We chose Plantation Place for my mom because we think it's really good. It's small and the people there are very friendly. They do a lot of activities. The rooms are small studios. Its a great place because it's only 39 residents and the staff is extremely friendly and professional.

Edgewood Plantation Place is a larger facility. It backs into a golf course, so it's beautiful. The price was higher, so that is another reason why we did not go with them. The rooms were large and accommodating. If you were going to be active and entertaining, it would be a great place to be. I'm sure it's worth the money.

Mom will be moving up to Boise, Idaho in April. My sister-in-law is actually helping to manage about 25 such facilities. So it's part of her network, and she has handpicked Plantation Place for us. It's really nice, small and well kept. We chose it because of proximity to family. The rooms were very nice, very excellent, very warm, very family-type atmosphere. She's going to be well taken care of. They've got a plethora of physical activities, rehabilitation activities, games, TV, cards, clubs, outings. It's a really active group. It's far superior to anything I've seen here in Santa Cruz County, California where I live. It's much more reasonable cost-wise as well.
