I'm in a senior living apartment called Serenity Manor in Indianapolis. It's very nice. There's nothing really wrong where I'm at. I just want to move to a different location, that's all. The management took over just last year, and they're doing a lot of improvements. They've added sprinklers to our apartments, new balconies, and a lot of different things. They are really doing a good job, so it is a nice place right now.

The community is disgusting. Owners purchased 3+ years ago. They have proceeded to destroy what used to be an OK place for seniors to live, definitely not safe. Common areas are dirty. Mold issues, mice issues, major plumbing issues. Ceilings cave in, apartments flood. 1 of 6 buildings was supposedly rehabbed. Zero quality of work done. Constant turnover of staff. 10 managers in 3+ years. Outrageous rent. It would be an upgrade to live in your car. Very sad.

Since I've lived here the staff has always been helpful and courteous. The management has recently changed; and I believe that could be for the better. The building activities have increased exponentially, and I see that a lot of residents enjoy the interactions. I have noticed that maintenance can be somewhat slow at times; and I can understand that to a point. I've also noticed that with Serenity Manor being a 55+ facility; there seems to be a lot of children on property daily. These kids aren't just visiting; they live there as well. I know this because I hear them running back and forth across my ceiling every night and morning. I know that nothing is perfect, and I expect for there to be some things that will never meet my specifications; but overall, when I look back on my stay with Serenity Manor; I've been, and still am pleased with my choice. Thank you and God bless......

I toured Serenity Manor at Indianapolis. I like that the place is very spacious. There are a lot of rooms. The bedrooms were roomy. They have a walk-in tub, and I loved that. I do not have to worry about being able to lift my leg in order to get into the shower; I can just walk into it. Nobody's perfect, but it was really, really nice. I would say they're on the top of my list of options. The lady who gave me the tour was really, really nice, considerate, very polite, and very informative. I really like it because it is not just the apartments. They also have areas where residents can get together. They have potluck, and they have areas to sit and rest. I love the fact that their mailboxes are not located outside; they're actually inside the apartment complex. They have a gym. They have those types of places where you can come out and there are benches and rocking chairs around the complex and in front of the office building. Inside the building, they have a library. With the library, you can take books, and you can also add books to the library if you would like to. it's very nice.

We are currently at Serenity Manor. They just took over a year ago, and it used to be Crestwood East. They're improving, and their maintenance is getting better. They have improved outside quite a bit. The guardrails on the upper levels were too short, and they've repaired that. They are starting to try to provide different things like games and get-togethers and stuff like that, but it's going to take some time. The place is clean. They have just re-done the whole outside. They keep it clean, but they still need some improvements. This place was built in the 1960s, so it has a little bit of a problem. We have libraries in each little building, they have a fitness center that they're trying to get started, and they're starting a walking club.
