My dad was in Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. They're a pretty good center, and I think it's a really good facility for people transitioning from injury to get back to normal life. They do have a lot of resources available. They have their physical therapy staff so patients get physical therapy and occupational therapy every day. They actually have really good therapists, they really push you to get you back healthy. My dad really liked that they pushed you to be better. I really liked the physical therapists that were working with him that I met. They both clearly knew what they were doing, they both appeared to be in pretty good health, and I liked that. My dad definitely grew a lot at that center. Overall, the place was very professional, they took care of their patients, the facility was really nice. It was clean, everything was high and new looking (that might just be because it's taken care of well), the doors are nice and wide, easy for people to go in and out with wheelchairs. They have a shower area where the handicap would go and get a shower, they teach them to transfer in and out, like a shower bench from the wheelchair. They really show you what you need to do. Two things I didn't like, one was my dad was taking a lot of muscle relaxers, which was causing him to be tired, so between his therapy sessions he would lay down to sleep so he could get ready for the next session. They said that because he would lay down between sessions to sleep, he was self-limiting, and they used that as justification for him to leave. As a family member, the one he came home to, he was not ready to leave, he was on way too much medication. I don't think that's fair to the patient and to the family member, to send somebody home in that kind of state. I didn't appreciate that at all. Don't take your patients out.
