The Plaza at Santa Marta is phenomenal. They're connected to their memory and assisted living. Everything is really close together. They let patients in assisted go over to skilled for certain treatments, which is nice. The grounds and the facilities are spectacular. It is very spacious and spread out. I went on a Sunday, so there's nobody there, but this nurse came out and she talked to me. She genuinely loved her job. The place is beautiful and nice. The layout is spacious. It is a Catholic place.

I visited Santa Martha several times. Everything was great and beautiful, and the food was good. The dining area was beautiful. I would definitely recommend it. They had different educational programs and activities. They offered a lot.

I went to Santa Marta, and if I hit the lottery, that is where I am going to place my mom. The place was beautiful, and it's a Catholic-run facility, so they have a chapel there, and they do mass. The rooms were really nice. It seems like the dining area was very nice as well. The staff was really, really wonderful.

My mother lived at Santa Marta for four years, first in assisted living, and then in memory care. The facility is fairly new and attractive, but we had constant problems with the staff. While she was in assisted living, she was given the wrong medication, or the wrong dose of her medication, repeatedly. Her assisted living apartment was not cleaned as thoroughly as it should have been. After we moved her to memory care, it soon became evident that staff were poorly trained and ill-equipped to handle symptoms such as combativeness. In spite of the $6,000/month cost of the memory care facility, we constantly received calls asking us to come deal with my mother ourselves. When we would visit her, which we did several times a week, staff would not be visible. The residents would be seated in front of the television rather than engaged in activities. There were never any planned activities on weekends. On one occasion, we found my mother covered in feces, and this had obviously been the case for some period of time when we found her. During the last four months before we moved her to another facility, she fell five (5) times, on one of those occasions fracturing several vertebrae. Since we moved her to a new facility, she is healthier, in better spirits and has not fallen even once. Also, we rarely receive calls from the nursing staff. Finally, if you think you are placing your loved one in the warm embrace of the Catholic church here, think again--this facility is run by a large for- profit corporation under contract with the church.

We visited Santa Marta last summer, and it was wonderful. I have friends who live there. It was beautiful and clean. Their food menu was very desirable; it’s like going into a restaurant and you can order what you want. They have activities for the residents. My friends love it there.

My mom is in Santa Marta. They have a continuing level of care. Their management staff is very friendly, helpful and supportive. Food is very good and they also got a variety of choices. You can eat in their regular dining room if you like or you can go to their small deli. I would highly recommend this place, however, the downside I feel is that it is quite expensive because you have to buy in.

Santa Marta is a beautiful facility located in Olathe Kansas. They offer many levels of care ranging from independent living, memory care, and skilled nursing. Each of the different levels of care is in its own area equipped with its own dining area. The staff at Santa Marta is always very pleasant and accommodating to most needs. We have had a few problems but they seem to be cleared up after e-mails or meetings. Santa Marta has lots of activities to offer to their residents. They also have Catholic mass often which is a great benefit. After the mass someone will come around to offer communion to the residents as well. Santa Marta has lots of great amenities including physical therapy, a lovely flower garden, a fitness center, and a heated saltwater pool and hot tub. Overall, we have been very pleased with the level of care and attention that Santa Marta offers its residents.

Santa Marta is a full spectrum community from Independent Living, to Assisted Living, to Memory Support, to Skilled Nursing Facility. This was what was attactive to my Mom and myself. She initially went into the Assisted Living facility. The rooms were large and well maintained. The staff were very caring and extremely respectful of all the residents. Since moving in Mom has moved to Memory Support unit. The staff there are so very caring. They always have a smile and an upbeat attitude no matter what the day brings. They have engaged Mom in so many activities, arts and crafts, singing, painting, excerises, outings to theater performances so that she stays connected. The housekeeping staff are so fantastic. Doesn't matter what they have to deal with they do it with grace and a smile. The facility has a physical therapy group that provide outstanding service to the residents. They are extremely professional and have made a huge improvement to Mom's physical abilities....at 90 she still walks without walker or cane. The food is of some concern. It has ups and downs. Certainly it is difficult to prepare over 300 meals a month for each individual that all will enjoy. The variety is good, but the temperature is often questionable.
