My mom is at Cedar Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care, and she's only been there two days. It is small and cozy. Her room is clean and nice. They've been very accommodating, and the staff seem very nice so far. They have live entertainment, a movie theater, and a beauty salon, but mom is under quarantine so she cannot leave the room yet.

Cedar Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care was great. The layout was nice. The staff was friendly. They have a makeshift movie theater type viewing area for the residents. My dad happens to be a big fan of movies, so I thought that was very unique. The fitness center and salon were all available. The size of the studios was appealing.

My mom has made great friends and likes the staff but the food has gotten very cheap and repetitive. They are short staffed and don’t act on the complaints of residents. It’s not cheap to live there. They have decent activities there and that’s what keeps my mom engaged.

Cedar Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care was a nice place. It was a little smaller, but they couldn't guarantee a price for us. In other words, they're going to do an evaluation and the price would be based on that. They wanted to increase the price $1,300 a month by next year, but they're a nice memory care facility.

My Mom is 94 and has been recently diagnosed with Dementia. She can still function well, but needs alot of Cueing. We chose Cedar Lake because of the Residence Club program that seems to be a combination of Assisted Living and Memory Care. Mom moved in 2 weeks ago and has adjusted very well. The Staff is exceptional. Each and everyone we have met that works there, is well trained and very Caring. They have a wonderful daily program of activities to keep Mom active and socializing. The facilities are immaculate and the food is quite good. There were no surprises as everything was clearly explained in advance. So far, I do not think that Mom could be in a better Place, and that is very comforting to me.

My uncle moved into the assisted living side of Cedar Lake over three years ago. For the past year, he has resided in the memory care area. I visit with him at least three times per week, so I am quite familiar with the staff and many of the residents. I give Cedar Lake five stars, not because everything in these three years has been perfect, but because the concerns I've had have always been addressed promptly and with genuine care and concern. I chose Cedar Lake because of its location near our home, and also because it is small, personable and warm. When my uncle moved into Assisted Living, there was Shirley trying to help him over come his shyness and participate in activities. Then, as he started to become weaker, the Assisted Living Director, Rusty would personally go in and help him dress, toilet and whatever else, because he was calmer with Rusty around. When I was out of town, and my uncle needed to move into memory care, Rusty physically made that move for me, furniture and all, and made sure he was comfortable. When I returned, I quickly bonded with Priscilla, the director of memory care. She was loving and attentive, and even my uncle liked her. Two months later, she took a new job, and Chris was hired. Chris has a completely different style than Priscilla, but in these 10 months, she has proven to be a fantastic Director. She is completely hands on, with a bright shining presence. She doesn't sit and observe. She is a partner to the fantastic care staff, serving meals, holding hands, and singing! Any concerns I have, she takes the time to give careful attention and understanding. She is never defensive, and strives to make any adjustments I ask for. The caregivers deserve medals and praise, especially Mary, Farzana, Khalia(sp?) and Nicole. I'm sure I've forgotten some. They are patient and always willing to fill me in on any change in my uncle. Believe me, he requires a lot of patience and a thick skin! Lastly, they recently replaced the activity director in Memory care with Jennifer. What a blessing! She involves the residents in every aspect of the day, from games and reading, to making Christmas ornaments for their tree, and even had them plan and prepare for a fantastic party for their families! She also sends emails with personal photos of my uncle interacting, which I am often not there to witness. That never happened before! Is Cedar Lake perfect? No. There are times I have had to call and ask that his room be cleaner, and sometimes the communication between the staff in shift changes is not great. The staff overturned too often in the first couple of years, but that has slowed down. I'd like to keep exactly the staff that is there right now! Would I recommend Cedar Lake? Absolutely! They have cared for my uncle and given me peace of mind. I'll always question if I should have him here with me, but I know I cannot do all that they do. I am very grateful.

Our experience as a family has been excellent with Cedar Lake has been wonderful. The management has been very responsive to our questions and needs since the beginning. Our mom has acclimated to her new apartment, schedule and her fellow residents. She is very comfortable and finds that her apartment, surroundings and support staff help her to feel "at home". The environment is comfortable, cheery and warm and a wonderful place to live and visit.

Pricing is about equal to that of other facilities in the area, although the price goes up every year. The expense of the "extra" or additional services that are available is a little expensive at $15.00 per visit. Food is average. They do put on a really nice Thanksgiving and Easter dinner for residents and their families (families pay for their dinner). Cannot seem to keep cleaning people or caregivers. New ones all the time.

My dad likes it in Cedar Lakes. He likes that the nurses take care of his medication, and he gets three meals a day prepared for him. They have a full calendar of activities. They have a workout room where they have weights available and he has been using that every day.

Cedar Lake was clean. Everyone was extremely friendly and wanted to help. The rooms were very nice. They took us on a tour, and we saw the exercise room. They had a craft thing going and bingo. The people providing care seemed very nice. They seemed to have a lot of people there to help.

I went to Cedar Lake and I like it very much. It was very good. I called and they were able to get back right away. They had very good follow-up, when I finally connected on a Sunday morning, I was able to tour that day. The facility director was very thorough so I had a very nice tour. The only problem is that it's assisted living and my dad doesn't look like he's going to be able to move into assisted living. The grounds and facility location are very nice. I don't recall any outdoor sitting areas or patios. The location is great for me because it's super close to where I live. The inside was very nice, homey, clean and well-maintained. It didn't feel like a nursing home. If they can improve on something, the grounds should have some areas where the residents can go outside, enjoy the outdoors and have a nice view.

Cedar Lake is a brand-new facility. Mom was there for a little bit in assisted living, but it was so brand new that one department wasn’t talking to another. I liked the facility becuase it’s really nice, small, and has a good layout and functional space. They have their own bathroom, a little kitchenette, and a washer and dryer inside the apartment. The staff is great. However, I’m nervous that when you run out of money, you need to go to another place. Also, not being able to determine their financial cost is a big deterrent.

My mother is now in Cedar Lake. They’re very nice and very friendly. The rooms are fairly typical for memory care from what I've seen in other places. They have a salon and a physical fitness center.

Cedar Lake has a party atmosphere. They weren’t as professional as the others, nor as thorough. The people there had a prearranged agenda of what they want to talk about. I was not impressed by the presentation, and I think it was more expensive.

I am grateful for the level of care my dad is receiving in the memory care unit. This past August, when My sister and I moved my dad into assisted living , it broke our hearts. But a week after my dad asked if he could stay . My dad is at home, he is happy, and he is safe. The staff makes me feel welcome every time I visit. Dad is proud of his room and he is at home. What more could a Son ask for?

Our visit with Cedar Lake Assisted Living went well. The people there were very warm. They had a complete community. They had a beautiful dining room with nice tablecloths and glasses, and the people that served there were nice. They had a choice of meal, and if they don't like what was available, there was always something else. We did eat there, and it was good. They had a movie theater room and popcorn. The apartments were very nice. I just liked everything about it, and I would feel comfortable if my parents were there. If they couldn't come down for dinner time, there was a place called the bistro where they could have some stuff. They offered prime rib on Saturdays, and on Fridays, they could have up to two drinks and it could either be beer or wine. It was all included. They had a memory care unit, which was nice for my mom, and the nice part was that my dad could live there with her.

We chose Cedar Lake because the size is a bit smaller and because of the number of caretakers that are there. It's a brand new building, and she was the first one to move in. They provide a lot of services, some of which are free of charge and some have a fee. The staff are super friendly, and they have a lot of staff. They are keeping her very happy. They have a full movie theatre, and they offer entertainment four or five times a week. They play a lot of games, like bingo, to keep the residents active. They are also doing some kinds of crafts. They also try to sing along with the musician that comes in. She is extremely comfortable, happy, and healthy there.
