Primrose Retirement Community of Duluth was a very nice facility, but it's too expensive. The staff was very pleasant and informative. Their facility was well laid out and attractive, and the apartments were spacious. Their location was a little isolated. We also met the chef and saw that the menu was varied. I think the kind of people who would want to visit Primrose are those who have a large financial reserve, since it's private pay.

Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh was good. It's a very nice facility. They don't have very much availability right now, but they offer a lot of amenities. They have an enclosed garage, upstairs and downstairs apartments, a theater room, a pub, assisted living care, independent living, and memory care. They have all sorts of activities, and there's a lot of community involvement. The rooms were nice. They're very, very roomy, and I think they offer anything a person could want. It's in a good spot too. It's peaceful but still not too far from places. The staff was very personable and didn't really rush me through things. I expected to be there for about an hour tops, but I think I was there for over two hours. So, she didn't rush me by any means; instead she showed me things, answered my questions, and provided me with the information I needed.

I have several friends who are at Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh. I like it very much. I like the choices and sizes of the rooms. I like the manager, and I'm impressed with her. I also like the layout of the dining room. I don't feel like I'm in a hospital; it seems more like a nice dining room where you can go to eat. I've been there when they had people come in for entertainment. I like how the rooms are laid out. The food was good, and their food is the best among all the facilities I've visited. I think the value for the money that they get there is good.

I toured Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh, which seemed like a very nice community. I actually had a security deposit put down there. But for reasons I don't understand, the nurse rejected my mother at the last minute as a potential person to live there, and I had no idea why they did that. I got a refund for that. It's a new community that's really state-of-the art as far as nice big rooms, exercise facilities, snack and visiting areas, and optional parking for $75 a month. The grounds are outstanding. The lady that was in-charge of putting people in the room was not terribly knowledgeable, but she was extremely polite, hard-working and energetic. I can't give them a good score because they rejected my mother at the end after getting the deposit. I think the problem with them is that it's a two-year-old community and they haven't gotten the staff figured out yet. The structure of the building and the grounds are magnificent.

I am going to Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh, IN. I will be in a one-bedroom apartment and it's all light, bright, and cheery and has not been lived in. The place is very quiet. They have cats, which I'm very highly allergic to but they're in another wing, so I probably won't have a problem, but that was a concern. They have an activity sheet and gave us a pie when we left because we didn't have time to eat. The person who helped us was excellent and answered all our questions.

I visited this facility and it was very nice plenty of amenities. After they visited my relative in a rehab facility and described how nice everything was I went to visit Primrose and was told my the same person who did the assessment (Assistant Director of Nursing) he was appropriate for Primrose and she thought he would be a great match. I was told by the Director of Nursing that they were working on the fees and they would get back with me the next day, they had already contacted the social worker at the rehab facility to say they would be moving forward. I never heard anything back. I finally contacted the Director of Nursing again and left a message that I was waiting to hear back from them. I finally received a return phone call and was told that they could not accept my relative. Needless to say my relative and I were very disappointed. The entire process was handled unprofessionally and with very little empathy towards the client or the family. When I told the director of nursing that the assistant had told me that my relative was appropriate for Primrose her response was that it was her first assessment. Does that mean she wasn't qualified to make the assessment? I want people to understand that sometimes looks can be deceiving when you are looking for a placement for an elderly relative you need to make sure that they will be treated fairly and with understanding.

Primrose was brand new and everything was sparkling clean and very nice. They were very nice to me. If there's anything that didn't suit me as much as other facilities, it's the size. Primrose is much bigger. The dining room seemed very nice and they have a lot of extra meeting rooms. I didnt like the layout of the living area as much, but it it was bigger. They probably have a little more as far as caregiving goes. They offer just about everything, like exercise rooms, transportation, and all the activities that you would expect.
