My mom lived there and for the last 10 months that she was there she absolutely loved it. She made new friends she enjoyed the daily devotions. She was not so happy about the food but that is because she from the south and just ate different. She missed her home cooking but they made the transition so much easier for her and me too. She loved the staff and was very fond of maintenance cause they made her laugh all the time. I really have nothing about the care she received.

I toured The Wyndmoor Evansville. It was very clean with a lot of open spaces for the residents to gather if they wanted. I only spoke with that administrator, and she was very nice and very helpful. The facility was very good. I liked the convenience, the cleanliness, and the additives.

I toured The Wyndmoor Evansville. The staff was very nice. It was very clean, but it was just not what I was looking for. It's more like assisted living, and I'm not ready for that yet. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The rooms were too small. That's one of the main reasons. The studio apartment looks like a closet, and it doesn't even have a closet. The one-bedroom is nice, but it's more like a nursing home than an assisted living facility. That's the first assisted living facility I ever visited, so I wasn't sure what to expect, and it's not something that I'm interested in. They showed me the whole facility. They do different things. They have card night, and they have musicians coming in and entertainment for them. They have movie nights and things like that. The atmosphere was very nice. I didn't see any residents that looked that happy. They were having breakfast when I got there, so they were quite busy in the dining room.

I'm at The Wyndmoor of Evansville and I'm doing OK. The staff members are all very nice. I like them all. I've got a nice room, and it's comfortable. They say it's large, but I don't think it's large. I'm in the new part and the rooms in the new part were supposed to be larger and nicer than the old part, but I don't think it's very large. It had a little kitchenette. The dining area is very nice and we've got twelve tables. The food is very good. Today, we have Friday's lunch and dinner and we have to mark what we want on it, like breaded fish and vegetables. The dessert is a chocolate chip cookie for lunch and dinner an angel food cake. They have good choices. Today, the fourth graders from Highland School came and had their violins. They were all dressed in orange Halloween shirts, and they put on a little Halloween program for us. We enjoyed that. I went to a painting class, but the instructor didn't show up. On Tuesday, we had a lady come and she played songs with her bells, and that was very good. I enjoyed that a lot. I don't go to bingo because I think it is boring, but a lot of them go because I think that's one of the main activities. I went to the beauty shop and the lady comes every Tuesday and she cut my hair Tuesday. We have a van that goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have to make our appointments early. They would like for us to make it three weeks ahead of time. I've got to give them information about my doctor's appointment, which is in three weeks. It's just awfully expensive. They bring my medicine to me. I take insulin shots and they give me my insulin shot every night.

My mother has moved into The Wyndmoor of Evansville. I chose them because of their apparent quality. I've been to the facility several times and I've talked with staff quite a few times and they are obviously on the ball and very caring. I was particularly impressed with the sensitivity of the staff to the needs of my mother. They're very welcoming and very attentive. They do a good job of looking after her. They are renovating and doing quite a bit of work on the kitchen, so they are having to truck a lot of the food over from a sister facility in Evansville. That has an impact on the quality of the food. There are not a lot of facilities, just a few, but the quality and upkeep of the apartment are very good. There is a garden area that's enclosed in a courtyard that is very important to my mother who loves to garden, but it needed a little more care. There are no out-of-pocket costs. The costs are covered by Medicare and Medicaid entirely.

We went to The Wyndmoor Evansville. It was adequate. I wasn't overly thrilled with anything there. It was kind of average. The location wasn't the best. They had a garden, like a quad kind of an area in the middle of the facility. It was rather small and they were under construction. The staff was great. It was very clean.

Brookdale Evansville is a fine place and I know they have good ratings. The rooms were smaller than what I'm used to. It would be nice if they were large as my home. The staff was very nice.

Brookdale Evansville (formerly Sterling House of Evansville) was clean and orderly. They had more indoor activities like cards, exercises, board games, and talks. It was good. It had an on-staff nursing facility. They answered a lot of my questions about the care of an elderly parent.

Sterling House of Evansville is a gorgeous place. The staff are friendly, but they are very expensive. The place is immaculately clean. It’s shiny, bubbly, and colorful.

Sterling House of Evansville was very clean. The food and the facility itself were very good. I would recommend it. The staff seemed to be quite capable. The biggest issue I have is the financial part of it; they weren't up front about finances. I wouldn’t recommend them for long time care.

Sterling House of Evansville is a very nice facility. Their apartments are nice as well. I think they have outside entrances. This was the first facility I visited for my half-sister because it was closest to me. Overall, it is a good facility but my half-sister couldn't afford it.

I visited this facility with my Mamaw when she was looking to move into a facility. It was a hard decision for my Mamaw to give up her own lifestyle and move to a facility. But she was getting older and fell a lot. In fact she had done broke her hip once already. Upon entering the Sterling House we were greeted by staff and residents alike. They were very friendly and helpful. They quickly answered any questions that we had. They explained that residents still had their individual freedoms, but staff was the for immediate assistance if it was needed. The facility was nice and clean. It was nicely decorated to with nice looking furnishings. One of the neat things was they had a bird sanctuary that the residents seemed to like a lot. Over all I was impressed with the facility and Mamaw really liked it also. The only thing we didn't like was this place was over an hour away from home.

Grandpa was an active preacher until he fell and broke his hip. Then he was unable to continue to go from door to door evangelizing. I lived almost five hundred miles away when he had to gone into the nursing home. So when I came back for the Holidays I went to visit him at the Sterling House. The place was decorated in all different types of religion to accommodate everyone. My grandpa was happy and accepting help from the nursing staff. We were able to go out and sit where they had a huge bird sanctuary. When he was laying down for a nap I went to speak with the staff and ask if he needed anything. They had a great store in the activities department where they directed me that I could get anything he would want there. I was able to bring him a small Christmas tree to put on his table. The staff was so sweet to him and eventually all of the cnas’s started to call him grandpa which made him feel at home.
