My dad is at Lovely Care Assisted Living. It is very clean. The staff is caring and does a great job. I don't know that much about activities because my dad won't participate in them, but I know they offer them. I have been there at meals, and everything always smells very good and looks good. They have somebody that comes in once a month or every couple of weeks for hair, and they do their laundry. They help with transporting them for appointments and things like that outside of the facility. They do functions for them. They'll do a big dinner or invite the families and stuff every so often. My mom went to one and then my half-sister and her husband went to one of those, but they said everything was good. I think it's a good value for the money. Unfortunately, the insurance does not get to pay for that.

When we were at Lovely Care Assisted Living, they were actually having a service, so we know that they have activities there. We liked the fact that they have religious services as well as other activities. What we were not happy with was the fact that the residents would have to share a bathroom. You have your own individual room, but then you have to share your bathroom with the person in the room next to you. It wasn't as clean as the other facilities as well. The staff was good though. We had an appointment and they were on time. They even let us sit in on the service that they were having. We were shown the dining areas where the people would eat, and we came at a time when they were preparing for a meal, but we didn't get the opportunity to try the food. I do know that they do have some amenities, but there are some things like shopping, and other things that seniors like to do that they don't do. They'll allow you to come and pick up the senior person, and you can take them to the Walmart or something, but they don't do that, so they don't have as many trips. They were saying that some of the things that they used to do they don't do because of the COVID restrictions. All the other places have found some kind of way so that seniors can still have outings away from the facilities.

My mother moved into Lovely Care. I like them having to really handle dementia patients. Plus they were the only ones at the time that she was moving in, she was positive for COVID, so they had a protocol for it. The staff seems very knowledgeable, nice, and very attentive. Accommodations are very nice, no complaints, it seems like she has everything she needs. It feels like home, like a family, it doesn't feel like a business, and it feels like they actually care about the residents. I have not personally tried the food but my mom says it tastes good. She's just coming out of the protocol and is still getting acclimated. She's out a little bit, but they kind of keep them separate right now due to the COVID stuff.

I toured Lovely Care Assisted Living. I liked the way it was set up. The thing I didn't like was they had a bunch of stuff in the halls. I think the place needs a step up. They were very informative and very friendly. The rooms were nice, and I liked the way they had it been decorated and how they allowed the people to decorate it so it feels like home. It's not that far from me.
