The apartments are spacious and community areas are inviting. The community kitchenettes are well kept for residents family gatherings. The staff are friendly and caring. There are many memory care patients in the assisted living area so social activities for those without memory problems are difficult. There are trips to stores like WalMart, Dillons, etc. Other activities such as Bingo and cards, however, my mother finds there are few activities that interest her. I noted in a previous review food was a problem in 2013 and that continues to be the case. Too many pre-processed foods are served and the menu is limited to one entree per meal with no choice of vegetable etc. The 'grill' menu has limited choices for any on a heart healthy diet.

I have visited Catholic Care Center. I met with the director of admissions for the assisted living, and she immediately met me at the door of her office and addressed me by my first name. So she was prepared for my visit. She took me on a tour of the facilities, and the facilities were immaculately clean. She introduced me to some of the other staff and I felt very comfortable with the environment that was there.

Rooms are ok. Continuity of care is terrible. Many agency nurses. The phones are not answered on weekends and even sometimes during the week. For the money, we wish we would have moved our loved one out, but waited too long. A disappointment because we have had a family member there a few years ago with little to no problems.

We loved the people and activities at Catholic Care Center. It was more expensive that my father would even consider. We liked everything about it. They gave my mother wonderful care when she was there. Their memory care can't be beat.

Catholic Life Center Assisted was a very elaborate place, and almost too fancy for me, although I know it's one of the best in Wichita. They have a chapel and a retreat house. They showed me the houses they wanted me to buy. It was 1,400 square feet with two bedrooms, one with a bath, and one with a shower. If I bought it, then I could move into the next step, which would be the assisted living care. However, if I did not buy the house, I could not get into the assisted living. They have trips, groups that go places and do things, an exercise room, and even somebody to fix your hair. The grounds were well kept up and the entrance was like walking into Trump Tower. The staff who showed me around was not pushy, but gave me a lot of information.

Assisted Living. Evening meals are frequently sandwiches such as sloppy joes, grilled cheese, turkey and even bologna. Residents are currently in a campaign to improve service in the dining room. Recently a resident waited 25 min. before their order was taken at lunch. Ridiculous. Rent increases every year; service does not improve. Investigate before deciding on CCC, The 24 hour nurse is not an R.N. They are LPNs.

Positive: Spacious rooms with no hospital feeling. Several food options without the cafeteria feel. Diverse activity schedule. Overall staff is friendly and educated. One nurse on duty at all times who can provide assistance with medication. Also several aides are available to provide care. Negative: Lacking technology such as: unable to make online payments; lacking an internet cafe as well as WiFi capabilities.
