tennis court, and a walking track. There are various organized activities for different religious groups and class. There are plenty of things to keep you busy. I chose Richmond Place because it has good accommodation and services, and I could afford it.

Richmond Place seemed very neat, clean, bright and well placed. It was smaller and more homey. The staff seemed very friendly. They were very accommodating. They answered all our questions. The more questions we had, the more they answered. It was a very positive experience. Everyone was nice, thoughtful and made other good points. I thought if I had to place a loved one there, if everything went as they said it would, it would be a fine facility. The rooms were fine. I thought the bathrooms were roomy, so anyone with any kind of handicap, they had ample room. There was also an opportunity to get a double room when it was available, and that would provide a little more apartment space, which was something we were looking at. The only reason I gave it a four star was because of the placement of the facility in general. It was in a busy intersection, which was probably good for business, except that I thought it was a facility that had all the road noise and surrounded by parking lots or roads, as opposed to a facility that had a little more green space. That would probably have given me that fifth star in my mind. We took my mother-in-law and she felt comfortable there.

During my initial visit at Richmond Place, the staff were very helpful. They continued to contact me to check with me. The facility was really great, and it is located in a nice neighborhood. They had a lot of things for the seniors. I like the setting of the facility because the inside and outside of the facility is very nice. My initial assessment of the facility is great.

Everything was really nice at Richmond Place. I really enjoyed the people who met us there. They served us dinner, we looked around, and everybody was really nice. I liked the rooms. The staff was great.

I moved at Richmond Place. I have a regular apartment with a bedroom, living room, and a dining room with kitchen. The staff are very knowledgeable. They provide three meals a day and the food is great. They have all kinds of activities and things for the residents. They also have service bus for the residents.
