Auberge at Lake Zurich is very clean. The rooms are spacious, and the staff is very accommodating. The caregivers are awesome and my friend seems to like it. She is a level two memory care and they could go up to level six. So, that was a big plus for us. The day that we went to visit her, they gave us some sliders and some pancakes, and the food was good. Once you leave your room in the morning, you can't go back into it unless you need to use the bathroom. The doors are locked and they don't want people hanging out in their room. They have group sessions, tdo arts and crafts, do physical therapy, and play games. She'll play bingo, they watch movies, and they have visitors like dogs that come in. So, they keep the residents pretty active until it's time to go to bed.

Auberge at Lake Zurich was excellent. It was very nice. It's laid out differently than most of the others. They had what they called cottages. So, everybody's not in the same building. Each cottage has its own dining room and its own food prep area. The rooms were around it. So, it's more of a homey atmosphere. The dining area was nice and clean. Everything looks well maintained. The lady who gave the tour was wonderful. They do picnics and a lot of activities with them. It seemed like they kept the people active. They were not just sitting in front of a television. They were doing things together.

Everything about The Auberge at Lake Zurich was very nice and very clean. The dining area looked nice and the setup was good. They have individual little houses, and there weren't too many people in there. They also have memory care, and they had activities almost every hour which were optional. It was nice. Sue, who's the director there has been contacting me. She's helping me, asking how things are going, or if there's anything she could do, she was nice. They had four or five good-size cottages, and they have an individual chef per house that prepared daily meals. So that was good. It was beautiful, clean, organized, and well-laid out. The whole concept is to not get confused. So imagine a great big square, and around the perimeter of the square are the bedrooms, so you walk out of your bedroom and you're in the living area.

Auberge at Lake Zurich was exceptional. It's a very good place. I liked the layout of the place and how they designed it so that the communication and contact with the residents were at a very good ratio. There are four buildings and there's 16 people in each of the buildings. So, it's a rather small community, but it's also one that I think they give great attention to. Everybody I saw there seemed to be very happy. Overall, it's a very pleasant experience. They had a nice bedroom unit. It had its own bathroom, so privacy is important there. As far as the socializing area, the main area where they gather, it was nice and open. It's got a nice little fireplace, a nice TV, and nice chairs. The dining area was adjacent to it and that was very convenient. It's not going to be a long walk. The lady who gave the tour was wonderful. She was a very positive person. She knows what she's doing and she's got a plan for everything. She seemed to be very accommodating to whatever the needs are. She went out of her way to show me the different rooms and different buildings. So I felt very, very comfortable talking to her. I also met Patty, the director, and she was very, very nice, very accommodating, and very pleasant to work with. They have a gardening club, a culinary club, and some usual games that you would find at most senior centers. They seemed more interactive and that they encouraged a lot of socializing, which is important for memory care and for keeping people's attitude. On the grounds, there's a lot of walking area and encouragement to go outside and participate outside in different venues. They have all kinds of different events to pop up and they work hard to get them in there. They just upgraded the building that I was in that they said my dad would go to. So, it's all clean and brand new. It's got a good feel to it and they all seemed to be very well kept.

I really liked Auberge at Lake Zurich, but it was too expensive for us. I liked everything about it. I liked the people. The grounds were beautiful. You felt secluded almost, but you weren't. It was very nice, but it was just too expensive. They felt warm and friendly. It was just a nice feeling I got. It was nice. It was clean. It wasn't really modern. It seemed like a more laidback place. It was smaller. It wasn't one of these huge places, and that's another reason I liked it a lot. It felt homey. The dining room was on the smaller side. It wasn't huge cafeteria-style. It was very intimate and comfortable.

The community had four different buildings that were all connected. As a patient needs more memory care, they move from one building to another. The room that I saw seems somewhat small. They were doing a program for the residents which my wife and daughter were impressed with. The guy who took us around was very nice, very helpful, and explained things very well. They had a group doing a presentation with a lady doing an audio-visual thing. They had a cat there as well. The person giving the tour also showed us some of the staff at work.

It was comfortable. The people were happy. The staff was very attentive. One time when I was there, they were having karaoke and people were participating. After they ate their meal, they clean them up and bring them up to the lounge before bedtime to watch TV. My friend was only there a day or two. He wasn't able to really participate but they did bring him out to be with the group. They didn't just leave him in his room. There were several staff members around giving a lot of good one-on-one interaction with the individuals. It was very homey.

The community was really nice. They didn’t have an exercise room but the place was considerably warm. The people were very knowledgeable and very nice.

It was recommended to us. The buildings are only one storey and the residents can walk around outside. They have more freedom of movement than the other places that we saw. It was less like a hospital and more like a home. The rooms are nice. They are a bit small, but I don’t think the residents need that much room so I think they are adequate. They have movie nights and they have some entertainment as well. The staff is very caring and cooperative. They really seem to want to help.

We ended up putting Mom here because it fits her needs better. It has the feeling of a rent home with multiple bedrooms. It has a home-style atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, and they were very welcoming to my mom. They were talking to her and not just talking to me. With regards to their food, they don’t give a whole lot of options, but it’s good. I've been there for meals, and I haven’t had anything that I didn’t like yet, which is surprising. The portions are reasonable; they are just the right size. The activities, I am impressed that they are able to get my mom to engage in activities where she never used to participate. I was very impressed.
