My mom has her own little place at Hickory Glen. It's a four-story building. Each resident has their own room. We had to supply the furniture in her place there, but they would bring her meals to her room. They would clean her room once a week. They have a salon, rehab services, games, and puzzles she could build. She's still doing well there. The food is good, too. Their staff is excellent. She is only paying $2200 a month, which is enough for her, and that included her meals and transportation if she goes to the doctor and stuff.

I would not recommend this facility especially if your loved one needs to use an elevator they have repeatedly refused to fix the broken elevators and have told us that they would not be fixed for 2 years. out of safety concerns I would recommend another facility

I like Hickory Glen very much. There were people all around who were chatting with one another. They all smiled at me and had a sparkle in their eyes. They weren't dead. It was expensive, and I can't commit myself to that when I don't know that I'll be able to pay for it. They had a little swimming pool. They had various kinds of craft activities. The staff was excellent, knowledgeable, and interested in being helpful. They had very nice rooms, and they were clean, but they were small. The food was excellent. I like the food very much.

My mother lived at Hickory Glen for about 4 years prior to having a stroke. She absolutely loved it there and we, the family, loved it too. The staff know all of the residents and go out of their way to make sure everyone's needs are met. Unfortunately Mom needs more skilled care now, but I would recommend Hickory Glen to anyone looking for a close knit community living experience.

Hickory Glen felt very comfortable, it was very homey and everybody was friendly. It had a lot of things that we were looking for. The person who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and very personable. She answered all the questions I had, took her time, and made us feel very welcome there. Their food is fantastic. The rooms have a small stove, refrigerator, kitchenettes in the 1-bedroom and more or less like a full kitchen in the 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom deluxe. They have good security in place. They have occupational therapy and physical therapy onsite, they have a workout room, and a movie theater type thing. They have a lot of amenities for the seniors going in there.

My mother has resided in Hickory Glen for 6 years and our family is impressed with the service, the available activities, the friendliness and caring of all the staff, the respect shown to all the residents, and the constant concern by everyone employed here to make this a home like environment.

Very friendly community. We toured with the marketing director and got to speak to the director. We were able to try a meal which was very good. We sat with a couple of residents which was nice because they could tell us what it is like to live there. Lots of things to do and they can take mom to church on Sunday's which was important to us. Parking was not covered, but they have valet parking which made up for not having covered parking. We saw several people milling about, so it just seemed warm and friendly.

It seemed very nice. The apartments were nice. We just sort of walked through the place. We ate lunch there, and the food was very nice. Mostly we just talked to this one lady, and she was really nice. She kept calling us and inviting us to different things. We did go back a couple of times like everyone really went to St. Patrick’s Day party, and they had some Irish dances.
