Brookdale Boise Parkcenter Assisted Living is a very nice facility. It's close to where I live. My mom has a one-bedroom unit and the people are just very friendly and professional. They have activities, games, and transportation. They also provide all the meals, housekeeping, and laundry service.

My mom moved into Brookdale Boise Parkcenter Assisted Living. It wasn't my first choice, but they were very helpful, very proactive on trying to get her to move there, and gave us a lot of information. They seem to be pretty reasonable. It seems a little more restrictive than where she was in California. What I mean by that is there are not COVID lockdown restrictions, but just general rules. For example, you have to buy your own wine, and they will serve it to you. Whereas in California, it was sort of automatic that you could have a glass of wine at dinner. If we have to take her out, we have to give a 24-hour notice. It's more of just getting used to the way things are run. When we were in California, nobody actually lives there, so we would have to fly down there. They would just give us whatever we needed at the time we showed up. I'm not being critical either, it's just getting used to the difference in how the facilities are run. I don't have any problem with the staff at all. They've been very helpful. The place is clean. It's a little smaller than what she had in the past, but I can't really say that one was better than the other. They have a very small kitchenette with no microwave and a three-foot RV type refrigerator. She's allowed to have a toaster and like a hot pot, but nothing that would actually be like a stove top cooking device; it had to be contained. They have a little theater room. They also have a hair salon, which you pay for. You can make advance appointments. They also have an exercise room and a little library. They seem to have everything. There's also a nice little courtyard in the middle that you can walk around in. Plus, they have bingo. It seems like the residents just among themselves figure out what they want to watch. They don't act like there's a scheduled movie that's pre-planned. I'm sure depending on how many people show up, they probably just agree on what to watch. They can either watch something on Netflix or there was a very large collection of DVDs and blu-rays. I've only eaten there once and my mother's eaten there a few times. I'd say it is reasonable. I wouldn't say it's really great food, but it's certainly adequate. The dining area is well kept. I can't tell if it's original carpet or not, but the place has been there since probably the mid to late 90s. I wouldn't say it's worn out, but it's well maintained. It's definitely cheaper than what she was doing before, but partly that could be a difference between Idaho prices and California prices.

The worst customer service. Front desk staff are terrible and rude. RN lacks customer service and never shuts up. She will continue to talk to you like you are an idiot family member. She lacks kindness, compassion and humility. I am extremly disappointed with Brookdale and the Administration at this facility. Never would I recommend this community.

My significant other is in Brookdale Boise Parkcenter. Everything is just very classy and very nice. The people are just wonderful. I've not eaten any of the food, but he said that it's really good compared to anything he's had in any facility. They have exercise rooms, activity rooms, and a big room where they do physical therapy. He's only been there three weeks. It is so quiet and nice. The staff all seemed fine, the people are friendly. We want to have a studio apartment because he likes to sleep in a recliner or on a sofa rather than a bed. The studio apartments are the same size as the 1-bedroom apartments, but there just isn't a wall separating the bedroom from the living room part.

Brookdale Boise Park Center is a bigger community and more expensive than the other places I saw. It was nice. The staff was very accommodating during my visit.

Brookdale does a great job with trying to keep all their residents active. They’re just really involved with the residents and keep them all busy by doing things with them, so I thought that was really nice. They also help the residents get connected to transportation for doctor appointments.

My Mother is happy and thriving! This was the most difficult step for me to take. Now my mother is too busy with activities to visit with me. A wonderful problem to have. I find that the staff is wonderful and really know what my mother needs and wants. This is the best decision that I have ever made!

I was disappointed with Wynwood at River Place. It's because of what I considered to be sloppy management. My mom is there right now, and one of the services that I signed up for was for her to be brought to the cafeteria three times a day for food, and I had to call and remind people on a regular basis, and sometimes even just a couple of days later they forgot her at dinner time. Most of the time, their food is good and mom loves it. I think most of the staff that was there is excellent, but I think that the organization of services is very inadequate. The room is fine. Most of the public rooms that they use are very nice too. The physical environment is excellent. The human environment is lacking. I think they need some organizational charts, and they need some service charts that the employees check on a regular basis to make sure nobody gets forgotten or left out or the services aren’t provided. The other problem that I have was the billing. They were very disorganized with the billing; we were actually overcharged for numerous things. They need to provide itemized bills.

The staff at Wynwood was very helpful, friendly, and professional. They seem to have a full program, and they have a number of activities. It's modern and very clean. That's probably the best that I could say for it. The staff seem to be very knowledgeable. The rooms are small.

Wynwood was okay. It was clean and well kept. Everybody seemed nice and friendly. The rooms seemed a small but the dining room seemed reasonably. The residents looked like they were in good condition and they had a reasonable activities schedule.

Wynwood at River Place is older but very nice, very social, clean and well maintained. The apartments are average and older. There are lots of residents around. The menu is nice and has snacks available. There are lots of activities too. The lady who showed us around was also organizing a card game for some ladies. She showed us the rooms where they had parties. They also have trips to casinos and barbeques outside. The problem with that one was the price, it was a little bit more. This could have been my second choice for my father.
