Barber Station Assisted Living & Memory Care is beautiful. They have a flat rate for memory care, so it's all-inclusive, and my husband is doing well there and thriving. They have very caring and very attentive staff. They keep all the memory care residents engaged and participating in activities to the extent of what they can. They keep the facility just beautiful-looking. They have entertainment and activities to engage all the residents in memory care. They play puzzles, do indoor bowling with pins and ball blow-ups, toss tic tac toe, and have movie night. They also have live music that comes twice a month. The meals looked wonderful.

Memory Care
While we facilitate all our residents in maintaining as much independence as possible, we also realize that many seniors have challenges with cognitive decline and memory-related issues. We understand this can be stressful and frightening, and we do everything we can to ease those feelings while giving compassion and understanding.
We have a full range of enhanced memory care services for our residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other conditions that affect their cognitive ability. This assistance provides the best opportunity for them to savor a full, meaningful life while still receiving extra care and safety. We also offer care focusing on cognitive stimulation and mental recall.
Our staff are specially trained to provide the quality care needed for seniors with memory loss. Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it does not mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents will spend their days surrounded by people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement and encouragement.

Horrible food - fried, battered, frozen, canned. Constantly understaffed Memory care residents aren’t escorted to facilities because staff “don’t have time” and admin says that basic needs are prioritized and they just don’t make money by providing any personalized care or conversation with residents. Admin is dishonest, condescending, and lies about provided care. Frequently witness neglect of residents. For example, a resident has been begging admin for a pair of shoes. He only has a thin old pair of moccasins and his feet are peeling and painful. He needs shoes. Staff has disregarded his pleas for shoes for months! That’s just one example.

Barber Station Assisted Living and Memory Care was my choice. That was the best place of all. Basically, all of the other facilities looked old. Barber Station Assisted Living and Memory Care is brand new. The rooms look new and everything is new. The entrance looks like a hotel entrance. It's bright and sunny. It's got lots of glass. If I had to go to assisted living, that's where I would go. There were some places that were just rundown and old and beaten and kind of depressing. Barber Station was not. It was the total opposite. The staff was OK. They're busy. I think we had some trouble sort of getting somebody to give us a tour, because we wanted to Saturday, but they were able to accommodate and they already had a waiting list at the time. The dining area was nice.

The main thing I liked about Barber Station Assisted Living and Memory Care was that it's a little smaller and it's closer to where we live. The building was very clean. They had a nice dining room where people could get fruits and a few snacks throughout the day. They have entertainment and they just seemed very friendly. It seemed like a very nice place. The staff was great. One guy was just very gentle with a resident as he was walking him. The other thing I liked about it was there's a bathroom in the room and if you need someone to help with showering or whatever, you can go to a bigger one. I was able to put in a down payment to hold the room. There was no pressure and they were just very thoughtful. They seemed very caring and friendly. The guy asked me if I had any questions and he answered most of them.

Barber Station Assisted Living and Memory Care was a stunningly beautiful community. It was very hip slick and cool. It was beautiful. The whole facility was just state-of-the-art. They had a fabulous workout area, and they had a golf-putting area. It was state-of-the-art. The staff who gave the tour was delightful. He was kind, caring and considerate. The dining area was lovely. The rooms were small, cramped, and dismal. However, the outside area was nice and clean. It's brand new. The outside looks like a prison and it's hard to find, but it's beautiful inside. The staff were very nice people.

It is a nice and clean facility. It's only three years old. My friend is there. The food is great, and the people are really good. They have places where they can do sewing classes. They have a library and a cafeteria type of dining area.

All of my questions were answered. I am waiting on a date to visit by looking through the window. I'm excited about moving in soon.
