The lady that toured us and greeted us at the Avista Garden City was the best and most helpful person of our entire tour. The entire ground was very small. That was a huge negative, so I wasn't going to stay there, but the care level was up to a level six, so it's a very high care level, which was a plus. The room was not nice. It was old and small. It had small windows, but the staff was great. The guide was the best ever. If I would rate the entire facility, that would be a four, but the room itself would be a two.

We liked it and we almost put my mother-in-law there. It was very homey, it had a little patio to the room. The staff appeared to be very qualified and kind, and the residents seemed happy. They were very thorough and answered lots of questions, the employees there looked very happy. The facility was clean and updated, and it was located close to restaurants and close enough to hospitals.

It was very nice, but it wasn't a good fit for my husband because it's an assisted living, not skilled nursing. The community was lovely and the people were lovely. It just wasn't the type of place that my husband needs. The staff showed me a studio and a one-bedroom. It was a waitlist for a one-bedroom, and the studio wouldn't have been appropriate for him. We had to furnish it ourselves, and it wasn't a good fit. Breakfast was included. There was a small library and a community room where they had puzzles and such games. I didn't meet any of the staff except the lady that did the tour. The building was lovely.

I liked the smallness of it It was very intimate. It was during the shutdown, so we weren't able to see all of it. We were able to peek into the general areas. They kind of took us around the backway to get to one of the apartments that was available. The bedroom was the largest that we'd seen, and it was impeccably clean. I have nothing negative to say about them. If I were making a decision for myself at this point, I think that would be my top one. I really liked the outdoor setting and the raised gardens.

It is my mother's favorite so far because it is a small community. It is nice, and my mother appreciates its simplicity. The staff members were very nice. The residents were also very welcoming. The food was good. The dining area was very nice.
