Spring Creek was very new and clean. My father moved in to a room that has never been occupied before. The staff is very helpful, accommodating, and flexible. The food was good, I have eaten several times myself, and it’s been good. The dining area was very nice and modern, but there’s no courtyard or garden. They have exercise room and lots of activities. I would highly recommend them.

My mom was a resident of Spring Creek Eagle Island. At first, the activities were good, especially in the independent place, but when she got into assisted living, the activities were minimal. When COVID hit, she's been isolated into a room pretty much for eight months, and that's the reason why we took her out. My biggest complaint about that place is they never answered the phone. I tried to call them many times and a resident actually answered the phone. I live with my mom right now, and she pretty much showers independently and dresses independently. She only needs help remembering to take her medicine, that's why she was in assisted living. She is way more forgetful now due to this COVID because they're trying to keep all the residents stay, so there were hardly any social activities for eight months. I felt like she was regressing faster that way. The administrator of that place wasn't a very nice lady and not very warm, but the people that worked there were nice. I just had an issue with not being able to get somebody to answer the phone on many occasions, especially on the weekend, the after-hours, but the nursing care was excellent. She was in a studio. It was doable for her and she didn't have any complaints. The bathroom's size was good. They had a beauty salon, but it's not working right now because of this COVID. They had a big room with tables in it, where they all got together and did activities. They used to have a lady that did the activities, like exercises in chairs and play games. They had a movie room, too, but they never showed any current movies, it was always really old, black and white. The only bad part is, they don't keep staff there, which is a sign that they don't pay well. I think the food is great, and my mom loves it. Unfortunately, the assisted living is 2-stories and the only way residents could get up and down is by an elevator or stairs. If they ever had a fire, getting everybody out is a concern, because you can't use the elevators and not everybody could use the stairs. Evidently, they have some type of a slide and they do rehearsals, but that's still kind of a concern. If I have to put her back to assisted living, I wouldn't put her there.

I went to Spring Creek Eagle Island and I was looking for assisted and independent living. The tour was wonderful. The woman that took us for the tour was well informed. She was polite and super helpful. I was very happy. The apartments were more than adequate. It's light years ahead of the facility that my in-laws are in.

Spring Creek Eagle Island was a pretty great place. It was updated and newer, and then they had the independent living, which was great. The rooms were OK; none of the rooms in any of these places are anything to write home about, but they are what they are, and they were clean. We would probably go with Spring Creek because it was just a little brighter and a little more on the newer side, and it’s closer for us.

We actually visited several and decided on Spring Creek Eagle Island. It is a little different than some of the others I have visited; it is a little more individualized. They have their own little garage and their own washing and drying facilities in their apartment. That was huge because my mom has dementia, and it is hard for her to walk along the hallway with her stuff to wash and dry them and then get it back. So that was probably the biggest thing. It is brand new, so it looks wonderful. It is independent where she is right now, but they are building an assisted facility right on the same ground should she need that in the future because I was a little hesitant because it is full-blown independent, but now that I know this would be an option, I felt much more comfortable. We talked to two of their people, and they were both wonderful. They showed us around the facility and went ahead and took our deposit, but said, "You know what? Just let us know when you are ready. Rent will not start until you are ready to move in" which was a real relief. They really seem to understand where we were and what we were looking for.
