I toured Sedgwick Plaza. The girl that gave us a tour was very nice, and the girl at the front desk was wonderful and charming. Overall, when I left, it was depressing, because the carpets need to be cleaned. They're stained and it's hard to navigate in there. You have to go up the elevators and then you're lost. The outside appearance when you go up looks nice, but as you get closer, it really needs some maintenance to the pillars and things like that. The faculty and staff were really nice, I liked them, but the building overall really needs some updating. It's a lot cheaper than the other place, too, so you get what you pay for. The rooms were a little bigger but dated. I like that they had a walk-in closet when you walked in the door, and then there was also a closet in the bedroom, so that's good for storage, but they're very dated. The dining room is where I saw the stained carpet, and there were people down there playing bingo. That was nice, but it was an overall kind of downer feeling when we left The girl at the front desk had been there for 33 years, so she was just charming, upbeat, sweet, and very kind. And the staff that showed us around was very young but did a nice job. She wasn't as professional as the one at the other place. This one was laid back and in jeans, which doesn't bother me. The place may need updating a little bit, but not as bad as the rooms which need to be updated more.

I visited Sedgwick Plaza but I was not impressed with them. The people were nice, but I didn't like the facilities. Their rooms were nice, big, clean, and smelled good. But I wasn't impressed with the entrance, it felt like I was walking into a cafe. I felt uncomfortable when I walked in. The person who gave the tour was very nice and helpful in everything. It sounds like they had quite a few activities, and there was a man and a woman entertaining in their family room at the time that I was there. It just was not what I thought Mom would be happy with, and I didn't like the smell when I went in. The entrance had a low ceiling and looked like a long tunnel to me.

Sedgwick Plaza was very well-managed, nice, and clean. It was near the center of the city, so you would still be within close range of social activities. It just felt comfortable. It felt like home. They were more open, honest, and upfront about their pricing. They were friendly. They took me on a tour of the building. I didn't have to wait. I didn't have to ask very many questions because everything was covered. They were very thorough with the tour. The building itself was older than the first one I went to, but it was well-kept and well-managed. They had a laundry room and an exercise room. They had different activities for the residents to do, like bingo night and church on Sunday. It seemed like they had about everything that the other places had. They had a more diversified population there. It was just a better fit for me. It's expensive though. All of these places are pretty expensive.

I toured Sedgwick Plaza. I was very much impressed, but I just can't afford them, that's my problem. I like everything about them. I think that the rooms are ample for me. They're small yet compact. I would describe the staff as very helpful in all things, very pleasant to speak to, and so forth. I had a meal there, and it was very good. I was well pleased. I don't remember what we had, but I remember that they had shrimp, Jell-O, and cake for dessert. I thought the facility was very clean, too.

I did a tour of Sedgwick Plaza. They were lower priced than the other facility I visited. It wasn't quite as nice, but it was still decent enough to the point that it wasn't like junk or anything. They seemed like they knew what they were talking about. When I started talking about the VA stuff, they actually handed me a pamphlet for Patriot Angels. They provide offsite stuff, like going to the grocery store and stuff like that. They supply three meals a day, but they also have a secondary menu that you can order from, and you can order anything you want off it. That's included on top of their normal everyday main meal that they're having that day. The facility seemed like an apartment building. They've got a game room, exercise room, and a library. They had cable in all rooms. They don't have WiFi, but that's not hard to deal with, it's easy to get. The problem is that they don't have any openings in studio apartments. The staff seemed knowledgeable on what information you needed. They took us for a tour of the whole place, then gave us the prices, told us about the VA, and gave us more information on Patriot Angels and stuff like that. They seem to be pretty well educated.

When it was time to move my parents closer I looked at the various independent and assisted living communities in the area. When I visited Sedgwick Plaza I knew it had to be their new home. It felt like family from the start. Chrystal, the housekeeping director, showed me around and she was so loving. Through the four years that Mom and Dad lived there we grew so close to the nurses and aides. When Mom and Dad had to move into a Memory Care community the nurses from the Plaza visited them there and we’ve kept in touch. My mother just passed this week and the Plaza called to ask about her funeral and offered to let us have a memorial service there so her friends and caregivers can attend. These wonderful people will always be in my heart.

Sedgwick Plaza was very well kept. The residents looked happy. There were lots of activities for them to do. We looked at an activities calendar and they have movie night and bingo, and my dad was really excited about it. The staff was very kind, caring, and understanding. My dad was having trouble walking around the facility, and she was able to get him a walker. That way, he could be more independent and walk around and look. We didn't really get to see the food, but from what we were told, it sounded really good. They had good dining hours.

I did a tour of Sedgwick Plaza. It was very comfortable and nice. The only problem I saw with that was that parking is a problem, but they're working on that. The staff was wonderful. The apartment was great. It was really spacious, pristine, and well-arranged. I think it was everything you would want in an apartment in an independent living facility. The dining area looked nice and comfortably spacious. It's an older facility, but it's well-maintained. It's really convenient with some shopping. She did show us the salon and a theater room. I only met the marketing person, but I would rate her high. They need to improve on parking, and I think they need an exercise room.

Sedgwick Plaza seemed fine as well. I didn't have any issues with it. It was a larger facility than where my dad's at now. It was an option. The rooms looked very nice. I looked at a one-bedroom and a studio. The staff was very knowledgeable, very friendly. They had an exercise room, a salon, and a pretty good selection of library books. They had card-playing clubs, checkers, and chess. They seemed to be pretty active. The building's in the city, but it was a wooded area nearby, and it looked very well-kept. The staff members were very helpful.

I liked everything about Sedgwick Plaza in Wichita. I toured their independent living. It was nice, clean, and actually pretty big. I was surprised that they were able to furnish quite a bit of stuff in it. The parking seemed to be a little scarce, but they assured me it wasn't. The staff I met there was very nice and very helpful. I wasn't totally prepared with all my questions. After I got home I had a couple, but they were certainly very nice and very willing to answer anything. The one that showed me around was nice. She showed me everything. I didn't eat anything there, but the dining hall was very attractive. It was a big area, well-spaced, and had plenty of room to get around. The inside of the facility is quite attractive. It's an older building, but it was fixed-up very nice. The halls were wide for wheelchair access. There was an elevator too. Both the inside and the outside were pretty nice. It looks like their landscaping looks pretty good, and there were benches around to sit on. They have a salon, and they have a fitness room too. It appears they also have plenty of staff. I think, all things considered, this might be the best place for me. I'm not sure I'm quite ready though, but it suited me pretty well. I'm not sure I could find another one for the price, that I would like any better. I liked the location and everything about it.

The living environment for my uncle is good. Sedgwick Plaza does a nice job with cleanliness. We are having a couple of issues with them not following up on a few things, so that isn't necessarily a good thing. It's not going to cause us to leave. The food is good, and the staff is friendly. His room is nice and clean. It seems to fulfill his needs. It's a one-bedroom apartment, but I believe they also have a two-bedroom and a studio. He's not in great health, so he hasn't had the opportunity to engage in all the activities. He's only been outside twice. Once to the doctor, and today I took him out for a drive.

We went to Sedgwick Plaza yesterday. They had a very nice facility. Alexis was the one who took us around. She took us everywhere in the building, she explained things, and she answered our questions and the questions that we could have. She told us to call her if we had other things that we would like to know about. She was very helpful and very forthright with whatever she has to tell us about. We just visited the independent living portion because that's where we would be going into. The staff also explained some things about the assisted living section, so we had kind of an idea what to anticipate if we were there or if we had to move into that section of that facility. She showed us two rooms. We saw a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom, and we were more interested in the 2-bedroom. We went into the dining room, and she showed us their menus. She also showed us an activity sheet for the month, and we brought that home with us.

Sedgwick Plaza was a very nice and very friendly place. I liked the atmosphere, the few people I met, the layout of the rooms and the building. The staff was very friendly. The facility was very clean and laid out very nicely with the seniors in mind as to how they'd get around or be able to move. It seemed friendlier than some of the other places we visited. The apartments were very nice. It's easy to get around and find your way around or whatever room you needed to go to, easy to get to the dining room or the playroom or whatever. We visited during lunchtime, and the food was very well prepared.

Sedgwick Plaza is a little older community. It's more of a hotel design with more floors and hallways which is less of what my mother would want. The staff who helped me during the tour was fantastic. I didn't eat any of their food but the dining area was fine, and it was good. The day that I was there they had a whole bunch of vendors on the main floor, they were serving wine and having a pretty good time. The place is certainly adequate, the pricing was fine and the location was good, but the age and design weren't preferrable. The cleanliness of the place is good.

We initially saw the independent living at Sedgwick Plaza, and the staff showed us how it can be assisted. They do like an ala carte, so you can start out as independent and as you need different services they add it on for a fee. The place itself was a little dull, it wasn't very fresh nor inviting when we went in. It was decorated like a home would be decorated, but it was still a bit 20th century and not up-to-date. It wasn't so homey. I only met 2 staff members and they were very nice.

Sedgwick Plaza was expensive, but the facilities didn't look as good as where my sister is staying. They have an emergency rope in the room and somebody will come and assist you if you pull it. The staff members were very helpful. The dining room was nothing fancy. They have activities.

Sedgwick Plaza is very clean and up-to-date. They have lots of activities and activity rooms, and there are lots of staff members around. It appeared safe and the rooms were very nice. It was just an impressive place for me, and I was disappointed my parents couldn't move there. The staff member showed me around and showed me the apartment they would be moved into if it works out.

We had a pretty extensive tour of Sedgwick Plaza and saw everything. It was all very positive and the staff was very friendly. In fact, we got there late because mom couldn't find her hearing aid, but the staff stayed later, which we appreciated very much. They made Mom feel very welcome. The room we saw was small, like a studio apartment but was well furnished, clean, and neatly kept. The building overall was a clean and older, but there was not a whole a lot of outside facilities. They told us about their activities, and they said they had a weekly shuttle driver which takes the residents to the grocery store one day, and a local entertainment or somewhere else another day. The people were quite mobile and active, and several were engaged in a card game. We also saw a library.

Sedgwick Plaza was very helpful in helping us find just the right location for my dad. He got in really quick and they've been very accommodating, even giving him a ride to church on Sunday. The food is good with lots of choices, and my dad doesn't have to walk far which was a good thing. The way it's set up allowed my dad to stay in independent instead of assisted so we're very pleased. The people really look out for each other and consider themselves a community of helping each other. My dad has only been there a month. If you can't find something that you like or fits your diet, there are plenty of other choices. They've given my dad some good perks just because he's a veteran. He didn't have to pay a community fee which is often substantial. The value was the main reason that my dad said he would go. The residents were very friendly, came up, shook my dad's hands when we were visiting, and were very welcoming.

My father moved into Sedgwick Plaza into his own apartment with a bathroom with a shower and a little kitchenette with a refrigerator, and he seems to be doing well. The people are very nice, friendly, and helpful. They have bingo, a library, and the dining room for the assisted living is separate from the independent living. Their parking is terrible and not much for the whole facility.

The living atmosphere at Sedgwick Plaza is good, and the services are reasonably good. The rooms are nice and large with a great deal of closet space, full-sized refrigerators, and bathroom with showers. The food is good, and the dining tends to be more flexible. There's a place where we normally see movies, a nice living room area, a nice library, and covered and uncovered parking for those who require it. The place is a little older, but it has advantages. It has a basement, so there's a place to go if there's a tornado. Most of the staff I would rate 5 stars, but the servers in the dining room I'd rate 4 stars. One of the things that discouraged me about this community is the activities. Last night they said they were going to have a movie and I was all excited about that but they switched on a channel on TV that has commercials. I was not at all happy about that because I have my own cable TV, and I prefer something on DVD or tape.

Everything is going well at Sedgwick Plaza. They have a calendar of about six activities a day. They have friendly staff members and everybody is very helpful. There are meals, transportation, housekeeping, physical and occupational therapy on-site, and social workers if needed. They room that my sister-in-law has is spacious. They check on her, and they assign a mentor when someone first arrives to make them comfortable and to make sure they know where to go for different activities and for their meals.

My dad moved into Sedgwick Plaza. It fit him better than the other place he stayed, and it was nice. It was homier, it wasn't as grand, but everybody was nice. The apartments were bigger, everything was clean, and they had an apartment available at a location that he liked. He can go down to the dining room to get something to eat from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., they have a bus that goes to a supermarket and the pharmacy, and they go places. They have a lot of family-oriented things where the families are invited, so you can see the interaction with the people. They have movies in the theater every day at 6:00 p.m., and once a week they have a movie night with popcorn. They have two living rooms, one with a piano, which a lady plays every day at lunchtime, and another farther away where they have coffee and snacks available all day. They have a craft room, and chairs in the hallways where people gather. We just really like it.

Sedgwick Plaza was pretty nice. The staff member very helpful and very informative during the tour. I saw a studio and it was kind of small. There was a library, an arts and crafts room, a room which they use as a chapel, and a room for Bingo. The dining hall is open 24-hours a day. It has high back chairs with wheels on them and it's restaurant-style. They bring the meals to you and you can order specific things off a menu. It has two elevators and a fitness room. It's a high-rise three-story building.

My mom recently moved here and absolutely loves it. She says staff is wonderful and residents are so friendly. Whenever I go to visit, I notice how happy everyone seems. The facility is being remodeled and is going to be even nicer. There are lots of planned activities to keep my mom busy. The dining is excellent with lots of choices. It's nice to know my mom is in a safe, caring environment and that she is so happy.

The facilities are wonderful and the staff are absolutely the greatest. My mother lives there and is very happy. She keeps telling me just how wonderful the staff treats her and how they take care of her needs. The food is good and the facility is very clean, in fact, it reminds me of many of the four and five star hotels that I stayed in while traveling for business. The only negative comment that I have is in reference to their book keeping department. My mother relocated four months ago and the billing has been incorrect for the past four months. Other than that, it has been a great experience.

If you are looking, don't miss out on this diamond in the rough. Our dad lives at Sedgwick Plaza and we couldn't be happier. We moved him last year and although he wasn't "quiet" ready, we knew he couldn't be at home any longer. His quality of life was dwindling from last of socialization and he wasn't eating right. Misty was kind and caring and took time to coach us through the hard stuff. She gave us as much time as we needed and helped to put the puzzle pieces together in what we thought would be an overwhelming situation. Dad couldn't be happier. We toured many other communities and although they were newer, the atmosphere didn't have the same warm, friendly welcome that Sedgwick Plaza did. The family atmosphere, caring staff and very welcoming residents (they love to visit) makes this community feel like home. Residents and staff make you feel like you are family when you first come in the door. We would recommend if you are looking to give them a call, you'll be happy you did.

We got here in Sedgwick Plaza in Halloween of 2012, and I am very satisfied. It's great, and I just downsized to a small place when my wife moved out. It's three stories, and I'm in a one-bedroom apartment, which is nicely sized. They have different sizes. They have two bedrooms also, and that's what we had when my wife was here. The food is good; there are three meals a day. They have a movie every night, and it's free. They have a lot of activities, a lot of professional music groups and individuals come in, they play the piano, violin, and most of them sing. They have an exercise program. I went into an exercise class in the morning, they had a woman leading it, and I found out later she was 93 years old, which was mostly movement, not lifting weights or dancing. It lasts probably 25 minutes, six days a week. The rent, I really can't compare that; it's no higher than the others because I wouldn't be here if it was. I was talking to a gentleman the other day; he is 95 years old, and he has been here 22 years. What stands out is the attitude of the people that are here; they all like it, and the staff really works closely to please everybody.

My parents moved to Sedgwick Plaza summer of 2006 after my mom had a major stroke. They found it to be clean, comfortable and welcoming. Residents and staff were eager to help them get settled in and involved in activities. Meals were good and the staff was so caring. Eventually they moved to the Assisted Living wing where mom received excellent and attentive care. Even after mom passed away in 2010, dad stayed on, as he felt they were his Wichita family. He lived there until he passed away in 2014 and was an enthusiastic supporter of Sedgwick Plaza the whole time. As a family member, I was so thankful that they were safe, cared for and happy. Sedgwick Plaza is a beautifully decorated and comfortable residence, and I can't say enough about the wonderful staff.

So far, everything at Sedgwick Plaza is fine. The staff is nice and the food is really good. However, maintenance service sucks. There have been a couple of things that have been broken and they didn't come for a few days. Mom didn't get to take a shower for five days. They have a library, games and movies but they could improve on the maintenance.

This is a lovely assisted living complex in northeast Wichita, off of busy Woodlawn. It is pricey, but provides solid support for those needing some assistance with activitirs of daily living, housekeeping, meals and transportation. The apartments are spacious and there is ambiance in the complex and grounds. The staff work hard to keep an eye out for those changes that might indicate a higher level of care is needed. It is a friendly community. There are tiers of services available dependent upon resident needs. Also, a home health agency is stationed at the complex for those that need additional medical support like setting up medications or reminders to take meds. Ground security is good and there is an active social schedule.

This was a very clean center. They were very friendly to my relative, and had tons of activities for him to do. The people that worked there helped me with all my questions, and helped my relative do his every day tasks with care and ease. I highly recommend this facility. Every day they have him do a few activities such as crosswords and puzzles and they let others make jewelery. His only complaint is about the staff sometimes seeming to ignore his requests. I don't know the specifics because I cannot be there all the time but in his opinion they don't pay enough attention to him some days, but most of the time he's fine with what goes on. I have also heard this from some of his friends there, so maybe they need to spend a little more time attending to their clients but like I said I don't stay there so I have no idea what's going on.
