My sister-in-law is at The Plaza at Mililani. The reasons why this is our choice is because it's her doctor's recommendation, it is located close to family, and it's a larger, well-organized facility. They're very good at staying in touch with us and good to talk with as you can always get through to someone that works out with us. They have an exercise class, and they have a group area where they gather during the day. There are no televisions in the room, only out in the main area. They're encouraged to spend time in the main area. I think it's near hospitals and restaurants. It's in a community.

The Plaza at Mililani was kind of nice. It was well-kept. The staff was friendly. The way they had it planned out was really good, but my mom feels more comfortable at home, so we're not going to be putting her in a care home. She has dementia. Their memory care seemed pretty good, too, because they had them isolated on a separate floor. The rooms were pretty much the same on all the floors, just that the memory care was locked down so no one could leave the floor. It's for their own safety, but the rooms are nice. They have two kinds of rooms. They have shared rooms where their monthly fee is cheaper versus a smaller private room and then the cost goes up. In the shared rooms, there's one shower for the two occupants. The layout was excellent. They have activities all day. They cook everything in-house. I saw bingo, puzzles, and yoga. They have patios. They have activity rooms on every floor. The dining area was an open room with tables and chairs, like a dining facility. It looked like any other dining room. The menu looked pretty good. I was pretty impressed by the layout. We weren't there that long, but the staff looked pretty competent. They have a small courtyard outside where you can walk around. They don't have anything like a vegetable garden, but it's a planned community. Even though it was one of the older Plazas because they have Plazas all over Oahu, the different locations are pretty much cookie-cutter. They're all based on the same layout. I think they're all five floors and there are different stuff on every floor. I think some of the newer ones have maybe a little bit more, but otherwise, they're pretty much all the same.

The Plaza at Mililani was very clean and very nice. The people were very friendly, and we even got to meet the director. The person handling the tour was really good. She was pleasant and had a lot of information for us. I felt comfortable with her. They showed us shared units, which they thought my mom would fit in. They were very nice and clean. They said that if it didn't work out, it would be real easy to switch over to the studio. They have a lot of activities that she would enjoy. They take them on tours and to a nice shopping center nearby.

The Plaza was brand new, and everybody was really happy, but wheelchairs were not allowed. They charge $5,000 a month, and the more care you need, the more expensive it gets.

We liked The Plaza At Mililani, but it was private pay and didn't accept Medicaid. It was nice, homey, and very pleasant. The memory care unit was very nice, and they had a lot of activities. If I could afford it, I wouldn't mind putting my mother in it.

The Plaza at Mililani was a very nice facility. Jared gave us a tour and he was very nice. It was just very beautiful and in a nice location. They had crafts, board games, bingo and trivia questions. The place was beautiful, clean, nice and well kept. The rooms were very beautiful and they had nice views. It was just right and spacious.

The Plaza at Mililani was a little more expensive. The rooms were homey, but small and the whole area was small. I took a tour there and to me it was very expensive.

I think The Plaza is really perfect for seniors because it's centrally located and close to one of the hospitals. There were also a lot of doctor offices around the area. The rooms were very nice and very clean. Although they have a meal plan, they do have a little kitchen in their apartments. They have a call button that went down to the main desk. So if they fell in the bathroom, they can pull this cord and they can get help. If they didn't see a resident at meals or they think something is wrong, they could call into their apartment. It seem like they have everything there. They also have shuttle services if the residents needed to go shopping or go someplace.

I visited The Plaza at mililani a while back before my grandmother passed away. We wanted her to stay here for a while. The rooms were small, but more than enough for a senior living alone. The large dining areas were also nice. The bistro was also nice looked like a nice area to meet new friends. The staff was nice and always seemed to be around. Knowing that there was an emergency nurse on site was comforting in case grandma had an emergency. Having cable in the rooms is nice also but some of the seniors seem to just vegetate in their rooms because of the TVs. Grandma has a hard time getting in and out of bed so she needs help with that and bathing. I would have liked her to get in on their exercise programs and start walking more. All in all it would have been a nice stay. She passed away not too long after our visit.

This is a well maintained, clean and airy facility. Our 92 year old family member has resided there for a year. The aide staff seem responsive to the requests of the residents. The variety and taste of the food is not appealing to me and even less so to the residents, who rarely finish even 50% of their dinners. However, they do seem to enjoy their desserts. The Bistro, on the ground level, used to be opened until 8pm, allowing residents and guests a nice opportunity to get a complimentary beverage and to socialize together. Since it now closes at 630pm, that opportunity no longer exists, which is a shame. Like most assisted living facilities, the Management needs to be prompted by the family members to pay closer attention when the need arises.
