Our exterior doors are on a timed lock, to lock in the evenings and unlock in the mornings. Each apartment is equipped with emergency pull cords. Our facility is staffed 24 hours.

We encourage residents to bring along their furry or non-furry companions. Family members are welcome to bring their pets in to visit their loved ones in their apartments as well.

There is always at least one person here. During the days and evenings, when our residents are the most active, there are always multiple staff members on site. Nights, late evening, weekends and holidays, there is always at least one person on site and there is always a Director on call if one of them is not in the building.

Consistent safety checks, monitoring of residents.

Our meals are all made from scratch, homestyle cooking. Our food is tasty with a wide variety and seasonal menus.

Residents are encouraged to bring their furry companions with them. Family members are welcome to bring their pets in to visit their loved ones in their apartments as well.

Courtyard Estates has an Activity Room, Library/Sitting areas, private dining room and main dining room. All of our common areas are available to all of our residents.

Our nursing staff is available to Independent living residents in case of emergency. We do welcome home health agencies, nursing agencies, pharmacies and other agencies to assist in caring for our residents when needed.

We have monthly off-site bus trips, recently we have gone to the Springfield Muni, Litchfield WalMart, Brass Door and Senior Celebration at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

Our Activities Department schedules a variety of entertainment, live music, games, bus trips and other fun. We have a stocked pond for fishing, or to just sit and enjoy. Our Directors work with the Activities department to schedule one on one extra time for those who benefit from independent activities. We also have a beauty shop on site.

Our Facebook page is updated daily with our scheduled activities. Pictures and additional information are often posted throughout the day. We also reach out via phone and/or email to share information and pictures.

Macoupin County Public Transportation takes our residents for weekly shopping trips. Their service is also available to be scheduled for local trips around town, as well as for transportation to and from appointments.

Courtyard Estates accepts residents starting as young as age 55. Residents enjoy a variety of activities. Some of the top activities are BINGO, bus trips, live music entertainment, and as spring approaches being outside with some type of activity.

Courtyard Estates is located in Girard, which is on Historic Route 66. Courtyard Estates has nicely landscaped grounds for you to enjoy. Gazebo is located in front of the building with easy access. Small grove of trees on the front lawn provides a nice shady area on a warm summer day. Walking paths, with resting benches, continue around the Residence. West of the building is a stocked pond, with a nice sitting area, so you may enjoy the outdoors and nature. Several nice patios and porches connected to the building are available, depending on your desire to enjoy the sun or the shade.

Residents are able to bring their personal vehicles with them. We do have garage bays available to rent. Macoupin County Public Transportation takes our residents for weekly shopping trips. Their service is also available to be scheduled for local trips around town, as well as for transportation to and from appointments.

Many of the IL residents are involved with their own activities. Garage bays are available so IL residents can bring their cars. If they are not self-engaged in their daily schedule, they also enjoy bus trip for shopping or evening trip to a local restaurant or other planned outing. One of the favorite places is The Brass Door in Carrolton. The meal is served Family Style. Springfield Muni is on the schedule. The staff is always looking for new places to go and new ideas from you!

Our staff continues education with online training as well as in-service learning.
